Variscite looked around the room one more time before returning his gaze to the other Gem, "Hm... Guess its a good thing I never got to see it, not missing much." ge grinned still adjusting the glasses on his face better.
Human food was very strange to him at first... the first time he ever ate any was a few hundred years after he left the Kindergarten, what was it... some kind of meat, that made him feel nasty the moment it enterd his mouth. "It has gotten alot better since then.... oh!" He snapped back from his thought to the conversation at hand. Variscite nodded before walking behind the dark Gem, looking upon the door.
"A music room? That would be nice.... what kind of Earth music do you like?" The tan Gem spoke as he began to think of all the kinds of music he had heard in his time on this planet. Just then a green shaded Gem began to shine on the door, the split forming and the doors opening to show a new room. Simple gray walls, one whole wall had a list of musical instraments handing side by side, there was what looked like a small resting area with two couches and on the other side of the room was another collection of music devices.
"Whoa.... I cant tell if im liking this place... or if it just makes me more on edge..." he mubles slightly to himself before peaking his head into the room, "Um... you first?" He said with a smile to the Dark Gem waiting for him to enter first.
"Since when?" he asked, looking at him curiously. "First and last time I ate human food was only a couple of weeks ago. I can't imagine it has changed much since then." He scratched the back of his head as he remembered the experience. It had started out fine; he had been offered a free sample on a restaurant that had just opened. It was the only way he could prepared human food, since he had not a single penny of human currency to his name.
"It's pretty good while it's in your mouth. The problem is when it goes down your throat." He shuddered as he remembered the weird feeling of the chewed food going down his throat. Gems didn't need organs or anything of the like to survive, so the food simply splattered across his insides. Or at least, that's how it had felt to Carbonado. Needless to say, he had not liked that particular experience.
He cocked his head at the question. Kinds of Earth Music?
"Huh? I dunno? I just liked their music; not really sure how they call it or anything." he scratched the back of his head, "But, I guess I could pick a favorite song. You see, when I first got to this town, I actually went into their music store; By that point I had already experienced human music, so I was excited to see what I could find."
He remembered entering the store and walking straight towards the CD player they allowed people to use. He had picked a CD that had simply asked for his attention while looking around.
"There were a lot of songs on a CD I picked. Some good, most pretty meh. But there was a single one that just clicked with me. I really liked that song."
It was a very interesting that from his point of view, seemed to speak about life choices, using a Comet as a metaphor. He had liked it for some reason. He would have loved to buy that CD, but A: He had no CD player, and B: No money to buy either a CD player or a CD.
"It's too bad I have no currency to buy any of the cool human stuff." He said as he crossed his arms behind his head, cocking a curious eyebrow as the door once again shone, before opening and revealing a... music room. Was there anything that this place didn't do? He glanced at Variscite as he offered him the first step, simply shrugging in response.
"Don't mind if I do!" He said as he took his first steps into the room, looking around the place. There were a lot of instruments around! He could recognize a few of them, which were common sight among humans. Others though, he had never seen before.
"Wow... I have no idea what to do with any of these." He said bluntly as he continued looking around, his legs moving him towards one of the couches in the resting area, letting him plop down on them, a leg casually crossing itself over the other.
Variscite was finding it odd... it was clearly because he was made on this planet, and that he has been here for so long that he knows alot of Humans and this planet. The tan Gem was watching as the other Gem spoke, he seemed to enjoy a few things on the planet, but seeing as he was only here for a short time it makes sence to him why he dosnt have much intrest in the planet.
"Wait.... you dont have any money? The green papers and metal coins? I have some... I like the metal coins they use." He said as he felt around in his shorts pocket. He few only a few bills and a couple coins, he would give it out with no problem to anyone that needed it, "At some point ill have to find this CD... and a CD player so you can hear it! Hmmm..." The tan Gem was speaking at a high speed, it was years since he had any interaction with another Gem for this long.
Once the dark Gem stepped in the room he felt it was safe enough for himself, "Good no traps..." mumbled the tan Gem before getting a good look at the walls. He looked twords the dark Gem again as he said he didnt know what to do with the instruments, "No? I spent some time learning a few... Humans are really somthing else..." He spoke before grabbing hold of a simple brass trumpet, "These are really awesome!" He said with a grin before blowing into the trumpet creating a loud horn blast that really didnt sound all that great...
