As a part of Indicolite's resolve to explore the extremes of planet Earth, the blue gem was currently plodding up the side of mountain in the state known as Alaska. The blue gem deliberately lifted one leg after the other, looking nowhere else but his own legs repeating the same mechanical action over and over. He attempted not to look up, knowing that the less he looked at his progress, the faster the trip would seem. Don't look up... just keep going... you'll know when you get there... It was silent for the next few minutes, with only the crunching sound as Indy trekked upward. Don't look up... DON'T LOOK U- The blue gem looked up and groaned slightly as he took in his surroundings. He was grateful for the pine trees that dotted the snowy mountain, helping to spice up the blank landscape. What he wasn't grateful for, however, was the fact that the peak didn't look any closer than it did an hour ago or a few hours ago for that matter. Looking back to his feet, Indy shook his head in disappointment. You are weak! You looked up.... Don't look up until you're at the halfway point from here to the peak....
Still, Indy couldn't complain too much about the climb. As opposed to being at the base of the mountain, the warp-pad to this location was about 1/4 of the way up, so the blue gem was able to get a head start. He wondered why he was here, what was motivating him to explore the far reaches of the Earth. Indy smiled slightly and shook his head, as he wryly thought, the humans must be rubbing off on me... Even though climbing this particular mountain was considered a 3 day ordeal for humans, Indy had managing it quite well, currently sitting at only 7 hours. Just goes to show how much stronger gems are compared to humans. Despite his previous promise to not look up, the blue gem did so anyway, taking another look at the peak. Once again he groaned.
A few hours later, Indy made it to the top. The sun was constantly in the 'sunrise' position, so it was hard to tell how long he'd had been here, but Indy was proud of himself nonetheless. The tip of the mountain had only a 3 meter diameter to stand on comfortably, and Indy decided he was ready to start heading down. The blue gem happily began making his way down the other side of the mountain. About 30 minutes into the journey down, Indy felt a rumble come from the top of the mountain. He turned around to witness something that made him shiver. A wave of snow was starting to build up from the top of the mountain, and it was approaching horrifyingly quickly. Indicolite looked around, a plan already formulating in his mind. A few meters away was a fallen pine tree, and he sprinted quickly to its side. Drawing his longsword, Indy hacked a log about 150 cm off of the tree and quickly threw his longsword aside, poofing it in the process. Now pulling his short sword from his gem, Indy cut the log roughly in half, splitting it into 2 hemi-cylinders. The blue gem looked up quickly and almost had a heart attack, the wave of snow had grown to enormous proportions, and was about 3/4's of the way to him. Picking up his pace, Indy carefully hacked out 2 scoops from one of the half logs, each about the size of his foot. Once again throwing his sword aside, Indy jumped up onto the makeshift snowboard that he had just created and wobbled uncertainly as he regained his balance. Almost as soon as he had done this, the log began sliding down on the snow, taking him away from the avalanche. He quickly began gaining speed and used his telekinesis on his makeshift snowboard to correct his balance if he was about to fall over. Indy could hear the avalanche getting closer, and could even feel bit of snow showering him from behind. He wasn't going to be able to out board the avalanche for too long, and he frantically searched ahead for a cave that he could dive into. Thankfully, the blue gem found one, and crouched slightly, gaining more momentum and speed as he made a beeline towards his destination.
