"Why.... does this always... happen to me!" The tan skinned Gem called out as he dashed across the sea of sand known as a desert. At first sight one might only see Variscite running, tripping, sliding, and running again across the open sand, not too far behind him was what looked like a sand storm following in his foot steps. Upon looking closer or just listening to the sound of the storm, one could see a small army of what looked like very large scorpions. Not just any giant scorpions of course, but corrupt Gems that all must have been sleeping in the underground cave that Variscite... we will say "found" for not wanting to say fell into.
While not just mindlessly running away, Variscite was being smart and dropping his crystal ball from his flail as he would run, once the scorpions closed in on it he would set off a his crystal ball bomb, making a loud echo of a "BANG!" threw out the desert. This was slowing down the scorpions and taking a few out each time he did so but, the amount of time he had to run in between resetting his crystal ball and setting it off again was adding up, "OH COME! ON! HOW MANY OF YOU ARE THERE!?" He yells out back to the corrupt scorpions as if they would reply to him. He knew he had to turn and fight soon.... but maybe lets try to take a few more out first....
Fluorite was taking in her gaze at the vast desert, admiring the interesting parts of the Earth. How did all this sand get here? She slightly squinted her eyes as a small wind traveled through the sands, sweeping it into the air. Fluorite looks up toward the sky, smiling to herself with the thought of nature's beauty. With only a small window of time to get comfortable on where she stood, her ears tune in to the screams. She quickly averts her stare from the sky and over to the tan-skinned gem, dashing alone. Huh? What're they yelling abou-. Her eyes widen at the sand storm following behind.
With haste, she pressed her hands together, the gems illuminating brightly before separating her hands. In a flash of light, a clone appeared by her side. Both Fluorite and the clone were armed with a chain-liked-sword, varying in colors. Fluorite and the clone broke out into a sprint toward the running gem. "Hey!" They both shout. "Need help!?" Her attention shifts between the scorpions and the other gem, still attempting to keep up with their paste.
Sprinting is something Variscite had been good at by this point, calling his crystal ball back to his chain. The shards quickly formed together and the ball dashed under the sand to return back to the chain and Variscite. Before he was going to drop another bomb behind him he heard a voice call out.
Turning his head slight and getting the site of what looks like two of the same Gem running to help, "I think I could use some help... but f-first!" He called out jumping up and spinning to launch his crystal ball from his chain into the front of the pack of corrupt Gems. The ball causing a loud bang as it blew up on impact, sending some of the scorpions flying into the air.
Variscite stopped and turned towards the small army of scorpions that stopped for a moment after the bomb going off, hissing and snapping their large pitchers. "I'm Variscite and I hope your up for a fight!" He said with a grin whipping his chain over his shoulder as the crystal ball shards left from the bang dashed to Variscites chain and reforming the large heavy crystal ball.
A beam of light shot up into the sky as Indy warped in, then materialized onto the desert warp pad. He blinked a few times as he realized he had accidentally warped to some sandy looking place and was about to warp out when screaming, yelling, dust clouds, flying scorpions, and big surprise, other gems caught his attention. He smiled wryly as he mused and mumbled to himself, "Maybe gems are the dominant species on Earth?" The blue gem blinked a few times as he saw Variscite and Fluorite prepare to fight the horde of corrupted gems. Indy let out a slight sigh as he drew his sword and began jogging his way towards the gems. He couldn't understand how he ended up in so many situations where he had to fight, but he shrugged as he made the conclusion that gems and violence were probably inseparable.
(Ok I'm going to do something i don't often do and jump right in. (Hope I don't make a fool of myself)
Yellow Amber looked around the hot waste land, "And corrupted gems are supposed to be here how?" She asked herself, Just then the other gems caught her attention and she noticed they were preparing to fight a sandstorm thing. "Why are they fighting a sand-" She was cut off as she noticed the scorpions. Great. Well it was she had found a corrupted gem, Well really they found it. She watched as they began to prepare to fight it and she sighed, "Violence. The beauty of gem culture." She said. She considered her options. Help. Or let them fight it... She sighed and her gem began to glow, She pulled out a large hammer and started to run (Fast as she could with a hammer) Over to the others. Thinking to herself, I hope I don't get late to the fight.
