Define a melody (Pearl, Euclase and Pink Diamond)

[Melody]

Pearl soon entered the final floor and the first thing she saw was her beloved Diamond, her creator. She entered while making a diamond salute and bowed down, she stood up when Pink Diamond spoke out. Now Pearl had a chance to take a closer look at her creator. She trully looked like a perfect being, Pearl didn't even notice that there was yet another Pearl standing there. She just stood there near Euclause while starring with delight at her Diamond.

Soon a powerful voice awoke her from her trance. Pearl turned around to see... Yellow Diamond!? At first she didn't really know what to think about her. She was also a perfect being, a Diamond, but she wasn't a Diamond Cream was made for. The way she was talking... Cream heard before that she is a strong gem that doesn't tolerate failure. But she didn't expect her to be so intimidaring. By the way Yellow Diamond spoke you could clearly see she didn't care about lower gems as much as Pink Diamond. Pearl tried to comfort herself by folding her arms.

It didn't seem like a right time to come after all. Her Diamonds had an argument that should have been taken care of without any audience. Pearl knew that gems have arguments with each others, but she never expected Diamonds out of all gems to act like this. She just didn't expect them to act in such a similiar way like other beings. However, she also didn't know that rebelion is such a big problem after all. She thought that her Diamond had everything under control, but in reality everyone was stressing out about all of this, even Blue and Yellow Diamond.

Sudeenly White Diqmond was mentioned. Cream have had heard before about the way she treas other gems... the way she treats her personal Pearl. She had a visible scared expression just like anyone else, her hands were grasped around her stomach. She turned to Euclause hoping that at least she stayed positive, but the mention of White Diamond terrified her just like anyone else in the room.

Soon after this Yellod Diamond and her Pearl left, but Cream knew they will come back to see her Diamond. Pink Diamond than sit on her chair. Pearl was still not sure what to think about all of this... Than her Diamond ordered to don't talk about this anymore. She made a diamond salute "My mouth won't make a sound my Diamond."

[Order Of The Diamonds]

"As always my Diamond," Euclase responded aswell, unlike Pearl though this was hardly the most egregious classified information she had on file, but she was a higher rank so that was more of a given.

"Don't mistake that for some sort of a threat" She added "Its a matter of minor inconvenience really" She crossed her arms as she spoke the next part in a quiet but grumpy tone "honestly if it did get out it may force Yellow to stop hiding from my court"

"I do have the situation under control" She stated "dont fall for rumours or Yellow interpretation of the events, I simply dont want to waste gems or have more casualties when adequate scouting, intel and planning can lead to a concise strike that will minimise the losses. Losing gems to their silly little insurgence is a pleasure i will not give those rebels"

Pink shook her head, focusing more so on the task at hand "Back on topic though, This little meeting is about you Cream Pearl" She started, smiling the cream coloured Pearl below here "From what Intel, and Euclase has informed me you did work alongside one a Zircon back when the colony was still early in its lifetime, at that point you were a scribe among other duties to said zircon on other planets, trials and so on. then you were traded, so to speak, with a acquaintance on Earth and worked within the sea spire correct? of course the little incident occurred and you like others were evacuated, only to find that the temptation of a new Pearl was too great and your Zircon had unceremoniously replaced you" She said the last past with slight irritation, she very much disliked when gems were replaced like this, especially for petty reasons. Besides this Cream Pearl was important, and with her recording abilities she had more then enough sensitive data on her.

"At this point, Euclase took notice of your situation" She glanced at the blue gem "and contacted me. Considering your past with the Zircon you hold sensitive information that could be dangerous in the wrong hands. Normally in a situation like this you would be secured away, likely bubbled or left to power some machine, but that is so very wasteful, so instead i arranged this meeting and the small change in situation. Instead of being locked away, i will simply keep a close eye on you" She let out a small smile "where else is safer then my moonbase in this situation, in that way your new master, is not but one gem," She gestured around her "but the moonbase itself."

