Fuscite looked out of the cockpit window and down upon the planet before him. Large and primarily blue, Fuscite started up the engines and began his descent towards the planet's surface. Checking over several screens, Fuscite activated the HUD on the visor of his pilot's helmet. "Shields are holding up, hull integrity at... 98%. Engines 3 and 5 still need repairs. Entering stratosphere... now." The view from the cockpit became convoluted with red as the ship breached the atmosphere. "Heat shields steady." Calling out, Fuscite eased the ship's angle of entrance. "Hey Andradite, how's the comms holding up?" The view outside the cockpit became a little less red, and Fuscite chuckled. "There's quite a bit of oxygen on this planet. Dihydrogen monoxide as well, probably." Fuscite scanned another screen while waiting for Andradite to reply. "Engines 3 and 5 are holding their current condition. I hope we land before they fail. Don't want another Andrus Prax..." the pilot mumbled to himself.
It was a new experience for me, not having a purpose. Since my cultivation Ive had a mission. I was charged with the protection of my sisters Melanite and Topazolite. It was my duty to keep them safe and I had failed. I had failed. I had failed to keep Melanite from becoming a terrorist; destroying an entire planet! I still don't know why she did it, I barely had any time to even notice it was happening. Because my blindness I had condemned billions to death. But even that was not what weighed on my heart the most. I had failed to keep Topazolite alive. She was a precious soul, pure, a light that I had let die. The shards of her gem embedded by her own dying hand into my chest to keep my pathetic life from fading with the planet was a constant reminder of my failure.
That was months ago. I now find myself in some Gem`s starship nearing a new planet to survey. Fuscite, the Gem that saved me from the depths of space was gracious enough to allow me to remain on the ship and join him on his missions. His was not too different from my own family`s mission though the specifics varied. But over time I began to wonder what the use it of it all? None of his reports have had responses and my own transmissions have gone unanswered. Perhaps the homeworld no longer cares for our mission or we've become obsolete. Then again we've been gone for thousands of years, most of which I was unconscious for. Perhaps they think we're dead...
An indication from the communications array brought me out of my head. A transmission? I took a quick look at the communication protocol, a transmission from the homeworld?! I couldn't believe it! Finally a response! Hold on, the transmission isn't directed at the ship... It... must have been picked up by accident. But if it's not meant for us it must be... the planet below... but why? For who? My fingers move quickly over the keyboard eager to open the message. As it opened on the screen I watched... ﾞ-ea-e,p-a-e w-rk" The voice was distorted and the signal seemed to be mostly static "- do-'t know if this is going to get through" I made some quick adjustments to the array hoping to clear some of the static... but the message remained distorted to a degree. I managed to clear up the audio enough to hear at least but the image faded in and out... The messenger appeared to be a pink Gem in distress.
"I don't know... I'm ... trap... so many of you... stop the----nd delay them. *vuerrrrrrrrsk-e Homeworld... destroy this planet *kkuuurshhh* like so many of the others... kinderga-*raining the life frplanet... don't deserve that fate and I should have stood up against it sooner." "Homeworld will come *bereeeefsh* beg of you to protect the planet, save the humans, the plants,the-werpv* Save the Earth.... doest matter what Homeworld defined as you... protect Earth like us... be free... rystal Gem, marked by the stars above... Guardians of Earth." I was without words. Gems are coming here, Gems ARE here? And we're are headed right towards them! But what of this invasion? The homeworld's plan is to destroy this planet? Why? For, wait... was Melanite trying to do the same thing? Was that her plan? My mind was going everywhere trying to connect the dots. It was just a random message but it brought so many questions. What do I do now? My hand wandered to the gem on my chest, I can almost hear Topazolite if I really try hard to remember. A moment of clarity flowed through my body like a wave and I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
My name called from the bridge caught my attention. Fuscite must be preparing to land. As I move up to the cockpit I'm trying to formulate exactly how I'm going to break it to him. Whatever what will be said there's no doubt in my mind. I'm done with this mission.

Fuscite flew through the skies, looking down at the surface for a good area to land. The pilot looked at a screen and made several strokes. "Engines 3 and 5 should hold if nothing bangs the ship too hard." Fuscite glanced back and saw Andradite approaching. "Andradite, why are you so quiet? Something wrong with the comms?" He asked while pressing some buttons on a secondary console. "Hold on, we're getting into the thicker part of the atmosphere now. Easing up..." Fuscite slowly pulled back a throttle and the ship started slowing down a bit. "We need to find a good area to land. I can't keep straining the engines or they might blow." The green gem looked back at Andradite, slightly leaning in his seat. "Andradite, what's wrong?"
Andradite observed Fuscite at work. He was truly a gifted pilot but even an expert can't make a perfect landing with a ship on the verge of falling apart. Perhaps I should wait until we land... No, the message may factor into where we choose our landing site; this could not wait.
"The communications array is functioning properly," he took a moment to peer out the window, "in fact we've intercepted a communication, meant for the planet and the Gems on it. "
His fist wound tightly against itself, betraying his calm exterior. "Homeworld is coming to the planet... ". Bringing his focus back to the pilot he continued, "they're planning an invasion. Fuscite, we have to do something." The descent of the ship caused it to shake slightly but he stood static. " They're going to suck it dry... "

