In the aftermath of her adventures with the white beryl named Radiant, Cat's Eye took it upon herself to rest in the earthen forest of green trees that soared above her. Well, if she was resting on a log, they would of. The yellow gem, a curious shapeshifter, transformed into an animal she saw climbing a tree. When applied to her, the coloration of the animal was a variety of shades of yellow. The animal itself was some kind of primate, seemingly having freakishly long arms and no hair on their palms, soles, and face. It was an odd animal indeed, reminding her of a human... except it wasn't. It didn't matter at the moment, it only mattered that she had a place to rest. The shapeshifted gem clutched the thick tree branch she was balancing on, the swampy ground far, far below. It was as if it would swallow her up like quicksand. She didn't want to climb out of that mess once again.
She could not keep this form forever, though. As her energy wavered, a bright light surrounded her, and she reverted to her default form. Some of her hair fell over her face. Momentarily, Cat's Eye was thrown off of balance from having normal-length arms not adapted to swinging from tree-to-tree. Quickly, she regained it. The yellow gem had been startled from this sudden shift. She opened her eyes, and blinked a few times to get adjusted to the dim light. What else could happen today?
Somewhere, she heard something move within the undergrowth. She yelped, and her grip slipped from the tree branch. She plummeted, crying out in pain as the rough branches scratched her form. She landed on the ground, splatting mud all over her. Some birds cawed as they flew away in surprise. Other, smaller animals scurried away as they heard her coming down. Only one animal remained, and it was going at her faster than before...
