Name: Tahitian/Dark Pearl.


Appeared Gender: Female.


Appeared Age: About 15 Years. Relatively new/young.


Gemstone: Tahitian Pearl. Circle-shaped.


Gemstone Location: Neck, facing backward.


Faction: Homeworld. (She is under Blue Diamond.)


Corrupted: No.

Appearance: She wears a matte dress, the top has a Diamond. Her dress restricts movements sometimes as it is a little tight towards the legs. Her hair is long, and her fringe covers her right eye. Her gem is hidden under her hair.


Personality: She hides her true self. Previous traumatic experiences in her past have made her into someone she isn't. She is told to serve homeworld, so she does so despite knowing its flaws. She has done so for so long, her personality has sort of split into two people. One dark and selfish. Sort of like Evil Peridot. Her other personality is soft and easily hurt. She prefers to be by herself, and is referred to other gems as 'The Dark One'. This is because other pearls are mostly lustrous and beautiful, while she is dark and keeps to herself.


Likes/Dislikes: Likes: Homeworld, Being Alone, Secretly likes to be loved. Dislikes: Homeworld, Those who stand in her way, Socializing.


Fears: Being Shattered, being betrayed.


Weapon: A Tessen fan. It's made of metal and the material resembles her gem's material. She throws the fans, and they are extremely durable. They can cut through weak materials but alone is not enough to poof a gem. They can be put together to enhance its power. Enhancement: The two fans can be put together to make a more accurate fan. The enhanced fan can travel a little further.

Ability 1: 'Vector Dive' (Credit: njrk97): Tahitian freezes in a position almost floating. In this state she can only turn herself, when she is facing the desired way she bursts forward at high speed, remaining frozen until she has traveled X Distance (X is the range of the burst), or earlier is she is hit, or hits something. Pearl is generally open for an attack when she is frozen. Additionally the burst is able to overpower gravity, allowing her to dive up into the air. At the end of the dive though gravity will take effect.


When Tahitian is trying to shoot up into the air, she takes slightly longer to overpower gravity. If she is hit by a projectile while diving staight up into the air, she will travel the same speed in the direction the projectile was aiming. This is a fatal weakness as if she hits a wall she would poof.

History: Tahitian has been on the run for about a year now. She does not have an owner and does not actually want one. She wants to be treated equally. She wants a friend she can trust. Because she has been shunned and called 'defective', she has a lot of stress inside her. She is ridiculed at something she naturally is. She used to have an owner, but the owner was abusive and made her feel disrespected and small. She ran, but she's still traumatized. So she left the owner and went rogue. The authority has been trying to find her.

The rogue pearl has been in hiding for nearly a year now, fleeing from Homeworld authorities and trying her hardest to vanish, despite being hunted, she had never felt so free. Her story started out like many others, she was a servant, a slave. Only meant to serve a single Gem, it was who Homeworld had decided she was, but something was different about her. Whether it was an experience or defect is unclear, but regardless it made her want something more, a friend, a life, freedom, independence. She had kept this secret, though, causing it to become quite a surprise for her master when she had simply vanished one day. Now a Pearl abandoning their master simply could not do and a search party was deployed immediately, but Pearl always managed to just evade them.It was funny really, Pearls were made to be quiet,to almost disappear when their master uttered a simple sentence such as "That will be all" or "You can go now", and now Tahitian was using that very gift to her advantage, the gems most of the time only managed to get a glance before she seemed to melt away.

Her new life was just a short distance away. 

Character Arcs: She meets another Pearl ((Planning out with a new friend on here.)) and they sort of become friends.
or, she gets captured. She gets brought back to the homeworld and she has to attempt to flee this time.

Whats with the whole Dark Gems thing If its a dark gemstone its generally a grey or black gem.

So your history is rather short, as its mentioned in the app we tend to try and aim for at least a paaragraph. Their is plenty of stuff you can explore in your history.

Was she made for someone? (Pearls are servants created for other gems so it seems strange that one wouldn't have owner)

Is she in hiding (Since a Pearl trying to be independent would be breaking the gem caste and would thus be destroyed)

Is she really loyal to Homeworld? Being a Pearl that goes against everything that Pearls are meant to be

and probably most importantly, How did she end up on Earth/is going to end up on Earth.