Fuscite turned his attention back to flying, and made several adjustments. "Seriously, we need to land soon or gravity will do it for us." He steered the ship slightly to the left, and he noticed a large statue carved into the side of a cliff. "Homeworld is coming? Gems are already here? Hrm... Maybe another Fuscite. And Andradite, why do you think we landed on all those planets and transmitted? This is just another rock, Andradite. All that matters is the mission. Do not forget that." Fuscite lessened the throttle, and the ship began slowing down. "That cliff looks like a good place. I'm going to do a fly-around." Fuscite pointed back towards the storage area. "Get the scanner ready. I need to repair the engines once we touch ground." The pilot spawned a Holo- Fuscite, who went and grabbed one of the several protective suits. the hologram nudged past Andradite and slid one of the gauntlets on the green Gem's arm. Grabbing the controls with said arm, Fuscite raised his other, which was also quickly gauntleted. With both hands on the controls, Fuscite slowly walked up the ceiling of the cockpit, still piloting the ship. Holo- Fuscite slid the bottom half of the suit onto the pilot. The now semi- armored Gem then slid back into the cockpit, adopting a normal posture. The chestplate and shoulderguards fell into place. The archaic ship was zooming through the air, heading towards the cliff.
Andradite walked towards the pilot placing a hand on his shoulder, "This time it's different, there are actual Gems here. We have not seen another of our kind since we started traveling together."
He gave the pilot shoulder in gentle nudge before dropping his hand as he turned around headed towards the back of the ship. " I`ve been questioning whether your mission serves a purpose." Andradite clapped his fist into the palm of his other hand, "its udderly pointless!" He shouted.
Turning back towards the pilot he stood fists raised in a stance of determination, "Homeworld doesn't care for your mission anymore, they don't even acknowledge you!" Andradite looked down towards his fists, his eyes losing their intensity, "Ever since my mission failed I've been looking for a reason, something..." his voice nearly broke. No, this is not the time for this self pity, he thought to himself. Shaking away his pathetic thoughts his expression filled with renewed vigor. "and just by chance something, a message, found its way to me guided by Providence! Abandon this pointless mission, stand for something! "
His gem began to glow, almost as if his hammer could feel his passion. It wanted to fight!

Fuscite sat in silence for several moments. "They never cared. I was made to die out in the stars. A one-trip ticket. All they wanted was what I transmitted. Nothing in life is truly just, Andradite. Everything is done for some kind of gain. Gems or not, I will not stray from the mission." Fuscite steadied the ship a bit. "You may have failed, but I will not." The pilot pressed several buttons. "We're almost to the cliff. If you want to stay with these other gems this broadcast supposedly was sent to, I will leave you here." Holo- Fuscite walked towards the comms relay. The ship tilted slightly to the right as Fuscite made a fly-by, looking down at the cliff. "We'll be landing in a few moments." The pilot said after several minutes of silence.
I don't know why I was shocked, I've been with him long enough to know exactly how he would respond but today... I was operating on a completely different wavelength. My lip was twitching in an angry snare, my breathing almost hyperventilating...
In a flash my hammer revealed itself on my arm, its size too large caused the ship to rock with the sudden weight. I raised it up over my head, "This ship is landing NOW!" and with that I brought it crashing down to the deck with all my might. The ship did not like that very much and its systems were indicating very loudly to state the obvious something was wrong. I wasn't thinking clearly. I swing it to the side taking out the wall. The rushing air pulled the debris out and the sudden change the ships integrity was throwing us off course.
"I'm making a choice, this partnership is over " with that I turned to the opening in the ship and my body began to glow as it converted to light. A ability I really used, radiant retreat. "When the Gems come from homeworld... avoid them" and as a beam of light I shot from the ship into the unknown world.