"Well, I have no way to acquire currency, after all." He could have stolen it, but as little as he cared for the planet or it's laws, he wasn't about to sink himself to the level of a damned burglar. He had pride as a gem, after all. Too much to soil it with such an undignified act.
He cocked his head to the side, staring at the green bills and multicolored metal coins that Variscite had pulled out, wondering how the tanned gem got those. Had he worked in the past? It was a possibility; who knew for how long had he been around? He could have very well learned a plethora of human trades. Carbonado also knew humans weren't all that good at differentiating gems from other humans, even when most of them were of 'skin' colors and tones that were vastly different from human's own, so it would have probably been easy for him.
Maybe he was overthinking it.
"Eh, don't worry about. I will find a way to get some money. I'm sure I can get a quick job or whatever at the town." He was sure he could do just about anything a human could.
He stared at Variscite with a cocked brow as he blew on a... horn thing, sending a loud noise across the room. He wasn't an expert, but he got the general impression that that wasn't how you played that particular instrument. Looking at the wall of instruments, his eyes located a simple guitar, an instrument that he had seen in the hands of enough humans to learn it's name and how common it was for young humans in the current day and age to pick an interest in it.
"Hey, how about you try that one?" he asked while pointing his finger at the guitar, wondering if Variscite himself had learned to play it in the past.
After putting the horn down he sighed, "Yeah... never learned this one, but I enjoy the sound!" The tan Gem spoke returning it back onto the wall. Variscite couldnt help but to wonder about Gems from Homeworld, It must have been some kind of sight to see. Carbonado seems board of it and with good reason, he could only assume. Though if Varscite ever found himself there after spending so much time on this planet he might end up loseing his "cool" as the humans said.
Since food was more of a Human thing... he would have no candy or dough things to much on! He pushes the idea from his mind before returning his gaze to the dark Gem again, "Hm? Oh! That a guitar! I can kinda play it... better then the horn dont worry..." He grinned before grabbing hold of it, "Hm... where is the box thing? What do they call it..." As the word "Amp" was out of his reach his fingers flicked a string out of habbet, casuing it to ring out as if just being in this room aloud it to play.
"Oh?! Now I am starting to like this place..." The Tan Gem grinned before placing his fingers of the stings at the top and bottom half of the guitar, without useing a pick, he began to stum the strings slowly to a tune by "Shine Down" Called "45" Variscite very much enjoyed the sound of the strings as he slowly started to play threw the song, without singing of course! No one would want to hear that...
Carbonado observed with curiosity as the tanned gem connected the guitar to a small box; a musical tool obviously, though its function was not one he knew of. His mouth stood ajar as Variscite started playing the guitar, the gizmo he had connected to the guitar causing it to sound much different from the guitars he had grown used to hearing young humans play on the street. It actually reminded him of the sounds he would hear on some songs in CDs. He had wondered what kind of instrument had been used to create such sounds before; it turned out, it was just a guitar with a funny box attached to it.
"Huh, that sounds pretty cool." He noted as he rested his chin on his right palm, his right elbow on his thigh as he leaned forward on his seat, curious towards the instrument now more than ever. How did it do that? It didn't look too different from a regular guitar, other than having metal strings and a couple of pieces he hadn't seen before. He would probably need to see one being made in order to get a real idea of how it worked. He wondered if there were any Guitar factories close to Beach City.
Looking once again around the area, he wondered if there were any instruments in the room he could actually learn to play quickly enough. Probably not; making music wasn't an easy task, he would probably need at least a few months of dedicated practice before becoming even half decent at playing any of the present instruments. Still... he had to begin somewhere, and he now had an entire music room completely outfitted for him and an endless amount of time to practice.
"Well, let's see if I can master the triangle." He said with a mirthful smile on his face, moving towards the wall of instruments with no real intention of grabbing the triangle, though it certainly wasn't out of his options.
((OOC: Sorry bout that! Moble post... again sorry.))
