The warp pad in front of the gem encrusted doorway sprang to life, the silhouette of the figure warping falling into place before being revealed as the the light winked out around them. "Hmm. Interesting. There appears to be a lot of naturally grown crystal here." Bluebird observed, hopping down from the pad with a dull thud from their boots. "But, not what I'm looking for." They focused their gaze on the doorway, approaching it with their palm raised curiously. As they made contact with it, they jumped back in mild surprise as a replica of their own gem appeared on the door in a small flash of light. "Well then... I guess I have no worries for getting into the temple." they muttered, an eyebrow raised. They cleared their throat and focused, their gem glowing and reacting with the one on the door. They gave a slight smile as a blue and red line cut diagonally through the door, splitting it in half and revealing a room beyond. *Now, to see if there's anything here of use...* They walked forward, the door closing behind them.
They wandered the many chambers of the temple for a while, observing the mix of gem-tech and natural rock formations with intrigue. As far as they could see so far though, there wasn't anything here to help them find out anything about what was going on with the homeworld. They sighed to themself, but pressed on further.
"I can't help but notice.... It seems you're looking for something...."
A shape lowere from the ceiling, hovering on some sort of jet-propulsion, the air shimmering and glowing around its legs and feet. Meta Autunite was seven feet tall even, and she towered a head-and-a-half over the average Gem. Her wild blue hair helped make her seem even taller.
"Maybe I can be of help?"
She set down against the floor with a click of knee-high boots on tile. Taking a step or two forward, she looked the Gem over thoroughly, sharp, mismatched eyes taking in every detail of their appearance.
"I'm the closest thing to a live-in-resident this place has these days. My name is Meta. Who might you be?"

Bluebird startled slightly at the appearance of another gem, almost drawing their weapon. When she didn't immediately attack them however, they refrained. BB looked the other gem over as she descended, taking a step or two back when they realised just how tall she was. They were only about 5 foot themself, so it was a little intimidating. Determined to not show weakness though, they met the others eyes and straightened up. "My name is Bluebird." they replied, examining the other as she was them - it was a little disturbing to be on the other end of such a probing gaze. "And I think I'll be fine." From her appearance, they couldn't quite tell if she was homeworld or not, so didn't want to risk it. "I'll know it when I see it, so... run along. Go do whatever it is you do." They waved their hand dismissively.
Meta narrowed her eyes a degree and crossed her arms over her chest, mouth twisting at one side a bit.
"What I do is look out for the wellbeing of this temple. Which means that when people just set up shop and rest, I let it be. When people come and look for a bit, then depart, I let it be. When people arrive obviously seeking shelter, I let it be."
Meta leans forwards a bit.
"But you're not doing any of those things. You've been nosing around for a while now.... Almost like you're searching for something. So I'm going to follow you until I find out what. Or, you can be a bit more polite, and simply tell me."

BB shrunk back minutely, away from the other. They didn't appreciate the aggressive tone, but judging from her size and confidence, she was likely a much stronger gem then themself. It could be possible to influence her with their voice, but seeing as she was obviously such a headstrong individual, it might not work out so well in their favour. Probably best not to try it unless she became more distracted.
Huffing out a breath to themself to calm down, they straightened out again as the taller gem did and crossed their arms. "Fine, so this is your job or whatever - but I have no intention of divulging any information to you. Nor of being polite." they turned their nose away, crossing one of their legs behind the other at the ankle. "Seeing as I have no choice in the matter, I suppose you can follow me. You won't learn much however." they shrugged, uncrossing their limbs and pivoting on foot to head down another tunnel. Sweat was beading on their brow, but they refused to give in to nervousness. They'd just have to shake off this other gem further into the temple. Then hopefully they could find some sort of sign of the homeworld gems in here and get out. If not, at least they could learn something interesting about the temple itself.
This Gem obviously didn't know anything about the temple or Meta herself. If they did, they'd have known that one, it was not the most popular place for the Homeworld personel stationed on Earth. And two? Meta Autunite was very, very hard to shake in normal circumstances. In the temple, which Meta knew well and this Gem obviously didn't, it would be like trying to lose a bee in its own hive.
"Hm. I'll learn exactly what I need to know."
As the Gem moved on, tone and body-language flustered, Meta laughed quietly and receded back into the ceiling, moving through a conduit-maintainance corridor that ran parralel to the path the new Gem was taking a few meters below her.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