It was warm, the sun beaming down on Hemimorphite's pale blue skin. She raised her hands towards her face and let out a small huff, her eyes then glancing over at the vast area before her; One could get lost in such an area due to how extensive it was. "Hm..." The gem murmured, her fingers then pinching at her hijab, fixing the cloth to shield some of her face so that sand and debris wouldn't annoy her as she sauntered along the tan dunes.
Her walk at first was rather peaceful, yet soon, was disrupted by the distant cries of someone in need. "My word..." Hemimorphite grunted and summoned her bow, her brows furrowed as she soon turned on her heels to investigate the scenario. As it had turned out, multiple gems appeared to be in the same area, however they were about ready to fight something. She stood on top of a hill, kneeling down to one knee and lifting her bow to her face and pulling back the thin string. A pale blue energy materialized into a sleek translucent arrow, resting between her fingers as she held the weapon in her hands, ready to release at the sight of an enemy.
"Now, what do we have here?" Using her eagle vision, she surveyed the area, her nose scrunching up in a cringe as she spotted the many scorpion creatures. Well, although there were a few gems already willing to aid in battle, it wouldn't hurt Hemimorphite to at least them them... She took in a deep breath and released the arrow, piercing through the rough exterior of a scorpion.
Fluorite was amazed by the explosions of the new gems weapon crystal ball. "Neat," they nod to him, as they eyed the scorpions rise into the sky and fall back down with a thud, sand spreading outward again. "We're ready to provide assistance," Fluorite and the clone prepared themselves into an defensive stance, ready to jump in if needed. "Oh, and we're Fluorite." They release a small giggle as they watch Variscite's weapon reform. "Pleasure to meet you and we're prepared."
Fluorite and the clone begin moving side to side, focused on the corrupted gems. Now, how to approach this. Far too many to just handle ourselves. "Any plans?" she raises a brow, scanning the enemies for their sudden moves to attack.
Variscite smiled looking at the new twin Gem that had joined his fight, "Provide assistance? Heh... " He was going to say a witty line as he realized another Gem was joking his way over, one he had seen before but couldn't place where he knew him from. THEN he turned to see yet another Gem running their way with a hammer in hand.
"Fluorite yeah? Um... you k-know any of the Gems charging at us?" He asked starting to think maybe... the corruption of the Scorpion Gems might have brought out more corrupted Gem after them. "And a plan? B-beat that crap out of all these clods!" He called out as he began whipping his ball and chain around over his head and launching the ball into the crowd of scorpions as they hissed more and a few began to split away from the main pack and work their ways twords the new Gems joining the fight.
((Feel free to take out a few corrupt Gems, they are pretty much n00bz so have fun!))
Fluorite's attention broke from the scorpion to follow over to Variscite's gaze, "Huh? Gems charging at us?" The clones stood in a defensive stance against the scorpions as Fluorite investigated the blue gem making his way, "Oh! I know him!" She took a deep breath and leaned forward as she shouted toward Indy, "Indy!!!" Fluorite didn't care much for the other gem with the hammer coming. She turned back around to Variscite as he spoke again, "Beat 'em up. We've got it," the clone and Fluorite spoke. Fluorite glared at the scorpions departing from their group as some went for the Indy, quickly following behind with the clone by her side. "Where are you going, big guy?" they giggle. "Indy, incoming!" They alerted as the scorpion ran after.
Indy slowed his jog towards Fluorite and eventually halted as she called out to him. He shaded his eyes with one hand and watched as a small group of scorpions peeled away from the main group and began heading towards him. He slumped over as he realized he would have to deal with them first before being able to make it to the duo. He was vaguely aware of other gems making closing in on the pair as well, but he had no time to identify them. Taking a deep breath, Indy drew a second short sword and used his telekinesis to lift it. The blue gem's eyes narrowed as he began formulating a plan. Okay so there's 3 total, one's coming straight, and the other two are flanking from the sides... The first scorpion to approach was the one to Indy's left, and it immediately lunged at the blue gem. Indy was caught a bit off guard, but he quickly reacted and easily sent his floating sword through the scorpion, poofing it. He had only a moment to revel in his glory when Indy was forced to block an attack from the front from the scorpion directly in front of him. This corrupted gem was a bit smarter than its comrades and quickly backed off once its initial strike was negated. Indy raised the sword in his hand in preparation for counterattack of his own, when he spotted the right scorpion creeping up on him. Without batting an eye, he ran his floating sword past the scorpion in front of him, and watched as it buried itself into the sneaky corrupted gem. The frontal scorpion decided to take advantage of this brief moment of distraction and threw itself at Indy. The blue gem was barely able to turn before he felt the massive weight take him down. There was an audible sound as Indy hit the sand, with the scorpion directly on top of his lower body. Indy grit his teeth as the scorpion unleashed a barrage of attack with its pincers and tail, and the only thing stopping him from poofing out was the sword he was frantically using to block the attacks.