[Melody]

"Those defective gems on Earth are dangerous my Diamond. You are protecting your gems, it is a mercyful act... we should all thank you for this." She said genuinely. Rebels were stuck on Earth, sending there ships would only give them a chance to terrorize other colonies. Not to mention a death of those loyal gems... or worse! Spoil those gems and make enemy forces stronger!

Pearl looked down and spoke with a slightly melancholic tone when her Diamond reminded her of the whole story "Exactly my Diamond... I am not sure how I failed my Zircon's expectations."

Pink Diamond continued. Peael was becoming more and more suspicious about her Zircon's actions. Did she really wanted her to remain in a bubble for an eternity? Maybe they weren't that close, but Pearl would never expect her to do something like this. Or maybe Pearl was simply worse from this new Pearl... she always thought that her experience was handy in some situations. They solved so many mysteries together, but she couldn't solve this one by herself.

Her Diamond had other plans? Pearl glazed at her with a suprised look. From now on she was suppose to serve the Moonbase... she never heard of something like this. She clapped her hands and tried to thank her Diamond "I-I am honored my Diamond! I promise not to let you down!"

[Euclase]

"No, dont thank me" Pink Responded shaking her head. "I am doing what is right for all of gemkind, it is a act that i would assume that any gem would also do, even my sisters, if they had the whole picture like i did"

When Cream began talking about how she wasn't sure how she had failed her Zircon's expectations Pink raised her hand in a silencing gesture "No," She responded, Tapping a holographic screen near her the area below Melody rose up to be at eye level with Pink Diamond herself "Listen to me, your reservations, your fears, none of that matters about the past, you did nothing wrong, you were not inferior, you were not defective, you are perfect Pearl." She reassured "The second perfect Pearl here" She added looking next to her at her own Pearl, who looked away flustered, her cheeks blushing a distinct blue hue as Pink let out a small chuckle.

"Welcome back to my court Cream Pearl, im sure you will do many great things" She stated, lowering the platform back down to ground level "Now there is work to be done" She began bring up a small array of holographic screen "Under logistics you will fall under Euclase's 'ownership' and more so the Medical division, just for the sake of streamlining it"

"Do not assume you must constantly be at my beck and call cream" Euclase added "You are my Pearl only in bureaucracy, so who you get orders from will be much the same as many gems on here, a variety of orders and jobs may be passed down to you, orders from myself, requests of assistance from others, or order from My Diamond or many others. This is a similar situation to a violet pearl i have under my orders in the same way" Euclase explained, in truth it was more like being a generalist or errand person, working within the medical facility, Helping or assisting on ships, both docked and even as a crew member in small space fares and sometimes their may even be skirmishes to Earth, to safe areas or zones that have been secured on the planet. If nothing else the role was not dull and day to day a near limitless variety of tasks may need helping with, when of course its safe for Pearl to do so, no rough housing or fighting along side the Quartzs if it can be avoided.

"That is correct" Pink Diamond agreed "Now" she tapped away rapidly at a screen "Firstly do you know your Standardised Designation, Facet? Cabochon?" 

[Melody]

"I heard many stories my Diamond. Sadly not everyone cares as much about life of other gems as you. Rebel attacks on your colony only assure me that it is the case." Pearl even heard that the leader of this rebelion wants to destroy all gems. But Cream knew that nothing is black and white... except of her Diamond, she was trully perfect. The story just seemed to don't make much sense. Sometimes Pearl wondered what really were the motives of this Rose Quartz. Why did she actually betrayed her own kind? She heard her message some time ago. From what Pearl understood this Quartz betrayed her own kind to save the organic life on Earth. But how could primitive life be more important for her than the whole gemkind?

Cream a little bit suprised of this turn of events looked at her Diamond. She smiled slightly at the comment on her own Pearl and tried to avoid chuckling "If you say so my Diamond, I am happy that I meet your expectensions. Noone ever really told me this."