Fuscite struggled to keep control of the ship as Andradite blew a giant hole in it AND blew engines 3 and 5. The ship fell into a giant corkscrew, slamming into the cliff and sliding along it. Fuscite was thrown around in the cockpit like a ragdoll, held only by the straps in the seat. He managed to peel the ship off of the cliff, and it flew downwards into the sand of the beach, rolling several times and coming to a rest. Inside the battered ship, Fuscite groaned. The visor on his pilot's helmet was cracked, and he struggled to undo the straps attached to the seat. He crawled towards the rear of the ship, and made sure the comms relay was still intact. It had taken some damage, but the way the ship was built ensure the damage it sustained was minimal. Fuscite, using the walls of the ship as support, took off the pilot helmet and donned the protective suit's. "Ugh..." the green gem moaned. He looked towards the hole in the ship, and started towards it, stopping just before exiting and leaning on it.
Variscite was alone on the beach, it had been interesting the last few days, seeing the Temple and knowing it was safe... for now. He had pulled off his white hoodie reveling the green T-shirt under, he drops back onto the sand looking at the sky, "So lets see... nothing has attacked me today... other then those dogs! Ugh! Nasty things..."
At this point Variscite was off in his own little world, thinking of what he is doing when a loud bang echoed past him. This brought him to his feet fast, "Gah! I knew it could only be a matter of time!" The tan skinned gem called out aloud. He figured a monster was about to come around the cliff base. Then as soon as the ship crashed around the side of the wall he sighed, "Why me..." He said in a calm tone before turning and running safely away from the wall, only for the ship to change into his direction.
"COME ON!" He cried before dashing just in time to avoid most of the ship, but a nice chunk of ship smacked him in the back of the head, dropping him to the ground outside of the ship with his face in the sand. "Ughh... " was all he could say while he rested on the ground.

Walking along the sand, from another patch of her precious humans, Morganite's emotions became less numb and she decided she felt happy at the moment. Today she had finally tried some human food and had to deal with a terrible stomach ache, though it was delicious, but it was nice to be alone. Slightly loosening her black scarf from its almost choking hold around her neck and gem, Morgan breathed deeply and felt the sea air on her skin.
Pricks of dread and... Annoyance? Dabbed at her enhanced empathy and she groaned extremely loud. Then waves of pain hit her, followed by melancholy, and finally a rather determined anger. With this piquing her interest, Morganite took a run for the cliff side and arrived just in time to see every event unfold. A gem ship go down, one gem jump from it, and another be hit by a chunk of debris. An overwhelming sensation of fear took hold of her, but Morganite could not abandon anyone, no matter who they were.
Taking the guise of a human once again, the pale skinned and red haired gem bolted towards the wreckage.

Fuscite stepped out of the wreckage of the ship, and fell to his knees. With his right hand, he activated the HUD on his helmet. Putting his hand back down, Fuscite slowly got up. He turned around and observed what remained of his ship. He stumbled backwards, and fell down. "Nrgh..." Fuscite mumbled as he slowly sat up. "This is not how I wanted to land, but at least the comms are intact." He jolted his head to the side when he noticed a figure bolting towards him. He immediately spawned several Holo-Fuscites, who ran to guard the ship, or rather, guard the comms. Fuscite himself slowly got up again. He was dazed from the crash, and he knew it. The pilot took a step towards the ship, followed by another. And another. He slowly made his way back to the hole in the hull, and reached for the warped alloy so he could use it to support himself.
Even in a state of emotional upheaval I had to focus. When I'm moving this fast I can't perceive the world around me.
I stay in this form too long there's no telling where I'll end up. Anything reflective can change the course and last time I checked I was abandoning ship over sapphire oceans. Would be just my luck to be shot off into space when I finally found a rock I wanted to stay on.
4...5... wait. Dammit.
My light condensed back to form my body and I found myself coasting over some sand. No longer being light I fell back towards the ground. I crashed into the sand rolling head over heels for a good few yards. When I finally came to a stop I elected to stay there, laying face first in the sand.
Variscite was at this point more tired then upset, the tan gem pulls up his head in time to see... "This is too much..." He mubled upon seeing the following. One, a group of Gem... Holo-Gems that are around the ship. Two, what looks like a human female running in the same dierection as the crash, Three a Gem fall out of a beam of light and.... A HUMAN!
"What if this ship belongs to an enemy of some kind? Humans are all squishy!" He spoke aloud to himself jumping to his feet, after glancing twords the group of Holo-Gems he dashes closer to the human female before turning around once he grew close enough to her, "S-Stand back! This might not be a safe place for a human soon..." He mubled without looked back at her, "Please dont be a villian...." Was all he could think of as he waited to see what was gonna happen next.

The red haired gem skidded to an abrupt stop almost toppling on Variscite. Trying to ignore the gems emotions while they wafted off of him, Morganite took a convincing human timid stance and her expression contorted to that of one of worrry.
"Oh! Sir, I'm so sorry, I almost ran into you!" She said in a slightly shrill voice, hoping that her human guise was strong and convincing enough for the other gem not to realize that maybe she didn't look as squishy as a normal human. With a gasp, she tried to get around him to look at his face.
"You got hit by a piece of debris right? Oh goodness, are you okay, sir?" Morganite inspected his head with a false sense of worry. Well she did worry a little bit, but she knew he was a gem and very resilient to most things a human wouldn't be.
"Huh. You seem to be fine... But you got hit on the head, I saw it."

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption" is being treated like a virus due to lack of info about it on the show.
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
