A Home of Madness (Light and Red)

[Light]

Kindergarten was a home of silence. It has been rarity to hear anything besides your own footsteps in there. A place sucked out of life - No humans, no animals, no gems, even plants weren't able to grow in its soil. However, at one point the place used to be filled with corrupted gems. Many, if not most, were poofed and bubbled away by rebels after scaring away homeworld gems from the planet. They had to make sure that gem production was halted once and for all on Earth.


But what was that? A yell, a horrific sound bounced of the tall walls of the kindergarten, creating an echo that could be heard even at the very end of this cursed part of the planet. The source of this sound was constantly moving from one place to another, never stopping to rest. It was hard not to hear an unprecedented anger in its voice.



A big portion of a thin wall filled with holes crumbled and smashed into lots of tiny stones after hitting the ground. The owner of the ringing sound was now more visible than ever before. A Gigantic creature that was awfully similar to a pillbug that can be found on Earth, but with a size of a small colony ship. It must have been a corrupted gem, but the gemstone itself was nowhere to be seen. Instead, the whole skin was covered in heavy armor. It had over 14 eyes around its head. Each was gleaming red light. It was a sight to behold, but not one you would want to see up close in person.

Someone wasn't lucky, though. A certain gem entered beasts' territory. They could try to run, but the beast was determined to find them and squish them like a bug. Hiding in holes wouldn't help much for too long considering what the corruption just did to that one wall. It seemed that they red eyes gave it almost like a radar like vision. The gem could try to hide, but the creature would find them. There was no much that could be done besides trying to run.

Red always seemed to be running. In fact, much of her time spent here on earth involved running -- moving from one place to another, hiding from any living being that Red didn't want to talk to. She couldn't afford to talk after all, there was no time. Too much time had passed, so much that it made Red uneasy.

She wasn't supposed to still be on Earth, yet she's spent more time than she'd like to admit trapped on this confusing planet. She would have went back home, except there was no way to return home, all the possible ways to do so had been destroyed. No matter where she looked, there wasn't any way out. It was suffocating in a way. The Kindergarten was the only place that was..calming, it was at least familiar and she could comprehend it's existence. She had only meant to crawl into one of the holes and spend time in there collecting her thoughts -- she had to be overlooking something, there was some way out she just knew it -- but instead, she found herself wandering..which then turned into her stumbling across something that she wished she hadn't. 

She had taken off running the second she spotted it. She didn't want to see one of these things, she couldn't. But she could hear it, it had to be following her, because this earth didn't want to give her a break. Red could hear her breathing, it was shaky. She felt tired, but she couldn't stop. Maybe it was only a matter of time until she fell to the same fate as her Sapphire, but Red would rather prolong such an ending. The idea of being shattered was just too much, plus..she at least owed it to her Sapphire to undo what had been done, to bring her back. She's the one who should be here anyway..

With that thought in mind, Red continued to run, even though her body itself would prefer to rest. She had to get away and that was the only thing that filled her mind.

Anger seemed to be the most constant emotion that the beast expressed. It was seen in the red eyes and the screeching voice. It worked just like fuel that kept it working. If there were any other feelings, thoughts or desires, they must have been pushed away by the beast itself. There was only pure rage. The corruption had one and only one thing in mind, it wanted to shatter the small being that tried to run away - Just for daring to show up near its territory.

What was that? Someone else was looking at what was happening below on the ground. If Red looked up, she would notice a tall figure standing on top of a cliff. It was hard to describe them. Not only were they pretty far away, but it was also foggy and dark. It seemed that they were wearing some sort of robes and were holding a stick in one of their hands.

The figure jumped up and used their staff to boost themselves up. The item dissolved into thin air while the stranger was high in the sky. It was extremely high, could humans even jump that high? It was hard to tell.

