In his white and mostly empty room, a newly arrived White Beryl was doing motions on the holographic screen projected by a little pyramid, which was part of a simple, L-shaped desk. Its whiteness as well as relative simplicity and emptiness may have made the room appear stranger than it actually was to some. It gave off the feeling of stretching and going infintely wide and deep like a void, even though anyone could obviously see that it was as big as most other rooms in the Lunar Facility on this level.
The desk lay at the end of the room. To the left and right of it were cubical shelves holding, amongst other things, empty storage containers, scientific instruments and various other objects which seemed fairly random, such as crystals. All of this was ordered in perfect symmetry, even including those storage containers hidden in the walls, containing the Beryl's various hand-written notes which he had already brought over digitally. He'd destroy them eventually, but for now he had to put them somewhere. A moderate number of them were still lying on his desk, the last ones which he was working on transferring. This was virtually his only "work" for some time now. During this time he didn't go out, nor did he interact with anyone besides those gems who would occasionally enter his study because of various orders given to them. Hence, to most of those gems who wanted to know what reason a member of the White Court could have working in such a small facility, he remained a mystery. Even to gems like Bismuths and Rubies, for the scientist did not put on any requests for customization, nor did he request any other sort of help. His room possessed all the utility it needed for now, making the idea of adding something to it unnecessary to him.
Finishing up the last of his notes, he put them away in one of the hidden containers on the left wall and hid the shelf once again. Though he swore to have felt nothing during this fairly long time of solitude, he was tired. He was also out of work, at least for now. Even though he was an official scientist at the Lunar Facility now, he was still getting accomodated. Now, he was simply sitting in his chair, thinking. The image of a yellow/cream-colored Pearl passed his mind. It surprised him a little, since he'd mostly forgotten about her. Also because he found himself to be nevertheless interested in her. She didn't seem to be like other Pearls, in personality and function. It was obvious that she was atleast originally designed for musical purposes, judging by her ability, so her having a role as an administrative gem in a medical facility was very unusual. For now, she remained a mystery to him as he likely remained a mystery to her.
So the White Beryl scientist, who also called himself Radiant, was sitting peacefully in his chair, with crystalline eyes and features that presented, in the most literal sense, the emotion of absolute emptiness.