Pearl smiled soflty. Perhaps she would do something great, it was all like a new beggining. Pink Diamond than mentioned her being in a medical division and under Euclase's ownership. Which made sense since she was Pink Diamond's left hand here. Pearl looked at Euclause, it would be hard to forget the gem she was made for... but she wasn't going to complain. Euclause seemed like a nice gem to work with and even to talk. She only wasn't sure if her abilities will help much in a medical division. Perhaps playing some tunes would help the gems there to relax and be more effective.

Pearl blinked and responded to what Euclause said "It is something I have no experince with, but I can get used to this kind of lifestyle. Is there a place where I am suppose to stay when noone needs me?" So there was one more Pearl... interesting. Cream was wondering if she will have a chance to meet them.

"Yes my Diamond. Althought it was never really used, other gems usually just reffered to me as "Pearl". Some liked to give me nicknames so it would be easier to distinguish me from other Pearls like "Cream" or even "Melody". Nonetheless I am Pearl Facet-3AG Cabochon 4." She was 't sure why did she mention the last nickname. It was only used by her Zircon. 

[Order Of The Diamonds]

"While we have facilities for accommodation, cubbys for the Quartz's and so on, ill admit it can get a bit noisy around them so its if you wish i'm sure some more private offices of accommodations can be set up if needed" She admitted. Like before she listened again as Pearl spoke, she knew quite a few gems preferred Nicknames, it was something that she more so allowed in her court, she felt it was harmless afterall.

"For the sake of posterity I like to keep the system consistent and check most gems know their Identification, if for no other reason then it makes life easier" She stated as she flicked up another screen,glancing to make sure the system was correct, if nothing else it helps her to iron out the logistic nightmare that was her systems. With the amounts of transfers that came into her court, plus her own inexperience when she began her colony her data on all the gems in her court was not always complete, something she had been trying her hardest to fix recently.

She smiled, if nothing else she liked meeting the gems in her court, if for no other reason then it offered a distraction to the tedium that was her normal work, still, she had things to do so you needed to wrap this up quickly. The tension was starting to get rather significant on her, and while she was good at hiding it on her face her Pearl had still spared a small unsure glance towards her. "That should be all for now then" She said gently "We will get stuff organised rather quickly, as myself or Euclase will contact you when new orders come through" Swiping her hand on a screen the stairway opened back up to the lower levels "I look forward to what we can do together Melody, both of you are excused" She concluded gesturing to the stairway and indicating that for now, this meeting was over.

Euclase saluted once more before twisting on her heel and making her way back down the stairs, trying very hard not to let out a huge sigh of relief until she was out of earshot of her Diamond, she waited in the room down below, she wanted to at least accompany Pearl just a bit further, if for no other reason then to show her where the medical facility was, or more so what the interior layout was. The last thing they needed was a lost pearl, she thought to herself, smiling.

[Melody]

"Even cubbys for the Quartze's are fine my Diamond. I just don't want to interrupt anyone." She didn't even think about the sectors for Quartz soldiers... she would probably don't fit there around warriors and guards. But she also didn't mind them. Some were actually not bad to have around. There is also no such thing as too much safety.

"That is understandable." It was probably a good thing she was trying to keep everything organised. There were many Pearls like her, it wasn't always easy to distinguish all gems from each other.

She made a Diamond salute and bowed down. She than stood up and spoke for the last time to her Diamond "It is an honour to serve you my Diamond. For now I will wait for the orders. I am aslo happy to work with you." She walked behind Euclause and left the room with her when everything was finished. 

When the stairway was closed she sighed to Euclause "Oh dear..." She continued "She is fantastic." She looked around and at Euclause again. She wasn't really sure sure what to do now. It was probably a good thing to learn more about this place if she was suppose to work here.

[Euclase]

Euclase seemed distracted, deep in thought herself as they had walked down the stairs, she almost didn't catch what Pearl was saying.