They landed on another cliff that was closer to the beast and Red. It seemed that they were in fact wearing brown robes with a hoodie. Their facial features were hidden in the shadows... but a long pointy nose was sticking out. It also seemed that they were around Red's height, perhaps just a bit shorter. They spoke out "Close your eyes!" Their voice was strong, but it was clear that they were also concerned about the more humanoid gem. Not only that, it probably sounded familiar to Red. Their hand traveled to their chest area underneath the robes. There was a short glimpse of light. When the hand returned it was holding a small object, something that looked like a metal ball. 

The stranger focused on the bug like monster. They turned sideways 90^ to their right. They then shifted their weight to their front foot, twisted their torso and threw the object as far as they could.

The Metal ball flew in the air before hitting the monster straight into on of the many eyes. The beast screeched again and sped up while the object hit the ground. However, this wasn't the end. The ball shifted in the ground and made a ticking sounds. It was clear at that moment that it wasn't just a regular ball, it was a grenade. It wasn't something that you would normally find on Earth, though.

The weapon lit up and started to shake rapidly.  Soon enough it exploded. However, it wasn't a standard explosion, it caused no harm to the the terrain or any physical damage to the beast or Pearl... unless they were looking. The explosion could be compared to a shining star before burning out, but it wasn't hot  and couldn't hurt anyone in any way. However, it would hurt hurt if you were looking directly at it. Unfortunately for the bug gem, its eyes were one of its most powerful tools, but also its weak spot. The beast screamed in pain as it was blinded by said light. The scream was distorted and full of pain, but some could possibly compare it to that of a screaming of a human or...a gem.

If Red looked away and closed her eyes, she would be unharmed by the weapon. If she didn't listen to stranger's instruction, she would have very temporary blindness, around 30 seconds at least. The corrupted gem was of course more vulnerable to this kind of attack - the said effect would last much longer.

Red was a bit startled when she took notice of this random stranger. She wasn't expecting to see anyone, especially in a place like this. Her eyes darted between the stranger and the corrupted monster as her feet kept moving, she felt so tired, she couldn't possibly keep going. But she had to -- what if this stranger was an enemy? She already had this monster who wanted to shatter her, she couldn't handle any others. 


"Close your eyes!"

Red glanced up at the stranger when they spoke. Were they talking to her? She watched as they pulled out some small object. Her eyes went wide, what was that? A weapon? She wasn't sure, but she didn't want to stick around to find out. Red quickly looked at the wall lined with holes. Sure, the corrupted beast took out a good portion of one of the walls before, but there were plenty more that were fine, at least for now. It was at least a way to escape anyone's view. She ran as fast as her body would allow towards one of the holes and crawled inside. She then moved as far back as she could and closed her eyes like the stranger had told her to. 

There was a ticking sound. Why was there a ticking sound? Red pressed her knees up against her chest and waited for whatever it was this stranger was doing. Suddenly, there was an explosion. Red flinched at the sound, gritting her teeth. Too loud, too loud, too loud..

The beast was screaming. It sounded like it was in pain. Red brought her hands up to either side of her head, wishing everyone and everything would become silent. 

[Light]

The beast roared and roared, the red eyes gleamed with even stronger red light. It was moving rapidly, but the creature itself had no idea what just occurred and couldn't see what used to be their prey. The bug hit the walls of the kindergarten. While it didn't cause as much destruction as before, it did cause little earthquakes. Some loose rocks were constantly falling from the cliffs, but most were relatively small. Red most likely would feel those vibrations. It was hard to say for how much could the little hole endure. It wasn't out of the question that the whole thing could collapse.

The Stranger had to do something about the corruption. The problem was, the gemstone was nowhere to be seen. Interestingly enough, it seemed that while the skin looked like an actual hard shell, the same couldn't be said about the underside where the several legs were coming from. If they could just expose it. But the beast was too big, they couldn't possibly do it on their own.

