I will not take credit for someone else's work, but I have created a rp based on a fan idea: gemlings. Here is information I found online (hopefully by the original creator):
Gemlings Research
Typically, there is a "donor and a "carrier".The donor gem
does nothing but transfer the affection needed to pruduce
the geodes, while the carrier holds the geodes within their
gemstone until they are strong enough to be summoned out.
The carrier will experience fatigue, temperature fluxuation,
and pain radiating from or around their gemstone until the
geodes can be summoned.
After a few weeks of incubation, the geodes hatch into tiny,
little Gemlings! Gemlings look like miniature versions of either
the donor or carrier gems and can't do much of anything at first
besides eat and rest. They gain mobility within a few days of
hatching, and while they will grow and develop quickly, they
won't be able to summon a weapon until they are adult gems.
Gemlings need to consume material in order to strengthen their
gem, and to create larger, stronger projections of their physical
form. Rocks... Crystals... Anything that they perceive as having
mineral value.
After a Gemling's growth period is over, they can either form
into an adult by themselves, or "meld" with their siblings to
increase their size and strength. This process is similar to
'fusion', but wheras fusion is the temporary combining of two
individual adult Gems who will share the fusion's mind and
body, melding is the permanent creation of a new individual
Gem with a single conscious. Melding is a common method,
and encouraged, seeing as unmelded Gems are very small
and much weaker than Gems melded of two or three Gemlings.
(See *Ruby and Sapphire)
I promise, this was not something I thought of, but the rp and character template are.
Here is the character template:
Name (Whatever they are called):
Weapon:
Gem Location:
Species (Gem or Hybrid):
Gem (Gem Type):
Gem (picture or description):
Etc (Other Info):
