There are many good things about this site. For one, it caters to those writers that happen to enjoy this series as a whole. For another, it is highly free form, you can essentially have whatever you like. But..there is one MAJOR component that this site is missing that almost every single legitimate role play site has: A face claim list, and just face claiming in general.
Now, for the benefit of those who have no idea what I'm talking about, I'll explain what face claiming is.
Face Claiming is a process in which a writer uses already existing characters or materials to create the appearance of their character. For example, my character citrine uses the character Milla Maxwell from Tales of Xilla as her face claim, and as such, she looks like Milla. I can hear the people that have never encountered this system before asking: "Well isn't that the same as ripping an entire character and claiming it as your own?" To which I answer: No, it is not. The whole point of the face claim system is that claims are listed in an archive, typically alphabetically. This also prevents two people from having characters that look identical, and also puts less stress on users that are not good artists to present a drawing of their character. Im not saying remove original art completely. No, that'd be absurd. I just propose that it not be all but forced to be the majority of what is on site. A face claim is just what it sounds like. You are claiming a "face" for your character.
Of course, this puts more responsibility on staff, as they would have to watch very carefully for character rips even more so. However, as a veteran writer, I can tell you that fully ripping off a character is exceedingly rare. The only needed additions would be a section for face claims, a topic in which they are reserved and then moved to claimed when the character is accepted, and a little additional disclaimer on the site stating that we don't own anything on here other than the original content we ourselves created. I literally see no reason why this isn't already on the site.