Their chest glimmered once again, several decorative sticks appeared in thin air and hit the ground just like that. But that wasn't all - four humanoid figures now stood alongside him. Two on each side. They all looked identical to each other and shared a similar body type to the stranger. However, they didn't exactly look real. There was something very artificial about them. All of them had sharp edges and blue, transparent skin, almost like ghosts from human stories . They also had red emotionless eyes that looked at the beast. Those four didn't seem to exhibit any personality, they just stood , waiting for something.

Soon enough all of them reached up for a sticks that were previously summoned. The stranger yelled to the ghostly figures "Defensive formation!"  Their voice attracted the beast that was now storming in their direction, not sure what exactly did it hear. Presumable copies of the stranger raised their weapons at the angle of 45^ with one end touching the ground. The person in robes accompanied them in this.

The beast ran straight into the group. One blue figure shattered at the impact, literally. Geometric figures were floating in the air where they once stood, but soon there was no trace of them. However, the rest remained. It seemed that the beast was trying to wrestle with the group. It was trying its best to crush its opponents. But the brave team continued to stay on his path, using all of their power to keep the beast in one place. That didn't mean they would endure it for too long. As it seemed, another member of the group was close to losing balance.

[Red]

Red jumped a little when the beast hit the kindergarten's walls. She could hear the loose rocks falling and she worriedly looked around at her hole. If it were to fall apart, what would happen to her?

She brought her fingers up to touch her shoulder where her gem was located. Her Sapphire would know what to do here, she could tell her what action would be best. She always seemed to have some sort of plan for everything. But..now Sapphire was gone, and now Red only felt lost and clueless. Red wondered if the answer on what to do was always obvious to Sapphire. Red took a small peek out from her hole and glanced at the corruption and this stranger. Maybe the answer on what Red should be doing is right in front of her, yet she can't see it. She thought..it would be safer inside this hole as opposed to being out there, but perhaps being inside this hole was just as dangerous. 

So then what? Should she be running? Or fighting with her measly little dagger? The very idea of her fighting that corruption was almost funny, she could hardly hold the dagger without it feeling wrong in her hands, her Sapphire would probably be better suited to it, surely..

Besides, even if Red did want to fight, she doubted her assistance would be needed. She noticed the stranger appeared to now be accompanied by these humanoid figures, their eyes colored red. She silently watched, now figuring this stranger must not be human. She had never witnessed a human perform something such as this. So perhaps another gem? But why are they here?

The corruption then ran towards the group, one of the stranger's figures appearing to shatter upon the contact. There wasn't anything left of it. Red felt her body shudder, reacting as if that was her. She didn't want it to be. I have..to get out of here..

Somewhat hesitantly, Red slowly crawled back out of the hole and once more, she was running. She just wanted to get away, to find a way out. But even with what short rest in the hole, she still felt so tired.

Suddenly, her foot got caught up with something as she was running and Red found herself falling. This wasn't much of a surprise, even on Homeworld she wasn't as graceful as some other Pearls, but she still cursed her clumsiness. Even in a situation like this she couldn't stop tripping over something. She was in the middle of pushing herself up when all of a sudden she heard a noise which sounded eerily similar to those loose rocks from earlier. 

Looking up, Red spotted an incoming rock tumbling down towards her. It was a pretty good-sized rock, it's size was enough to pose somewhat of a threat. It must have been let loose due to the commotion happening with the corrupted beast. Red's eyes went wide at the sight of it and she made an attempt to move, but her movements felt a lot slower and the rock was moving a lot faster. It hit her right in the head before she could move away from it. 

She felt herself being back on the ground again, her consciousness being pulled away from her. She could feel the tears in her eyes as pain flooded through her head. "My..Saph--..." Her whisper trailed off as the world blacked out around her.

[Light]

The stranger heard rocks behind him, but they could not turn around. There was still a corruption to defeat and he could not afford any distractions. And so, they continued to resist the beast's attack with their team.