Since currently your backstory really doesn't make sense from the perspective of the site or the show.She is a Pearl that lacks a owner,something that seems extremely rare and is also basically illegal in gem society. Yet she is allowed to wander Homeworld as much as she wants,without any implication that she is in hiding. Plus your somehow still loyal despite going against your entire Role and caste in gem society. Finally you have no framing or device for how or why your gonna end up on Earth or the Moon base.

There is plenty of stuff you could do with it, IE: You were a rejected Pearl marked as defective or not wanted by your owner. Your fate was to be shattered but you managed to flee and escape Homeworld,stowing away on a ship you ended up on a small planet known as Earth. (Now this could all be framed before the cutoff in 2013 until 2016, you arrived just before the cutoff, so when Earth was finally cut off you took the opportunity to try and fully go into hiding. In 2015 Rose sent her message to Earth begging those gems on it to protect it, did your character rise to the occasion? Wanting to protect the planet that gave her protection and as a way to finally break free of the caste of being a Pearl, or have you gone quiet again, trying to avoid the conflict that will happen?


Sorry its currently late here so i cant get to this too much. I will say though that your super speed is sorta a iffy about, we basically don't have baseline speed for gems so its hard to define how much faster super speed would make them, plus being able to zip around so quickly that you cant even see her may be strong.

So it depends then on what you want to do,make a new ability all together or modify the old one. As a example of modifying the old one to something that actually similar to what another Pearl character has,they basically have a short ranged 'blink' which is basically a short range teleport they can do a few times before having it go on cooldown.

Hmm.. Regarding the ability, could she.. perhaps freeze into a pose and speed off in a direction, and when she lands she can move again? And the history is being thought about right now

I'll update this when I decide which path she'll take, but I think she'll be roaming and hiding because she didn't do what she was meant to do. She'll end up on earth via ship and be hiding, and like you said, rise up and decide to protect the earth. So many possibilities to develop this character

That freeze in a pose and speed of direction thing immediately remind me of Vector plates from Soul Eater



Second thing that comes to mind is the gravity control from Sonic Rider Zero Gravity (Sorry cant find a gif for that).

So you say the history is still in progress,is that mean your writing more before i look at it again (Since a history is basically meant to be what your character has done before you start Roleplaying them).

Hey MIT here, i'm just gonna pop by and say History's (in this site) are usually what your character has done so far up until the point they are sent to earth (present day.), Character Arcs are what you can plan in future for your gem "history" whatsoever.

Im not sure if Njrk wants the weapon to be talked about but i'll leave that part for him.

Yeah as Obsi and myself mentioned,history is your..well history,your past. That was why i was asking whether you had finished typing up what amounts to your backstory.So yeah,pretty much your history doesn't develop at all since it only meant to be your past.

While its sorta fine now,i would prefer if you did a little more with your history (Ie you could delve into what made her think differently then other Pearls,was it a experience or just part of her natural defect)

A trick I and many members tend to do to help history length is to frame it as a story,in the same way a history would be explained in a Novel,don't just state what happened to her,paint me a picture with your words.

Example History i quickly wrote, you can use it if you want but its up to you.

There was only so many places though a Owner-less Pearl could really hide on Homeworld and her options were quickly running out,so she knew that eventually she would have to leave that planet behind. Rumour has it that the Pearl was last spotted on a cargo vessel heading towards Pink Diamond's colony. A ideal spot really, the rebellion on the planet would make it rather easy for the Pearl to slip away for good,afterall on Earth she wouldn't be the only one who thought a little differently then the rest.


So in regards to your weapon,the whole enhance its power thing is sorta iffy,or at least unclear. What does it really mean be Enhance it powers?

Tahitian won't have a secondary ability since she's relatively new. Or actually, she does not know how to use her potential other ability yet. However, the enhancing weapons thing might be considered an ability. I explained the enhancing in the weapons section. .3.

This would be an interesting weakness. It isn't really clear what I'm trying to say, and I'll try to word it properly, but basically if she is interrupted she will defy all gravity and shoot in the direction she was hit in.
