The thick mounds of dust and ash stirred under quick and silent steps before settling in the dead land once again. A place that was at one point full of vibrant life, from the natives to its soil, was now less than a barren desert. Caligo remembered what this place looked like when they were testing the planet's fertility, possibly just before the Kindergarden was fully active. Just Barely, but enough to know it didn't look nearly as bad as this.
Not that she cared.
Since the Warp Pad back to Homeworld were taken down along with the communication hub, she's had an ever growing list of reason why she would have liked seeing this planet turned to ash. Gems were getting so obsessed with the place she was beginning to believe they never saw a living planet before now. Well, most of them probably haven't, but that doesn't make it any less annoying. Then there's the fact that everything growing on this dirt ball is near poison, how could anyone eat that stuff?
... Okay, that last point probably only counts for her. All the same, she hates this planet.
She let out a sigh before scrambling up one of the machines and hopping into a hole that could easily have been a cave, given by how much it dwarfed her.
The small gem sat cross-legged, scrutinizing the ground below for any movement. Even though other Gems rarely came here, for one reason or another, there was still a risk of one of those corrupted things might pop up at any moment.
If they were like those misfits clods that continuously ate, the corrupted would have moved on by now too. As far as she knew, that wasn't the case, so for now it was best to stay on the lookout for anything while devising a plan to get some information on what the rebels were up to.
"... I really miss when someone else did this kind of thinking for me."