The holographic figures managed to slightly lift up the giant bug. The mysterious figure laid down on the ground to look at gem's belly. Sure enough, something under the monster was reflecting light, it was the gemstone, but it was way too far to reach it. Their army wouldn't last for too long. In fact, yet another figure shattered into milion pieces and vanished in thin air with no trace at that very moment. There was no time and they knew it. They reached out their hand, but to no avail, it was just too far for them.

And then, their hand and arm shone a pure white light. The arm extended itself an managed to grab the gemstone. The stranger pulled, they wanted to rip the gem apart of the body, but it was barely moving. The beast screamed, louder than usually, while another blue figure shattered. Now there were only two. Corrupted gem wasn't ready to give up and was about to crash the gem underneath it. There was a big crack sound as two stick broke nearly at the same time. It was about to be the end of the mysterious figure when - POOF. There was a big explosion. white clouds covered the whole area, making it nearly impossible to figure out what was where.

In the center laid the stranger. They seemed to have laid like that for few seconds with a gemstone in their one hand. Their limb magically returned to the right size. It seemed that they managed to rip the gemstone from the body which caused the corruption to poof. They barely stood up, If it wasn't for the last 2 blue clones, it would have surely been the end of them. The stranger looked at their companions "Well done team!" They said weakly, but with a lot of enthusiasm. "One more second and I would have been finished..." They looked at the gemstone and formed what appeared to be a brown bubble around it. They then gently tapped it which caused the bubble to disappear.

They looked around, visibly confused "Hello? Are you still there?!" They yelled as they continued to search for a missing Pearl. Suddenly, they noticed a body laying on the ground "Oh dear...!" They quickly ran up to the hurt Pearl and kneeled in front of her. Her gemstone... where was it... here on her shoulder! it was untouched "You will be fine, okay? Don't worry, I am here." She most likely couldn't hear them, but perhaps it made them feel better. "Formation uhh...- I didn't program them to carry gems.... carrying boxes formation!" The two figures approached the gem and lifted her up as if she was a box "Be gentle with her! We need to go now..."

It was hard to say how long the journey took. Perhaps it was just few minutes, perhaps more, but they did reach their destination. Red was carried to a special place... just for her to rest a bit.



Red could feel some sort of gentle light source flashing on her face. After waking up she would notice that she was laying down in some strange room. First of all, everything was white. But another thing was that it was hard to say where the roof and the walls were. In fact, it seemed as if the room had no boundaries and was like some sort of infinitive space. But it was nothing more than just an illusion. All it would take for her to notice it would be to just adjust to the lightning and concentrate on one spot. The room was actually pretty small, the walls and roof appeared to have been painted on. It looked sort of like sky with clouds everywhere, it gave it an nearly angelic look. But that was it, just walls, an optical illusion.

Now The floor and her bed seemed a bit more special. The appeared to be made out of actual clouds, but they were strong enough to withstand Pearl's weight. The bed was large and could be used by several gems, not to mention it was very comfy! In the air floated several brown bubbles witch each having a glowing orb inside. They seemed to have been the only light source in the room and because of the bubbles the roof was off-white in some places.

There was a single door in front of her. It was sort of turquoise like. It was similar to the doors that often appeared in old gem structures and temples. There was no symbol on it, but it had a brown mocha cabochon gem in the center. Not a perfect gem mind you. It appeared that the gemstone had a slight pit on one side, but besides that, it was similar to Red's own gem, just with a different color and slightly deformed. perhaps it was a Pearl gemstone as well.

There was not much else in the room... it was mostly empty with an exception of a wooden chest and a white cloud like bed stand where some old human machine stood. It looked like a  brick with some carvings on it. there was a rectangular screen on one side. The whole thing looked pretty primitive and Red most likely never saw such a device. But if she was familiar with human technology, it was a vintage human radio made out of bakelite.