Yellow reached the scorpion storm and began to smash a scorpion annoyed with there numbers, She started swinging her hammer around violently, Hitting two scorpions with the spin. She gasped for breath as more scorpions came from all sides, "Why is there so many?!" She asked as she beat down another scorpion, Hitting another one with another spin, She gasped and backed up a bit, The weight of the hammer getting heavy to keep swinging around. She quickly ran back into the fray and hit another. She knew there where others with her and she let out a sigh of relief, It felt nice to be able to fight with others instead of alone. Then again, She didn't like to fight anyway. But she shruged off the feeling and started smacking another scorpion.
Over and over again, she repeated her fluid movements, drawing the string back and releasing a slim arrow that shot through the air silently and piercing a corrupted gem one at a time. She was counting her hits, 1... 2... 3... Her distance aiding her at her hits. The large herd was so focused on the close combat gems that most had completely ignored Hemimorphite's presence, falling over like cows and puffing into a plume of gray smoke. However, some managed to take notice of her, despite the distance since they saw the arrows whiz past them. No matter, currently she aimed her arrows at the corrupted creatures attacking a darker blue gem. To make a much more powerful impact, she drew her string back farther, bending her bow slightly as she released fury upon the scorpion in combat with the fellow gem. The first arrow, although successful in its impact, required a second, in which Hemimorphite kindly released and decimated the monster.
A small group of corrupted gems separated themselves, making its way towards her. This became rather troubling since it took multiple hits to take one down. In frustration, she gritted her teeth and ceased her current pursuit on the grotesque insects near the dark blue gem, paying close attention to the smaller herd making its way towards her.
A quick glance at the battle field, it was almost like a controlled choas at this point. The corrupt Gems have spread themselfs out alittle more to deal with all the new threats around them. Variscite brought his crystal ball back to its chain link with a whip of the chain, he watched as arrows flew in from an unknown location at first but by the second Gem taken down by them I had a point on where they originating from. "An archer? In the desert... s-sounds like a bad poem..." He mumbled to himself.
He also noticed the pack moving towards this Gem, turning to see the battle around him, the Gems fighting were all well trained for battle... at lest had skill in the subject. Taking off in a sprint toward the Gem firing arrows into the scorpions, if the Gems weapon was a bow and arrow it might not be too great if they gang up on it. Giving his flail a quick swing he launches the crystal ball towards a scorpion smashing into one sending it flying before it poofed, getting the group to stop and draw some of the attention away from the blue female Gem now being close enough to see her.
Fluorite and the clone were still falling short behind as the scorpions made it to Indy. They examined the fight, seeing Indy was clever with handling the scorpions. "Alright, Indy!" They cheered as they still ran, though to Fluorite's surprised, Indy was pinned against the ground with the last scorpion attacking at him. Fluorite and the clone had the chain-like sword whips wrap around each other to increase the length as they still dashed. After a gallop, she swung the chain-whipped swords over to the scorpion but suddenly jerked it back after an arrow pierced the scorpion and poof. "Huh?" Fluorite had a hard time comprehending where the arrow came from. She and the clone both shrugged and sent down a hand to aid Indy up back to his feet, "Are you okay?"
Indy was in a pinch to say the least. The blue gem was pinned down by a scorpion, frantically blocking its attacks. He quickly tiring, and was unsure if he was going to make it out of this scrape in one piece. Just as he felt that the scorpion was going to break through his defense, the scorpion jerked quickly, and stopped its onslaught. He coughed as he finally spotted the arrow that had sprouted from the corrupted gem's side. A few moments later another arrow appear in the scorpion, and he sprung out of his paralysis. "EUGH!" Indy quickly grabbed the scorpion's face and threw it off his legs, then plopped back down into the sand to catch his breath. The corrupted gem poofed beside him, as he heard the sound of footsteps approaching. He lifted his head to see Fluorite approach and attempt to help him up. The blue gem blinked a few times before waving her hand away. "Yea.. I'm fine.. go help the others.." He then promptly dropped his head, staring up into the clear blue sky.