"hmm" Euclase glanced over at Pearl "Oh yes, as i said you have nothing to be concerned about, she is not as" She paused, trying to think of the right word her hand raising in a vague gesture, "Totalitarian, as the other Diamonds" She let out a small smile "Honestly i think she keeps alot of us around just because she likes having a mix to her court, you should see the indignation of other Agates when they find out i'm equal rank to them" She began walking again, making her way down the stairs "I should show you to the facility, not that I dont trust one of the Quartzs....but your liable to be roped into some sort of escapades if '8XM' is anywhere nearby, she is mischievous, and a little too persuasive." She explained, her tone indicating that this was a common occurrence, but not a occurrence she was truly ever bothered by, it was more like a mother trying to keep their endearing but hyperactive child in check.


As she made her way down the stair she glanced sideways at the Yellow Diamond Mural, vocalising some of her thoughts "Blue Diamond makes sense" She began "Her and Our Diamond are close, its logical that she would come in to help with the issues on Earth, she has frequently been present during construction, but Yellow has always been more distant, after she gave this planet to Pink Diamond sh-" She paused, realising that this information was probably not super common knowledge around gem society. Most of the Diamond's early lives were mostly covered in shrouds and kept fairly secret, to have a origin implies entropy, and while it logical they had a beginning, assuming it and outright stating it were two different things. The Diamonds were eternal, and flawless, as such the where and how of their creations was kept mostly unknown to gems of lower rankings. Even still Pink seemed to be a outlier in the Diamond Authority, while Euclases Information was patchy it seemed especially brief on Pink Diamond herself, logical information that was present on the other Dimaond's files, when she could find them, seemed strangely razed on the equivalent files for Pink and the information she could find, when it was safe to, seemed different from the other Diamonds, nothing major from what she could find, but strange instances. This was one of those examples. While most Diamonds tended to rule fairly soon after emerging, for whatever reason Pink Diamond had a rather significant gap between what her stated formation date was, and when this colony was established, ontop of that, Earth was slated to be under Yellow's Command but was subsequently transferred to Pink Diamond. Its not a stretch to think that Yellow simply gifted Pink this planet as her first colony, and Euclase thought nothing major of it, but it was still different, and information that seemed to not be common knowledge.

[Melody]

"It seems like it." Pearl knew that it is the case when she saw Yellow Diamond... Her Diamond probably had reasons to treat her gems this way. Melody thought it is a nice change. 

The idea of gems being equal to each other still seemed odd to her, she couldn't imagine puting herself at the same level as the Quartz... or any other gem! Maybe with exception for other Pearls, rubies and some low ranked Peridots. She didn't respond to Euclause, but she kept it in mind that here she is an equal to Agates.

"Yes, I am sure I wouldn't want to dissapoint my Diamond because of this Quartz at my first day. That would be inappropriate for a gem like me- for anyone." She didn't mind Quartz soldiers, not at all. However, she really had to be the best version of herself. Working in a Diamond base! With Pink Diamond herself! Not everyone have a pleasure to be in such a good position. Failing her Diamond was the last thing she wanted. 

They continued to walk. At some point Euclause mentioned Yellow Diamond... Pearl simply stayed silent and listened carefully. She had no idea that Yellow Diamond gave Pink Diamond planet Earth. She also never heard about the relations between her leaders. Well she did know that Blue helped Pink a lot, but Euclause was talking about them like about any other close gems. Melody sensed that Euclause didn't want to say so much, she decided to don't mention this. She than responded "Different gems act different way. It is something I have learned while working with my Zircon. Yellow Diamond cares deeply about our Diamond, I am sure of it. Perhaps she has a different way of showing affection and appreciation. Let's don't forget that the way other people treat us affect the way we act. Without Yellow Diamond... there would be no Pink Diamond we know." She tried to whisper so noone would hear them. She felt kind of weird about talking about their leaders like they were any other gems "I-I am sorry, it is a stupid old habit from my previous work. I probably shouldn't talk so freally about this subject."