Red felt her consciousness beginning to return to her. Slowly, she opened her eyes, and immediately upon fully opening them she spotted an unfamiliar sight before her. She quickly sat up, her eyes moving from one spot of the room to the next. She felt so confused, she didn't know where she was or what this place was. Did that stranger take her somewhere? 

Her eyes focused on one part of the room for a second and she noticed that, even though the room seemed like some weird magical place, it was just an illusion of sorts. How odd. Red didn't understand why this room looked the way it did. 

Red then looked around, noticing the many floating brown bubbles in the air. She nearly slipped off the bed in shock when she saw all of them. She just stared for a moment, now wondering in alarm where she had been taken. Was she going to be put in a bubble too? Was the stranger just biding their time until they inevitably shatter her? There's..got to be a way out somewhere..

Red let her eyes desperately wander the room in hopes of an escape route presenting itself. Her eyes landed on some odd device that sat on top of what looked like a white cloud. She nervously approached it, was this some sort of communications device? For what purpose did the stranger have it? Red picked it up, staring at it with confusion. Maybe..she could contact someone with it? Tell them she was somewhere unfamiliar and strange. It's..worth a try..

Red began to play around with this strange device, jumping a little when noise started to come from it. "..H-Hello?" The noise only continued with no sign of stopping. Red frowned a little and attempted to turn it off. This effort had begun to feel meaningless. The device wouldn't turn off though and Red began to panic. 

"Um, please turn off.." She quietly pleaded with the device, but to no avail. "Please, you're too loud.." She didn't want the stranger to hear. What if they got mad at her? She did touch something that must belong to them. I..I should hide..

Red didn't see many good hiding places, but she at least wanted to be partially hidden. She didn't want to get in trouble. But besides touching an odd device that might have importance for all Red knew, she didn't know the intentions of this stranger. And considering all these bubbles that are floating around in this room with orbs inside..Red was kind of concerned and scared. So hiding was good, in her eyes. 

Red looked at the bed, it was quite large, she figured maybe it could hide her at least a little. It may not be the best spot to hide, but she had to work with what she had. This room didn't have many options for hiding purposes. 

Red tried to hide behind the bed, doing her best to conceal herself. She didn't think she was doing a very good job. She found herself almost missing the kindergarten, the holes there felt..safe, almost. They weren't too bad, certainly somewhat of a better hiding spot.

She wished this room had better hiding places.

Oh, how they fill my eyes..."

The radio played, completely ignoring the red coloured Pearl. Perhaps she didn't pay attention to it, but the device emitted sounds that seemed to follow a certain rhythm, it sounded almost like a song. Not one you would hear on Homeworld. What was more interesting is that those voices coming out of a tiny speaker weren't alien! If Red took a moment to listen, she would notice that she can understand every single word. Yet, the device didn't look like anything a gem would create... or use for that matter of fact.

"...Oh, my sorrows

Sad tomorrows

Take me back to my own home..."

A tired face lifted up from an old anvil "I miss my bed..." The person said after standing up. Their eyes looked at the door to the room "M-music?" The stranger approached the source of the sound. "They are awake! At last." A small smile appeared on their face, even if Red possibly couldn't hear them or see them at that time.

Red could hear a knock on the door. There was a bit of silence for a second from the other side. Meanwhile, the device continued to play the music.

"...The world is

A bad place

A bad place

A terrible place to live..."

The door... evaporated in a way. What used to be made out of physical material turned into thick fog. A dark silhouette could be seen in the door frame. This person took few cautious steps forward before finally entering the room.

What once was a person covered in fog was now visibly a being of Red's kind. Not only was he a gem, but he was also a Pearl. But he didn't look... normal to say at least. On Homeworld someone could punish him for such an appearance. His hair was wild and uncombed, his clothes could clearly use a refreshment. But those things could be changed, there was more. He seemed to be a bit short for a Pearl. It is not like he was tiny, but he was clearly a bit shorter from Red (I suppose something around lapis' height. Then again, characters keep changing heights in the show. Let's say he would be a half-head shorter from Red). Not only that, his mocha brown gemstone that was visible on his chest was clearly flawed, it had a visible pit on one side.

