Appearance:
Zoisite has thistle-purple skin with opaque green freckles across her face and the tops of her arms. Her hair, though very, very long, is always tied in a single plait down her back, leaving a messy aspargus mop at the top. Since becoming inspired by earth’s mechanics, Zoisite wears a pair of dark green dungarees and a utility belt around her waist, complete with purple work boots. Underneath this, a deep purple one-armed shirt. She often wears gloves when she’s working, though it’s not necessary for her.
Personality:
Zoisite can be quite blunt and will often unintentionally rile people up with her antagonistic attitude. However, her bluntness comes from a place of honesty. She holds this in high regard and has deep distaste for liars.

She’s a workaholic, industrious and focused. Being rather solitary and reserved, she doesn’t have much time for chit-chat. If you aren’t there to talk business with her, she probably isn’t interested. She has a constant drive to improve, work on a more difficult project, leading to her restless nature if she’s stuck doing the same thing for long periods of time. Times like this with cause her to become very short-tempered and she will not hesitate to speak sharply and lash out at those nearby. Despite this, she tries hard to maintain a courteous relationship with her customers.
Underneath her surly exterior, she’s actually quite emotionally fragile, seeking constant approval with a desire to fit in. Zoisite is quite afraid of bonding with humans or gems and often pushes them away to avoid getting in too deep just to be rejected. However, if you do earn her friendship, she becomes intensely loyal. She might not seek you out to “hang out” but if you need something she will do everything in her power to aid you.
Since settling on Earth, she has fallen in love with Human culture, specifically classical mechanics such as hydraulics and mechanical engineering. She’s also found great joy in the “sleeping” that humans enjoy so much and woe betide anyone who wakes her from a nap. She has a soft spot for traditional human romance rituals. Zoisite also has a reckless streak, enjoying the extreme hobby of storm chasing. In her free time, she can be found pursuing tornadoes and thunderstorms on her motorbike.

Ability 1:
Typhokinesis
Typhokinesis
Smoke manipulation. She tends to use this ability far more often than her weapon as it is a means of escape. She can create smoke screens and surround a foe in smoke to hinder their breathing and vision.
With training she could probably master density manipulation via smoke molecules to create solid weapons or allies. She currently cannot do this.
She can matter surf on smoke but only a few inches from the ground. She rarely does this intentionally, it happens when she is angry or upset.
Her smoke control is easily overpowered by those with aerokinesis and she has no way of hiding from those with thermal vision. Also, though she is able to create her own smoke, it’s limited by her stamina. If she has a source of smoke to work with, she is much more powerful. Any smoke she creates will remain for a limited amount of time (2 posts) or until she dispels it, whichever comes first. After that, she needs to build up some stamina before she can use her power again (2 posts).

History:
Zoisite is a rather old gem as she came to Earth on one of the original gem settler ships. Though she was a gem under Blue Diamond, she had been brought along as starship engineer to ensure no accidents occur and keep the ship in top condition.
She spent many years travelling back and forth on settler ships as they brought more new gems and technology to the planet. She found herself disappointed that she never got a chance to see more of the planet as she always had to return to her role on another ship.
Eventually, one of the ships captain’s told her they had a long-term job to do on Earth and would be here a while. Zoisite was allowed some shore leave in the meantime. She took the opportunity to explore the Earth for a while. However, upon returning, she found the ship abandoned and not a gem in sight.
What Zoisite didn’t know was that the construction of Gem Warp Pads had been completed and the crew had returned through them. She had not yet realised that, with the invention of warps, she had become obsolete. Gems had been evolving faster than she had realised, with bigger and better starships. Zoisite gems weren't even considered considered engineers anymore, being replaced with newer gems. Her particular set of skills no longer held any value for Homeworld. Zoisite didn’t know how to use a warp pad, no one had even told her what they were.
Assuming something had gone wrong, Zoisite decided she had been left behind by accident. She sent out a distress signal from the now outmoded ship and settled down to wait.
After a long, long time, Zoisite decided to explore more of the Earth while she waited. Though she was refusing to acknowledge it, the tiny voice in her head had started to suggest that the gems weren’t coming back for her.
As she travelled the Earth, she began to come across humans messing around with primitive, archaic technology. Curious about them, she began to study it herself. She found it fascinating that humans could work with such undeveloped technology. Eventually, she was approached by a human man, who asked if she would like a job in his workshop. Unfamiliar with the concept of a human job but eager to learn more, Zoisite accepted.
Little by little she learned more and more about Human culture and slowly began to build a life for herself on the little planet. She began to forget about the gem ship and her old life, though she secretly never let go of the idea of being rescued.
She now runs her own mechanics workshop, inherited from the human that originally hired her. She works hard and will often do a job for free if she finds the project interesting enough.
