Name: White Moonstone
Appeared Gender: Female
Appeared Age: Early 30s
Height: 12' 2"
Gemstone: White Moonstone
Gemstone Location: Forehead
Faction: Neutral, still leaning towards Homeworld | Formerly White Diamond
Corrupted: Nixta!
Appearance: Credit to zillion on Tumblr!
Personality: White Moonstone, as expected per her aged life, is exceedingly capricious. Though she is nearly always in a state of calm with the inclusion of soft spoken words and eloquence. A strange antithesis to how this Gem type originally operated, Moonstone in her current state acts much more like a concerned mother than a government official. Contrary to what one may assume, her blindness is not a sore topic for her - indeed, she views it as just punishment for her folly, and will refuse any offer to have it healed. Banished from Homeworld as an act of mercy (alternative to being shattered), she still clings to a lingering thread of loyalty for her original Home, not quite ready to accept the fact that she can never again return there.

Weapon - Bow: A large instrument of war in other hands, Moonstone’s weapon is mostly for show. She has never once actually fired it - and her current blindness prevents accurate shots from being made.
Ability 1: Chronosight | As a Gem that was around before the blue clairvoyant Sapphires, White Moonstone possess the ability to see the branching paths of time. Unlike the later models, however, this ability works both for the future and past - and cannot be turned off fully. The nature of prototyping, in addition to simply her age and stress, have rendered the 'future' part of this ability near useless - at best all she can catch are fuzzy glimpses of objects or places. This ability can still see into the immediate past in the area around her, and she uses it rarely to imitate vision if she deems it necessary. As a prototype and cracked Gem, using this ability causes great paint and duress. Though it can never fully be tuned out, White Moonstone can push it to the back of her mind and suppress it to minimize the pain - cutting off her ties to the future and past.
Ability 2: Light Malleability | Moonstone is capable of absorbing light from large stars, and by extension the moon’s reflection of the sun’s rays. This ability can be used for short ranged energy blasts that can take a few hits to poof a Gem, or as a weapon enhancer - to coat one in the rays of light to enhance its destructive power. This buff lasts for only a single post - and is mostly used for destroying obstacles and terrain hazards. This power can be stored, though the upper limit is only six blasts or two enhancements. Standing in the sun can fully charge her in four posts, while the moon takes seven.
History: In the beginning, there was only Diamond - and from her the weight of running not only a world, but the need to acquire more resources to sustain Gemkind, was a constant pressure. Still struggling to gain control over the main world on her own, she turned to an alternative - a Gem built with the express purpose of imitating the authority of Diamond. These 'Pure Moonstones' served as the first clairvoyants, and as unwavering dedicated viceroys that dutifully watched over recently established colonies in order to express Diamond's authority.
Unfortunate for them, however, this Gem type wasn’t built to last. They did not have the steeled resolve of the ultimate rulers, and in combination with the chronosight that unrelentingly plagued the minds of White Moonstones, most grew insane after time. A few were able to cling onto sanity, and during the newer Era of Homeworld’s rule were pushed to the background - why have a reminder that once Diamond needed Gems like these? A single mistake had then cost Moonstone her life - but in exchanged for her service and exceptional dedication to Homeworld, Diamond spared her from shattering. Instead, White Moonstone was precisely cracked and banished, removing both her eyesight and home from her in one swoop. Learning from this 'mistake', Diamond - later to be known as 'White Diamond' tailored Gems specifically for performing a task separately that the Moonstones couldn't do when combined. From this, came Blue Diamond - later Yellow.
With only the gift of a simple starship, White Moonstone spent several millennia wandering the cosmos alone. The thought that she could never return home constantly plagued her, and several times among her voyage she almost lost hope and succumbed to the allure of insanity. Moonstone, however, was never one to waste a gift - and this gift of life came from White Diamond herself. Perhaps by happenstance, she ended up in the Milky Way where her engine finally died - depositing the clueless Gem on the surface of the planet. Having been so detached from events, she had little knowledge of current Homeworld - indeed, she knew not of the Rebels, this planet, or even the existence of other Diamonds besides White.
Character Arcs:
Important Note: This is an alternate of Imperial Topaz, replacing Obsidian. Additionally, until after her intro thread Moonstone will not be aware of: rebels, humans, Pink, Yellow, and Blue Diamond.