The stranger wore what used to be a white tunic. Now, it was slightly gray'ish. Possibly caused by the weather. Red didn't know that, but the two right now resided in the inactive volcano. Smog and volcanic ash is meant to sooner or rather affect your look, even if you clean regularly. He wore big, perhaps slightly oversized, brown boots. His skin was relatively pale, it wasn't affected by the volcanic ash as much as his clothes. His face clearly resembled that of a pearl with a characteristic pointy nose, but he also looked a bit more masculine. Although with that height perhaps it also gave him a bit of a child like appearance. Fortunately - gems usually don't know what kids even are.

The Gem didn't have many decorations on his form... but he did have what appeared to be plant like pattern around his gemstone. A laurel wreath, something that comes from Earth. He also had a brown shawl around his arms, similar to those worn by some Agates. This with his boots gave him an almost military like look. Around his torso was a thin belt with a star.

The fellow Pearl looked for any signs of life, Red was nowhere to be seen. Or rather... she was there, just behind the bed. The gem made a weird look, not expecting such reaction. "Uhm..."


He had no idea how to react. He started to feel uncomfortable and had no idea what to do with his hands. One traveled to the back of his neck to massage it. He faked a small smile. He was going to say something, but then noticed how the radio was still playing an old human tune. He quickly approached the device that was still sitting on the bed stand. He turned the knob which made the song go away.

The strange Pearl than looked back at Red "Please, don't hide, nobody here wants to harm you." He said, clearly concerned, but also unprepared for such talk.

Red shifted a little bit in her spot behind the bed, trying to make herself more comfortable. She fidgeted with her hands while listening to the music without fully meaning to, but as she listened she came to a sudden realization that she could understand it. What's more, she could..relate to what was coming out of the device. How odd, this thing that she couldn't understand could somehow..understand how she feels. Strange. 

There was a knock at the door, immediately bringing Red back to attention. She felt like her body was just a bag of nervous energy, she didn't know how to make it go away and it definitely wasn't helping. Though she knew it would be here to stay until she was somewhere that wasn't here, if she could just find an exit then maybe..

Red felt her nervousness increase suddenly. Someone was in the room with her, there was the sound of footsteps. She felt almost like this nervous feeling had now exploded, Red was pretty sure she was shaking a little. No words were spoken for a moment, until. "Uhm.."

Red wasn't sure what she had expected for the other being in the room with her to sound like, but..the voice sounded not at all like a threatening, ruthless foe. Still, she kept quiet. It was just safer that way. 

The song that had been playing was now gone. She guessed that this stranger knew how that strange device worked. Red took a moment to take a small peek out from her hiding spot, her brown eyes nervously eyeing this stranger. She wanted to know what other possible enemy she was facing and if she could outrun them or not.

Red was quite shocked with what it was she was looking at, to say the least. For one, she immediately noticed how he was not just a gem, but a pearl, like her. His gemstone looked a bit off though and she couldn't help but wonder what was wrong with it. What was more shocking, however, was this pearl's outfit. She stared at it, unable to understand why he was wearing that, she had never seen anything like it on a pearl before. Perhaps his owner just has different tastes in outfits? But this outfit just didn't capture the grace and elegance that Red saw in other pearls back on Homeworld..

Red then stopped peeking at the other pearl. He didn't look like much of a threat. Maybe he's here on behalf of his owner? But even if he is, she felt this..hesitance within her that was keeping her in this spot. She just couldn't find it within her to move. 

"Please, don't hide, nobody here wants to harm you." 

Red curled a bit into herself, wrapping her arms around her knees. She was quiet for a bit, before finally she spoke. "How.." She tried to steady her voice, she felt like it was trembling almost. "..how am I supposed to know that for sure?" She questioned. "You could just..be saying that..without meaning it." 