Variscite slowed his strumming to nod his head twords Carbonado, "I spent some time playing music.... Humans seem to think im one of them if I hide my Gem... guess the blue hair and light tan skin blends in." He said with a light chuckle while resting the guitar back onto the wall. In his time here on Earth he learned a great many things from the Human Race, it wouldnt be hard for a Gem of the Homeworld to pick up on this. Music was something that he felt the humans really got right!
He watched as the darker Gem spoke of trying to play something and laughed slightly before looking around the room then stopping on Carbonado, Variscite hasnt had this long of an interaction with another Gem before, "So... I was created here, from the Kindergarten. With the whole Homeworld thing going on... does it mean anything to you?" He only asked this question because he wanted to know if it should mean something for himself.
Last Edit: Aug 7, 2015 4:10:36 GMT by Variscite: My bad....
Hummed. Created on the Kindergarten? Interesting stuff. He had no idea as to what his own creation process had been, unfortunately enough. But being a Kindergarten gem... It definitely sounded a lot more interesting than being a Homeworld gem. Earth wasn't the most exciting planet, but it had cool stuff like music and their clothes; Homeworld was just boring, plain and simple. Nothing to do but your job; then you had nothing but free time. Some might consider it a good thing, but for a gem like Carbonado, it had been nothing short of a slow, torturous process.
"Man, I wish I had been born on another planet too. Looking up Boring in an universal dictionary gives gives you a two page image of Homeworld planet." He joked as he picked up the only instrument he considered easy enough for him to handle: The triangle. He started slapping it with the small stick it came with, chuckling as he did. "What is this supposed to do, exactly?" he asked, amused.
"And I don't think so. Kindergarten is one of those things High ranking gems know about. All I know is that other gems are made there." He commented as he dropped on the couch, his tongue sticking out the side of his mouth as he fiddled around with the triangle. "But if it's any consolation, I don't even know where Homeworld gem come from, myself included. I've definitely never seen any machinery nearly similar to Kindergarten's back on Homeworld planet."
Variscite nodded his head with a grin across his face as he watched a Homeworld Gem playing a human instrament, "They use that in like.... what is it called... they have alot of instraments all playing at once, like a really big band." Variscite had seen a few shows, where groups of humans would come onto a big stage and play music! Some where calm and was just lovely, while others were loud and crazy!
"Have you ever been there? The Kindergarten on Earth that is..." He trailed off as the idea of where Homeworld Gems came from, the idea of maybe... Gems all came from other planets, "What if... y-you were created on another planet? Then they took you to Homeworld?" It had dawned on the tan Gem that he had pretty much asked Carbonado more questions today then the amount of time he spent speaking in the last month.
"Sorry... lots of questions.... but if you want I can show you how to play something? O-or we can try another room?" At this point Variscite wasnt worried about being in a strange Temple built by his "People" then to try and make a friend out of another Gem.... he was determaned not to push this Gem... this friend away with his own stupidity.
"Kindergarten? Sure, I went there once; I've been to most gem constructed sites at least once! Rather eerie place, that kindergarten. Mind you, I didn't venture too far, I was getting major creep vibes all over." He mentioned as he started frantically slapping the metal triangle with the small metal bar, "Triangle solo!" he muttered as he started smacking it furiously, before suddenly throwing it to the floor and starting to stomp on it.
"I saw that once on a Human TV thingy from a shop's window!" he mentioned with a smile, "The dude did it with a guitar, though." He muttered, giving a meaningful glance to one of the many guitars on the wall, his intentions clear. He practically glared at one of them, muttering, "You... I'm gonna break you." He said ominously. He suddenly turned to gaze at the other gem, looking at him curiously.
"What? I dunno, man. I don't remember being born in a planet; I can hardly remember anything before joining the army, actually." He commented as he scratched the back of his head, looking pensive. He then shrugged, quickly dismissing his thoughts. He quickly grabbed a keyboard off the wall, hauling it over his shoulder. "Okay, you will teach me to play this next time we come here!" he said as he walked towards the door.
"Let's go check out what else this place has hidden!"
The tan Gem watched with a blank look across his face while trying to hide bursting out into laughing as he watched the dark Gem destorying the metal Triangle. He was right though... some humans that would play things some times would smash them after the show, "I once saw a human play a guitar really well! Then he lit it on fire... seems kind of wastful no?" he asked while looking around the walls to the room again.
