After their rather violent encounter at the Beta Kindergarten, Sulfur was determined to distract Saki with something. As the only other sulfur gem, Saki could not end up pathetic like the Crystal Gems. They took the warp pad and walked to a street just outside of Beach City. There was Sulfur's motorbike. It was his only real possession. Sulfur had always simply stolen things, but after opening a bank account for his job at the restaurant, he found that he had some wealth to throw around. The bike was black and had room for two. Sulfur used a helmet because it kept the hair from his face, and he didn't need the police trying to fine him for it. He didn't have two helmets but it was night so Saki would probably be fine. He Approached the bike and turned to Saki.
"This is a human transportation machine. The place I want to go isn't commonly visited by gems, and so we have to use human methods to get there quickly. This might be a bit strange, but it's far less tedious than going there on foot." He kept his formal way of speaking even when talking to his daughter. Sulfur stepped closer to straddle the bike and take a seat. He combed his hair back with his hands, and turned to face Saki. He patted the seat behind him, in a gesture for her to join him on the bike. "We're headed out of Delmarva. Keystone state is a quiet place, and that's about as good as it gets with humans. Perhaps we should spend some more time together considering that we're the last of our kind."
Sulfur did wonder what he meant by that. He never had cared about the wellbeing of any other gem, and if he had, there was no reason. In this case he felt justified to protect Saki who was essentially part of who he was. He had felt a lack of meaning, being the only of his cut remaining, but with Saki here, he felt as if that were no longer true. He now had a place in the world, even if it was a small one. He brushed the last few locks of hair from his face as he slid on his helmet.
"You won't be needing a helmet Saki, the humans are more fragile than we are." His voice sounded a bit more metallic due to the helmet.