Red began to feel overwhelmed, her emotions beginning to spill over. She didn't know why they decided to do so right here and now, but she guessed it had to be the encounter with that terrifying beast paired with being taken to an unfamiliar place filled with weird devices that make sound, all of it now starting to weigh on her. Wasn't the earth already confusing enough? It was all starting to feel like too much. 

Red could feel the tears on her face but she didn't bother with wiping them away, instead choosing to hide her face in her hands. "I-I don't even know where I am! I..I don't know you, I don't know what this room is, I don't know anything!" 

Red just wanted her Sapphire back, maybe then she'd actually know something.

[Light]

"Uhmmm yeah... Now that I think about this I could have prepared myself better for this talk. You really don't have a reason to trust me." He said with a nervous chuckle, but he soon continued "But you also don't have a reason to fear me, right? I mean just a few humans hours ago this corrupted gem was tumbling your rocks. And now? You are safe in a comfy bed, that must count for something." Another thing is that if he really wanted to do something to her, he had time to do this already, at the kindergarten, while she was unconscious. Her form wasn't even destroyed. But he did understand her panic, it was all very sudden. He just hoped that the two of them had some sort of natural Pearl trust or something like that.

He watched as she started to cry. He really wasn't prepared for this, was he. He looked away for a second with an uncomfortable face. He tried to think about how he was when he first arrived on Earth to look for wisdom. A small sight escaped his mouth as he turned his head towards her with a slightly more confident expression.

The gem approached the bed and took a sit, not too far from Red. "What about... you will take a sit and I will answer all of your questions?" He looked around the room. "Starting with the simplest one, this is my private room! There is really nothing more to it, it is just a simple room." He glanced at her again, hoping that she will get out of her hiding spot.

[Red]

Red felt her body stiffen. Why does this pearl know about the corrupted beast? She didn't remember seeing a pearl back in the kindergarten..unless his owner told him about what happened at the kindergarten? ..yes, that must be how he knows..there's no way a pearl could do what she witnessed at the kindergarten, after all. A pearl's purpose is to serve, not to fight. Or at least, she'd never seen a pearl fight before. It was hard to even imagine.

Red brought her slightly trembling hand up to her head as she thought about how the rock had been tumbling towards her. She didn't like that she had been so slow in moving, she preferred being faster than that. If she could have been faster..maybe she wouldn't be here now, in full unfamiliarity. But she supposed if she had been faster at a lot things, she could have prevented many events. Her eyes moved to look at her gem, the familiar regret tugging at her. She could have been faster. 

She shook her head, wincing a bit when she felt slight pain surge through. She couldn't get too wrapped up in her thoughts. She had to remember her search. She will restore what has been lost. 

She sniffled and wiped her tears, peeking once again at the other pearl. He wasn't being aggressive or anything..maybe it would be safe to come out? She could always run and hide again if he tries to do anything..besides, it would be nice to get answers. "O-Okay.." 

She got out of her hiding spot, with visible hesitance in her movements. She stood and walked over to the bed, slowly taking a seat. She glanced at the pearl, before looking back down at the floor. "Um..then my next question.." She pointed at the several bubbles with orbs in them. "W-Why do you have those things in bubbles? And, um.." She then pointed at the strange device that makes sound. "..what is that device? It's..loud." 

"Also.." Red's eyes traveled to her own gem again. She then looked directly at the pearl, moving her hands to rest in her lap where they began to clench ever so slightly. "..How long have I been here?" 

[Light]

The gem let out a small smile as the other Pearl decided to take a sit.

