Pearl looked outside. All of those colors... what a rare sight, at least for her. After all, it is not like Pearls usually visited uncolonized planetoids. She had only seen fully and partially colonized planets. Her eyes were mostly focused on the leaves of tall plants. They sticked out the most compared to everything else on the planet to her. Flora organisms were a rarity on colonies. It was strange how similar plants could look so different, they appeared in different shapes, colors and sizes. They were nothing like floral patterns that were seen only in some parts of the Moon Base. Gems didn't need to care about organic life, it didn't have a purpose and had to be removed when colonizing a planet. However, her Diamond must have liked the visual aspect of some plants. It wouldn't be a crime if she admitted that she found the variety of forms of organic flora appealing to look at. She only liked it from an artistic aspect, it served no other purpose.
But it still look pretty... and so she continued to stare at the pretty leaves. It wouldn't be that long before she would be able to take a closer look at them. She wondered what the rest of the crew thought about plants. They were most likely more used to them at this point. Perhaps they didn't care at all. She wouldn't ask it of course, why would she? It was better to keep a low profile around strangers, they didn't know each other that well as for now.
Lapis' question made Melody slightly cringe. Her eyes gave a rather uncertain look with her mouth slightly opened. She wasn't serious, was she? Her hand traveled to where her right ear should have been. Fortunately, that wasn't the case and she scolded herself internally for letting her emotion get the better of her.
She watched as Lapis' uhmm... did a thing. melody wasn't sure if she fully understood science behind this, but he understood the concept. Then again, she had never seen such a technique being used by a gem with water wings. She had a small feeling that Lapis liked to show off, not that it was a bad thing, it was intriguing how she was able to find a new use for her powers. But she also didn't know how to react. Was she supposed to say something? Or perhaps applaud at her performance? And so, she just stared with her hand slightly covering her mouth. Later she did slightly turned towards Chrysoprase who gave her a look that indicated it was okay to not react at all. Melody was just glad she didn't hurt Lapis this way.
A whole new world... Melody followed the green gem and looked outside. How big really was it? How many secrets did this world held? She was about to find out. She stood behind Chrysoprase, she could see why the Captain enjoyed moments such as this one.
The slim gem was taken back by surprise at the Captain's offer. She immediately looked at her, uncertain if she heard it correctly. "...Thank you." She made few steps forward, but looked back at the green gem to make sure they are okay with it. She continue on when she saw that they are indeed fine with it. "Such an honour." She said sincerely as she approached the ground.
The Pearl's gemstone emitted gentle yellow light. She then slowly made a step forward, her foot landed on the soil of this planet. The gemstone then lost its shine, no longer emitting the comforting light. Melody turned around to see Chrysoprase "I recorded the first step step of gem kind on this planet." She played the recording and her gemstone was forced to shine again. A nearly inaudible sound of a step could be heard with no background sounds. The gem played it again, but now a bit louder. "Sounds like... regular dirt."