Variscite rose to his feet strighting his hoodie before grining again showing more of the cracks in his teeth before he relized and turned his head quickly, he locked onto the door to the room with thoughts of what else was here in this Temple. "Play wha?" He turned seeing Carbonado with a keyboard over his shoulder, "Uh... can you just take... nevermind! Im not gonna question this Temple anymore... gonna make my head hurt..." He mubled twords the end before walking twords the door, "How about... " He started thinking of the rooms that Gems could calm as their own when the door lit up with a bright neon green color that matched his Gem.
Before he could speak the door opened up reveling a rather dark room, the walls seemed far appart from each other with large gaps inbetween each wall that would close up if anyone would try to walk twords them. Every few moments the walls and the gaps between them began to glow random colors as a soft beat would fill the room, "What... is this?" He spoke as he slowly walked into the room looking down not even seeing the differnce between the walls and the fkloor as they blended together so well.
Carbonado whistled as he saw the large room's interior, patting Variscite on the back as he strolled inside casually, his arms moving to rest on his waist as he scratched his chin. His gaze moved around curiously, taking in the details of the room, the strange neon colors flashing around them and the enclosing walls.
"Damn, Varsicite." he said as he turned to the tan gem, "I've no clue as to what's going on in your room." he said, smiling as he crossed his arms behind his back. Everything was so weird! His room was pretty normal, as far as he could tell. Much like a larger version of his own room back on Homeworld; much larger, for that matter.
"Let's explore this place, who knows what stuff we might find in this crazy place; it seriously makes me wonder about your head, by the way." He commented, poking his tongue at the taller gem as he moved deeper into the room.
Variscite was in awe of the room they had stepped in, the beat slowly grew louder as the door shuts behind them dissapering. The neon lights flashing brighter to the soothing beat, "My room?" He asked the dark Gem as he crossed his arms seemingly in thought. This place always seems to throw a curve ball at him, now its reading his mind to make him a room? That is an awful idea! Variscite had a hard time exsporing his own mind half the time... now they are IN a room made from his head?
"It seriously makes me wonder about your head, by the way." Caught his attention and made him chuckle softly, "This might not be the safes room here... I MAY have some things I have to work out with myself I guess... your room dosnt look anything like this?" Was his room really that weird? The beat would grow louder the closer either of them got too close to the walls, a very quick sound kept making Variscite turn his head as if he was hearing a voice calling out, "I sware im hearing voices n-now... yay..." The Gem sighed rubbing his neck, "Hmmm.... we need somthing to sit on..."
As the tan Gem thought of this a whole formed in the center of the floor and up rose a simple very bright white couch that was sticking out in the room like a VERY sore thumb, Variscite only looked at the couch not moving yet... this place really only got stranger!
Carbonado smiled at him, simply shrugging. "My room looks nothing like this. It actually looks a lot like the one I had back in Homeworld, though much bigger, thank fully enough." His room was fairly standard, though it also had a few interesting features for Carbonado to entertain himself with.
He glanced at Variscite when the floor suddenly pushed up and morphed into a couch, an eyebrow cocked at the Tan gem as he moved towards it, quickly spinning and letting his butt plop on it, leaning against it lazily. "Well don't mind if I do!" he said, propping his legs on one of the sides of the couch. Hearing the loud, soothing beat of the room, he bobbed his head in sync, a small smile on his face.
"Wonder what other secrets your room has." he said, looking around. He still couldn't discern much from the room.
Variscite seemed to only get more worried the longer they were there, he knew his mind and it was hard for him to stay in the right mind set while just walking around, now they are pretty much in his head? This idea only scared the tan Gem even more, "This is cool... I think we should go while its still like this..." He was looking really uneasy at this point. His voice had even cracked slightly as he was taking steps back away from the couch, the beat only grew louder as a small autotuned sounding voice joined the mix "D-D-Dont let us in! D-Dont lo-lock us away! S-So alooooone..."
It was only getting worse for him by the moment, "D... Did you hear that?" He said with his eyes open very wide, a panic was setting in for him and the room was picking up on his mental state. He had back up just about to the wall, after being alone for as long as Variscite has it almost makes sence that the isolation has taken a toll on more then just his personailty.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.

Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
