Name: Apache Tear, or just Apache
Appeared Gender: Female (she, her)
Appeared Age: Childlike- possibly around 11
Gemstone: Apache tear in the shape of a kite. No facets.
Gemstone Location: Left cheekbone
Corrupted: Nope
Appearance: (with watermark for the sake of never having done one before)
Personality: Apache, unlike her 'kin', is relatively meek and timid and would rather run or defend than attack on a battlefield though she somewhat shares the same strategic instincts. Sensitive and soft-spoken, she is easily pushed around by stronger gems with a death threat, but despite rough treatment she would still be willing to forgive anyone if their reasoning is truthful. Due to her secondary ability, Apache tends to be serious to the point that jokes are ineffective, melancholy and pessimistic yet also altruistic, comforting and emphatic towards those in need. She rarely acts out in anger, but is prone to shut everyone out when she bears too much sorrow. As a result of this and social exile from most Homeworld gems, she is more solitary than group oriented despite being too uncertain to make important choices.
Likes: Emotionally healing and understanding others, being known as strong, seeing and hearing about cleverly designed architecture
Dislikes: Violence, war, being teased as an experimental defect or failure
Fears: Strong, overwhelmingly dominating gems, corrupted gems, chaos, gemstone being shattered, unknown things and places
Weapon: (Apache depends on glass creation at first, but learns to summon weapon)
Ability 1: Glass creation and dissipation
Apache can conjure and manipulate heat-resistant glass objects with her hands by compressing dust, small stones, sand or molten rock. Commonly she creates strong glass panels to defend, throwing glass projectiles to attack and glass stickybombs that explode into shards upon contact. However, if there are no glass-creating mineral particles around, this power is limited. Apache's glass can be easily cracked when the opposition's blows are repetitive, strong melee strikes.
Apache can also cause any area of non-obsidian glass to dissipate back into dust or sand through both will and touch.
Ability 2: Negativity absorption
Apache can passively or willingly absorb negative influences and the corruption in still-humanoid gems when she comes into physical contact with them, depending on her state of mind. This results in the negative energy being siphoned onto her, where it heals at a much faster rate. If these influences are memory and thoughts, Apache will be able to 'read' them. However, this ability is rather energy-draining to use, and cannot be used to heal gems that have already taken corrupted forms. With overuse, Apache can become more pessimistic and melancholy in nature.
Fusions: (None)
History: Apache was created in an obsidian-specialising Kindergarten as an efficiency prototype for the creation of strong warriors, as Obsidian varieties tend to be useful but are incredibly energy-consuming to produce. Due to the light pressure on the gem and little energy absorption while it incubates, a frail, timid product of an Obsidian was made and quickly disposed off as a low-class glass producer for Homeworld spaceships and warps.
Apache was never the best worker when it came to making windows and warp platings even after a few hundred years, with most gems eager to find evidence for her uselessness. Wanting to prove her strength like a normal Obsidian instead of being teased of as a failure, she eventually began careful, illegal self-training, creating offensive and defensive glass strategies. Eventually this was revealed to a Homeworld general by one of Apache's co-workers whom she trusted and showed her moves to. With 'rumours' of the Crystal Gems circling around Homeworld, the general sent her off on a 'suicide scouting mission' to Earth as both a punishment and and a way to rid the experiment failure. On Earth the disoriented gem became increasingly corrupted and desperate for healing after poofing and cracking her gem, until she stumbles upon some gems.
Character Arcs: -Temporarily joining Crystal Gems as mental healer before breaking off due to their conflict with Homeworld
-Self-acceptance and building up of confidence by helping other gems
-Rebelling against the Homeworld Gems that trapped her on Earth, first time weapon-summoning
-Almost corruption overload after trying to help desperate corrupting gems before starting to care more for self
