Admittedly, the white beryl's apartment was like a miniature library simply because of the sheer number of books he had. The whole time, Green Pearl stood next to Radiant, following him and waiting for a command. Of course, it was nothing like serving her original owner, but an unofficial one was the closest she got to feeling in line again. Turning to the white beryl, she commented, "I can help you if you need it." She gave a bow and stood off to the side, not bothering to sit in the chair. She kept her posture straight, like any proper pearl should have. All the while, she kept a watchful gaze on Peridot and Cat's Eye. She was not paying attention to their conversation, but her gut told her they will cause trouble while they are here.
Finally, Radiant was home at last, but he did not make himself be too optimistic. He still needed to talk with the other two. He at least hoped that the worst tonight was already past him. He looked back towards PR as he walked to the bigger of the five seats which was meant for him, saying softly to PR: "If you say that it's okay for you, then I have nothing against it." He sat down, letting himself slide into the comfy back of the chair after a hard day of work. He looked at Green Pearl and PR, making an inviting move with his hand and speaking with the same calm voice he used on PR. "Sit down, won't you?"
Once PR got relieved listening to Cat's Eye, she heard Radiant offering to sit down. She had to accept, because even if she didn't like to stand in only one place, she had walked enough to cross a country before meeting this crew. "I will..." She said to Radiant, looking to Green Pearl. "I need to..." She muttered to herself tiredly. PR remembered the face Green Pearl made at the elevator once she reformed, that glance might mean that finally PR was making her listen, but also could mean she was just worried, she couldn't be eager about this. So after sitting, she decided to look at Green Pearl again to check how she was, but she needed to know if she was worried too, even if it didn't changed anything between them, PR doesn't see anything wrong in trying to help... yet, although Peridot does, for a very good reason. "Pearl... Are you worried about something? Are you okay?"
Cat's Eye was fast asleep, not longer tuning in on her surroundings. She had nice dreams, like ones of finding a grand treasure. While asleep, she had no care in the world. She could do anything she wanted in her dreams; after all, it was not real. She should still be alert of her surroundings, though. She was not succeeding in that at the moment. Not even being in the form of an actual cat helped. Regardless, her mind drifted away from worries at the moment. She was sure that everything would go well while she was not present. There was still some small part of her that wanted to go out and explore the rest of the world, but then again, how much of the earth did she have left to explore? She has been to many places during her stay, though she often avoided tourist destinations. She still wanted to leave Earth eventually, but for now, that was her goal. To explore.
The pearl nodded, and she pulled out a chair to sit down it. It was almost robotic, but she was simply doing her job - to be a simple servant. Keeping a straight face, she still focused an eye on the peridot. Cat's Eye clearly was not a threat for now; she was incapacitated. Thus, it was Peridot she must keep her attention on. She's seen what she could do if her behavior got out of hand. Without any life near her, though, Green Pearl was defenseless. She would only rely on her agility if Peridot or White Beryl would ever turn on her. Peridot's question brought her out of her thoughts, and she turned her head to look at the green gem. "No, nothing is wrong," she replied. "I'm fine." It was a lie, but then again, she was insignificant in their eyes. Though she felt like she had a purpose again, she was still a slave.
Now he had all of them finally back at his apartment. Radiant thought about how he would introduce them to his real intentions, or at least, the intentions he wanted them to know. Although he did have concerns. The group he found himself was more a rag-team than anything. Cat's Eyes and Green Pearl were good enough, but PR was too unpredictable for him too trust her fully. Then there was the question about... the serum, as he simply titled it, but that would come later. He turned towards the two sitting in front of him, letting Cat's Eye be. Radiant put on the most charismatic voice he could muster. "So, since we are finally all here, I would like you to feel at home. You probably will be here at home, considering that no one of you has really a place he could go to. However, you staying here will require something from you too. See, I am not about blindly following Homeworld and its orders, although I have a strong bond to the Diamond Authority. No, I have my own... goals, and I would much appreciate it if you would help me reach them. Now, is that a deal? He held out his arms towards the two, hoping for them to shake his hands.
Now PR was worried. He didn't specified any of the conditions, it was just a deal. "W-What do i need to-" She tried to reply shaking. "H-How can i help you? But look, i can't promise anything without knowing what i have to do... Sorry" She was feeling wrong, accepting help from someone but not helping them. She wanted to wake up Cat's Eye now to call for help, but at the same time didn't want to bother her.
"Green Pearl, i c-can trust him right? I mean..." She looked at them both this time. "You helped me out, i guess i can help you reach your goal. Do you... trust me to do so?" She asked because she was starting to doubt of herself at this point.
After listening to the beryl's proposal, the pearl took his hand and shook it almost immediately. "Of course," she simply said to him, giving a slight nod. Anything to give her fulfillment again. It was the one thing she desired, and she had it. Yet, it wasn't the same. She had another gem to call master now, but in her mind, only her emerald would be her true master. Her service belonged to her exclusively. To Radiant? It was more of a temporary deal, something to satisfy her need for purpose. Maybe he'll leave me later, she thought. If only I could return to Mask Island... Sometimes, she wished she never left, but other times, she was glad for the change of scenery. Memories of the past made her want to scream and cry, but she could not lose it here. Not now.
