Euclase let out the smallest chuckle at Csarites line, well at least it seemed that Beryl made a decent first impression if nothing else. Although that could backfire, or it could help. Regardless she nodded as the two Amethyst led Csarite away, turning to enter the control room.
Waiting until they were out of earshot both the Amethysts turned to Csarite, with a mischievous grin on her face one of them spoke “So you can like turn into anyone right, because I have the best idea for a prank.”
Calcite, with the tap of a few buttons, caused the interview room to darken and power down, the lights inside flickering off, leaving the room shrouded in darkness, as if the very essence of the room now rested and shrouded itself back in mystery. A slight scrape as Calcite herself stood up from the terminal, Euclase may have been unreadable but Calcite herself seemed to physically relax and let out a sigh.
Still, she didn’t relax, or ease tension, her own mind still moving through many many options as she remained nonvocal.
Waiting until they were out of earshot both the Amethysts turned to Csarite, with a mischievous grin on her face one of them spoke “So you can like turn into anyone right, because I have the best idea for a prank.”
Entering back to the control room her expression was unreadable, her hand behind her back as she strode in. A wayward glance at the others in the room, but still complete silence from her. She needed to think, about what she heard, what happened. There was irritation perhaps with Beryl piping up, it was risky, to establish another member watching like that, but at the same time, it made sense, if they were going by their own judgement instead of blindly trusting her skills and experience they were perhaps not fully aware of.
Euclase looked once more at the now empty room through the one way mirror, what had they seen, what had it looked like from their perspective. It was truly impossible for her to know, and perhaps for a second she wondered if bringing an audience was a mistake, she banished the thought, was that practicality speaking, or was that some vestige of her own ego pushing in. Witnesses were practical, gave validity where footage could be doctored and words could be twisted against you, pitfalls she had nearly fallen into in the past.
