Heavy, brazen steps getting louder and louder. Then, the slight sound of air, something being swung. Lastly and suddenly, a B O N G exploding through the room, punching Radiant full-force against the wall, the impact pressing a crater of cracks into it. Once he fell down on his knees and regained his senses, the realised two things: One, his shield was gone, having been probably set-off by the combustion, though he couldn't tell whether its laser had missed or hit: Two, the giant bell with wrench-like arms and legs running towards him with a round mace.
Instinctively, he materialised another shield just one small second before the mace would have crushed him. Once both touched, a small white flash of light marked the point of impact followed by a "cling" sound, as if two tea cups touched, and the shield parried the mace, throwing it up a little. It burst into thousands of tiny shards that had vanished before touching the floor, shooting a black laser out for a split second. It hit the ceiling, but this was not important. Radiant rolled to the right before the mace came down again sluggishly, the shaft splitting the console into two.
The concept of luck is irrational of course, but Radiant was glad that he could gain the information he needed before it was lost forever. The bell golem did not look like a corrupted gem, but more so an artificial gem-powered structure. Why should a guardian of this kind be here? As it heaved up its mace, he left those questions for later and went to more pragmatic ones. It didn't seem like his shards could to all that much against such brazen skin, but if that golem was not all to clever, he could use them as as a distraction to give Vanadinite an opening for hammering away at its limbs from behind. He looked over to the rebel now besides him getting up to her feet. While he himself stood up, he said: "Hitting something you don't know isn't that clever. Now, maybe I can distract it. You can hammer away at the legs then." As he finished, the golem was turning towards them. It took its mace into one hand, swung wide and hit itself on the bell head.