He gave her a strange look, she was curious about the bubbles? Very well then. His hand moved to his chest, the gemstone shined a gentle brown light and soon enough some sort of item was materialized. He grabbed what appeared to be a plastic like stick with several buttons. He clicked a red one and just a second after all orbs in the bubbles darkened, leaving no sort of light source. The room was now completely dim with no light sources. "It is pretty dark without them." While Red could barely see it, he pressed another button which brought back the lightning that was here before. "Perhaps you like different colors, eh?" He started to play with the device . With each click the lights changed colors. The whole room was affected by it,the lights seemed to be more or less just a fancy decoration. "We have got blue, green, yellow, orange, purple, pink... oh and red, would you like to stay at red?" He asked, not sure if it was wise to assume her favourite color based on her own color palette. 

The gem grew excited when she asked about his radio, you could almost see stars in his pupils. "This is a great example of Human craftsmanship! A radio, such a simple device - yet so elegant with a design from a few human decades ago. It is used to transmission information and music from this planet." Sort of similar to wailing stones, but the human design was still more interesting in his eyes. It was so simple yet effective.

"How long? Let me think..." He scratched his chin as he took a moment to think. "Around 7 humans hours I believe, not even half a moon's cycle around the Earth."

[Red]

She watched as an item materialized from his gemstone. When he pressed a button on this item, she was surprised when the room dimmed. That had been unexpected. So it seems he wasn't trapping those orbs, but rather was using them for light..that was a relief. She observed as he played around with this item, she was in awe of the different colors, it was fascinating. She visibly lit up a bit at the mention of the color red, her eyes flicking over to her gem for a second before giving a nod, the smallest of smiles on her face. "Yes..red is nice, thank you.." 

Red took notice of how excited the pearl seemed to be at the mention of the device. "Radio..so that is it's name. Well, this..radio..should listen when someone tells it to turn off." Red did wish it had listened to her when she asked it to turn. It would have caused her less panic, probably.

Red soon began to feel that all too familiar panic creeping back up on her once again when the pearl mentioned how long she had been here. "S-Seven hours?" That was..a lot longer than she had thought. "Um..oh dear, I shouldn't have been here for that long.." She quietly whispered to herself. Waves of panic were starting to hit her. Red suddenly stood up, looking at the other pearl with a look that was a mixture of alarm and hesitance. "I..I have to go! I cannot stay any longer, I--" Just then, she felt a surge of pain coming from her head when she slightly moved it a certain way, as if wanting to remind her of it's presence.  She brought a hand up to her head as if that would help to soothe it. "Ugh..I--I have some things to attend to." 

Red didn't want this to stop her. She didn't want anything to stop her. She's already been stuck here for so long, she just wanted a way out, to see a certain gem again. But it was like the world was testing her, trying to see how much she could take before finally giving up. Even so, she refused to give up. She couldn't. 

She could handle a little pain. She breathed, in and out. "Is there..an exit of some sort?"

[Light]

He let out a small smile. She did actually like red, perhaps it wasn't really that surprising, but he was going to keep it in mind just in case.

"Oh no no no, that is not how it works. It doesn't respond to verbal commands, you need to do it manually by using those knobs." He said as his hand moved towards the device to show her those dials that were sticking out. "Later models however do understand spoken commands though, but the designs... no thank you, the older ones clearly look better."

His eyes widened as the panic overcame the red Pearl again. He thought he had this under control, apparently not. The gem shook his head as he tried to reason with the fellow Pearl "What do you mean? Where do you need to go." The gem was about to stoop up, but instead raised his arm, he was about to touch her shoulder, but stopped halfway through. Who knows how would she react to that.

"Of course there is an exit. But where do you want to go?" The gem asked, clearly confused about the sudden change in behavior "You might not even find the nearest warp pad on your own." He said, but it did make him wonder what her origins were. He assumed that she was just a lost Pearl... but what if there was someone on Earth who was looking for her? He didn't know what. Nonetheless, it would be better if he didn't just let her go on her own.

"Allow me to be your guide, where do you want to go?" His voice sounded more confident, more warm. He could be there for her, help her get used to the life on this planet. He could be what Para was once for him, mentor, teacher and most importantly a friend.
