Appearance:
Sapphire is short gem with blue skin and dark blue wavy hair, that are long enough to cover the top half of his face. Under the hair he wears white visor, that is transparent only from one side, almost like he was extra trying to hide what is under it. He wears heavy blue coat decorated by silver patches. Under it he wars golden sash and silver belt with big yellow star on it (even though he will replace it with Blue Diamond's symbol to mask himself). Rest of his clothes are blue of course. It is quite apparent, that he was one of important gems back on Homeworld.

Personality:
Sapphire used to be loyal gem in service of Blue Diamond, not questioning his Diamond in any way. He talked little, mostly when spoken to, and his whole act was quite subtle and quiet. All of that changed, when he was sent to Earth on an important mission by Blue Diamond herself. Once he arrived, he saw something, that changed him - he started thinking for himself.

Now, Sapphire is no longer afraid to speak or to act. He is actually quite self-confident and clear-headed. And even though he was always a diplomat, he became very courageous, willing to fight for what he believes in, when he have to. He prefers to use manipulation and subterfuge. When spoken to, he might sound very reasonable and eloquent, but it is more likely that he is trying to manipulate you for his own reasons...

Weapon:
Being a former diplomat, Sapphire has no offensive weapon, instead he is able to summon an extremely durable shield, which could be enlarged to cover his entire front side of a body. This shield can't be thrown though... once it leaves his hand it will disappear instantly.

Ability 1:
Cryokinesis - Sapphire is able to lower the temperature of his surroundings drastically. Not enough to freeze or damage gems, but enough to freeze any water in 10 meter radius. He is also able to freeze non-magical objects he touches.

Ability 2:
Enhanced speed - When diplomacy fails, it is always good to be able to escape quickly. For this reason Sapphire is able to shortly run very fast. This dash helps him to cover great distance, but is not meant for sustain use. It's maximum range is around 30 meters, then it has to be "recharged" (at least 3 in thread posts)

History:
Sapphire was created on Gem Homeworld, several hundred years ago. He was a rare gem in the court of Blue Diamond, but since he didn't have the Future vision as some of his fellow Sapphires he wasn't quite as important as he could have been otherwise. Still, he was a royal gem, often sent to outer colonies as a diplomat, mostly just subtly reminding colonies about greatness of the Empire.

His position among Blue Diamond's court increased when his predecessor, another Sapphire, was lost in the line of duty. After loss of such important gem, he was suppose to go to planet Earth as Blue Diamond's personal ambassador. After all Earth was place of ongoing colonisation, and varying problems weren't uncommon before the colonies were completed.

He arrived to Earth with 4 rubies and one quartz soldier as his personal guard, but once his foot touched the planet for the first time he saw something. For the first, and so far the last time he had a vision of the future. He told no one about what he saw, but it had to be something powerful, because he changed that day. He disappeared shortly, before the comunication with Homeworld was interrupted and all of his guards dissapeared with him...

He only reappeared recently, claming, that he was the prisoner of Crystal gems... was it true? Or was he lying? But who would dare accuse royal Sapphire of something like that?

So in this universe stuff played out differently from the show.

So main point is that Homeworld doesn't know about the rebellion yet, Pink Diamond is currently sending a crew to investigate earth being cut off. The Crystal Gem factions has also only existed for about a year or so.

Finally Garnet's Ruby and Sapphire did not flee in this timeline,instead they were taken under Pink Diamond, whom wished to run more tests and studies on the prospect of inter-gem fusion as a medical practise.

I mean fundamentally Garnet's ruby and sapphire were 'lost' since they moved division,so blue would have a empty slot to fill left by the two of them,but do as you wish.

Blue Diamond would of likely only be checking on Earth with a small visit, to see how the New Diamond was holding up. So its unlikely she would of hung around for very long remembering that she visited nearly 6000 years ago,while the cut off occurred 3 years ago.

You mention the vision though,so you could have it be or saw a vision of something, the start of the rebellion. Realising what would occurred many centuries later and wishing to be part of it, you chose to vanish.Waiting,hiding,biding your time until your vision was to come true,risking everything on a future that may not even occur, but now that the rebellion has begun, as your foresaw, you chose to finally reappear.

Well given the size of Gem empire It's safe to asume Blud Diamond has more then 1 Sapphire any given time, so I don't think that would be problem... (even if we know that Sapphires are rare)

It was more of a thought then any sort of suggestion,just saying that fundamentally Sapphire was gone from Blue Diamond court so you could of been the one to replace her (As you had in your original history iteration).

That does raise the question of how 'rare' sapphires really are,if in the show only one could be afforded to be sent to Earth when it had rebels on it, at the same time though sapphire was only escorted by Rubies,instead of the far more capable Quartzes. So who knows.

My second and third paragraph still stand though, as mentioned Blue Diamond visited the Earth 6000 years ago while the cut off only occurred 3 years ago and the start of the rebellion only happened about a year or 2 ago..

Edit: Considering though your a ambassador and did not come with Blue Diamond it makes sense you may of came to the planet at a far later date. So disregard my above post.

So what did he do in the time from when he vanished up until the now?

Regarding your enhanced speed:Is their a limited Distance he can Run before having to stop (X amount of Feet or something)

And there is a limit... it's not for marathos, it's just a dash... it's for quick escapes... so I guess like 50 meters (164ft) but since we are not playing with meters in our hands...

(I tend to run of metric aswell,its just alot more viewer run off imperial so i defaulted to that in alot of cases)

50 metres is pretty long for what is a 'dash', would basically allow you to escape any attack (Since most abilities tend to have a radius of around 10 meters or so.), and having no cooldown means you could easily do this dash as much as you want.

So potentially have it have a cooldown (once you use it you cant use it again until you make 3 posts,or until the thread ends, or a timeskip occurs within the thread), so that it is really only used as a escape plan, since after using it your are left vulnerable if they catch up.

having to write 5 posts before you can use it again may be a little steep,so you could lower it down to the three or four i suggested.

So i assume with the shield it does not adsorb the force of a attack,if it gets smacked with a big hammer you still going to go flying,shield or no shield.

Can I ask something? Why are you adding reasons every day? The shield is there since I posted the character... and after almost a week you are suddenly asking about it? It's really taking away all the writing mood I have...

Especially since the main character of the whole series have shield... so we have pretty good idea how the shield works in the universe...

Its actually cause I tend to have a order that I go through stuff and analyse, Abilities are usually first priority since balance, but sometime ill focus history and personality since both are influenced by site canon, finally i run weapons and character arcs. Since i dont get too much time to work on the apps i tend to pick and chose like this.

Its also so i don't overload a member with a wall of text with a bunch of changes. So that is the method to my madness.

The reason i mentioned the shield was just clarification, i do it with most shield users. Addressing the fact that kinetic energy still effects a character, i do this mainly because a shield is a rather powerful defence item, its almost a hard counter to most bladed or light weapons. So because of this i like to remind users of one of its core weaknesses,being that you can still be knocked around with heavy weapons (and of course that users can try and move or flank you to bypass the shield,either with their own weapons or abilities).

At this point the app is pretty much unofficially accepted (Your basically accepted,its just i haven't moved the thread to accepted yet, because i may have a brainwave about other small changes that may need to be applied ((This is uncommon though))