To answer the peridot's question, she said, "I am sure we can trust him." He convinced me to leave Mask Island, she wanted to add, but she felt that it was unnecessary. "Though, it would be best to make yourself useful." Malice was not her intent, but she still had her suspicions about the supposedly-rebel peridot.
(Sorry for the big delay, I had things to take care of.)
"I am glad to have you on my side, Pearl," Radiant said with a sign if gratitude in his voice. However, he heared the Peridot's doubtful question of what this deal would entail. Radiant didn't want to leave out on potential members, so he had to leave out some elements of the truth for now. And although he did not like the Peridot, he was determined to find a use for her somehow. "Oh, sometimes we will go onto different missions," Radiant said with an emphasis on the "we". "But hopefully nothing major. Not for now at least. Research, mostly, and then some.
Reassuring herself near Cat's Eye, PR decided to at least try to trust him, but she didn't want to wake up Cat's Eye, so she got a little far from her to speak quietly. "Can we leave Cat's Eye resting? I think we walked a lot... J-Just asking..." Although she wanted to be near her to not feel afraid, she needed to do this to make sure her friend would be safe, she couldn't do the same for Green Pearl, because she wanted to do this, she wouldn't stop her if she think this it's the right thing to do.
After that, Peridot was able to take over again, but decided to do so when PR was passing by Radiant. Since she was near him, she started to whisper to him. "Tell me Radiant, since the moment you were made, has there ever been a point where you actually told the truth?" She stood next to him waiting for an answer, but she didn't expected one actually at this point.
Green Pearl nodded towards Radiant, understanding his objective. That was the first step, after all--understanding someone's purpose. Of course, she would support him no matter what. She had nothing else to do. When the peridot spoke, her green eyes drifted towards the sleeping shapeshifted gem. She was out like a hunk of rock. There was no way she was going to wake up shortly. "If you say so," she replied to Peridot. She will cause us no harm in that state, she thought. The pearl's eyes narrowed as she noticed her inch closer to the white beryl and whisper something she could not make out. She only heard the sharpness in her voice, the sudden coldness she obtained at times. She stood up straight with her arms behind her back, glaring at the peridot as she watched her every move. If she suddenly lashed out again, she would wake up Cat's Eye without any question.
Radiant was a little surprised at the Peridot leaning to him and whispering. He had a disinterested look and stared at the ground. He hoped that she wouldn't do any trouble, but on the other hand it could be pretty fun, so long as nothing happened with his belongings in the room that is. He pondered it over a little. How should he respond to her crude remark? Deligently or as jokingly as she? What would it lead to? And most importantly, should he really keep her all the way through? Radiant slowly turned his head toqards her and his eyes met with the gaze of the Peridot. He stared a while into her pupils and whispered back: "I do not think any of my claims have been lies up until now, and I do not understand why you would think otherwise, my dear." He turned his head to Pearl, pointing his right index finger to Peridot a little. Radiant hoped that she would get the signal. If something happens, Radiant and Pearl would hopefully sort it out without too much damage.
Pearl wasn't helping PR come back so easily, so when Peridot heard Radiant's reply, she chuckled. "Very well then..." She rose her head, then walked off back to where she was, waiting for the command to go. She looked around, non-stopping, ignoring everything and everyone she was looking at. Her feet were quickly moving from up to down because of the lack of Limb Enhancers and excess of energy. One hard choice must have Determination, to not give up, both personalities agreed with that, but this time Peridot was willing to use hers to find out what was happening behind the curtains. When she stopped her foot, then started to levitate the nearest metal she sensed to maintain herself distracted.
As soon as she saw Radiant's signal, Green Pearl dashed over to Peridot and apprehended her without question. Noticing the piece of metal floating nearby, her main target was grabbing the green gem's hands. She clasped the other gem's wrists and mustered all of her strength to try to pull her arms behind her back. That way, she hoped, the piece of metal would drop, and she would not be a threat. She could poof her, but... she kind of lacked the strength to do so. An image of her former owner getting shattered suddenly flashed in her mind. She gasped, the surprise of it being enough to let Peridot ago. She tumbled backwards into the wall, hitting her head on it. She fell to her knees and groaned, gripping her head. "Cat's Eye!" she then yelled as loud as she could, directed towards her sleeping form in the corner. "Help!" Her only hope now was that the yellow gem would side with Pearl and Radiant, not the peridot.
Her head immediately shot up upon the cry for help. She was pulled out of her dream world into the real one at last, and now she looked around frantically. Shapeshifting back into her normal form, she summoned her dagger and waved it around. "Who's there?! What's going on?!" When she noticed the scene going on, she started to panic. Both of her friends were fighting! What had happened in the time she was asleep? Her eyes darted between the two groups. On one side of the room stood Radiant with a chilling glare at PR. On the other side was Green Pearl and PR. It was obvious there was struggle between the two, and PR had won. Cat's Eye took a few uneasy steps towards them. She frowned. "Why are you fighting?" She knew there were obvious tensions between the white beryl and the peridot, but she never imagined them to escalate this far.