[Euclase]

Euclase let out a smile "we will see, one can find themselves in mischief, even if its not intended, and with how little action we see on the base, some gems can get restless" It honestly helped to keep her on her toes, in the best kinda of way, nothing made a dull day better then finding out the quartzes managed to get in some humorous situation.

Their was a small hiss as the door to the moonbase itself opened up,leading them back onto the lunar soil, gems seemed to wander from location to location, equipment,drones and other objects in hand, overhead a ship silently flew above them, heading for destinations unknown.

"No, you dont need to restrict yourself, at least not when i'm around" Euclase responded to her final comment "Im sure the Diamonds have their reasons, of course, to question them is unusual ill admit, in most regards. Pink once again seems to be more lenient, allowing gems to speak up and present counterpoints if they believe her actions could be more efficient." She shook her head "im getting off topic, I like to be informed, sometimes that unintentionally means i speak to myself, or read between the lines of most situations, I suppose its a byproduct of my caste in some ways, we share the empathy present within our Diamond, its not the most practical for a manager, but" She paused, adding more quietly and in a slightly sombre tone as she looked towards Earth "I was never really intended to be one."

[Melody]

"I would still prefer to don't anticipate in that kind of conversations, if that is not a problem." It wasn't just unusual, it was... it was just against the rules she knew. When she was made she already knew how to behvae, who she is suppose to be. Not questioning Diamonds was just the proper thing to do. Perhaps a Zircon could be more free to speak out, but not she, not a Pearl.

Melody herself had a tendency to overthink and analyze everything, a trait she possesed after her Zircon. It was something that she often tried to hide. It often came in handy during her previous work, but those day were over now. Cream looked at Euclause starring at the planet Earth. She than peeked at the Moonbase behind them "Well... I was never really intented to serve a base."

[Euclase]

"Its a learned thing ill admit" Euclase responded, it seemed she was like many other pearls, not wanting to question authority so to speak, it made sense, from a caste perspective at least, but still. Euclase hoped she could learn to speak more freely around here.


"Then i suppose its fresh starts all around" Euclase said brightly, clapping her hands together, her moment of reflection seemingly passing once again, those feeling buried mostly back inside her once again. She tried to keep it mostly contained but sometimes her mind did roam, did wonder what happened to her sisters, and why Pink had left them but not her. Enough of that, it was foolish to speak of such things, to deal in what could and didn't was excruciating, to see only the other path behind meant it was impossible to see the right path ahead.

"Now" She began as they began making their way closer to the primary medical centre "As mentioned ill try and get you a office of your own to work in, it make takes some time but im sure you will fit in with the others just fine" Approaching the building the door once again flanked by 2 guards, hissed open to expose the, what could only be described somewhat as a reception inside, a large open floor space with several seats, multiple hallway flanking the walls in different places and a variety of other gems walking to a from every corridor. Euclase gestured for Pearl to go first as she stood beside the door.

"Welcome home Melody" She said with a gentle and motherly smile.

"Indeed it is. And we will have a pleasure of working together for many years till the Earth Colony will be finished. Who knows, maybe even longer. I think I will get used to this new live." Her future after the completion of the Earth Colony was uncertain. Maybe she would stay here and keep everything tidy for her Diamond, maybe she would stay on Earth or maybe she would be with Euclause. Althought, it was all just speculations.

Melody entered the medical station. The sounds, the sight, it was all just like back in Homeworld, but at the same time it was a new experience for her. At this moment it was all like a good dream and Pearl didn't want anything to wake her up. She whispered to Euclause "Thank you." She had a feeling, she wasn't sad... but she wanted to cry. She stopped herself, but perhaps she didn't have to in a place like this. She was always interested about other gems, but the time came for Cream to learn more abojt herself.



(Thank you for your cooperarion and I am sorry that I was always so slow in posting. It is a perfect ending for this thread. I still would love some interraction between Pearl and Euclause, but we can do that in the near future when you will have some time {I can do it even now}. In the meantime I will probably roleplay with someone else from the website.)
