Name: Dragon's Fire Opal, Dragon
Appeared Gender: Genderqueer/Androgynous (They/Them)
Appeared Age: 23
Gemstone: Dragon's Fire Opal
Gemstone Location: Chest and the small of their back
Faction: (Reluctantly) Crystal gem, but formerly a Homeworld enthusiast.
Corrupted:(Y/N) No
(If Corrupted)Monster Form: N/A
Appearance:
Personality: Dragon is a little on the cautious side of things. They are also incredibly pessimistic, with the belief that having low expectations makes sure that you're never let down. Coming as a fusion from Homeworld, Dragon is also incredibly wary that people will find out who they really are, and as a result keeps their second gem hidden. Despite being a party pooper at times, Dragon can be really sweet to those they get close to. They are loyal and fiercely protective to anybody they deem a friend. Just keep Dragon together- They get separation anxiety when unfused.
Likes/Dislikes:
Likes: Music, soft noises, animals(up to a point), literature, solitude, card games, checkers, dancing, fusion and other fusions, giant monster movies
Dislikes: Gem aristocracy, unsanitary things, eating (although they occasionally chew gum), loud/sudden noises, overstimulation
Fears: Being separated, being found out as a fusion by anybody with authority over them
Weapon: An oversized morningstar, bearing colors similar to their gem and clothing.
Ability 1: Hologram projection from gem- This functions like how Pearl's holograms do in the show. Dragon will occasionally project their dreams will sleeping without realizing it, but other than that it functions exactly as it does in the show.
Ability 2: Fire bending. They can breathe fire, similar to how Alexandrite can. They can also set their weapon on fire and use that as a potential weapon against opponents. Due to all of this, Dragon has a resistance to fire and can't be burnt easily.
Fusions: Other than their current form, none.
History: Dragon was formed after an accidental fusion on Homeworld between a Pearl and an Quartz. The two, having at least the luxury of their initial fusion taking place alone, soon realized that staying separated was only bringing them anxiety and other mental problems. The Quartz and the Pearl met up almost every night after the first encounter, fusing under the shroud of night where nobody could see them. The feeling of being Dragon was wonderful, and the duo didn't want it to end anytime soon. However, the constant sneaking out was starting to look suspicious. The Pearl, who was assigned to a reputable Peridot who had successfully made a name for herself on Homeworld, was starting to fear the worst. The Quartz attempted to reassure the Pearl, but they were right in the end. The Quartz's supervisor was starting to realize what was going on, and they promptly informed Pearl's Peridot. While their secret of fusing was still kept safe, the each of them were given a harsh chiding before being sent back into their daily tasks with the promise that they would never visit each other again, lest be shattered for doing so. Still, the Quartz wasn't going down without a fight despite the Pearl's desperate pleas to let it go. The Quartz devised a plan in secret that consisted of stealing a small ship and getting off Homeworld with the Pearl. The Pearl, being undoubtably devoted to Yellow Diamond and Homeworld itself, was extremely skeptical about this. Sure, the desire to fuse was overwhelming, but they couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt when they saw Homeworld getting smaller and smaller from the tiny window of the ship. The Pearl was submissive, and went along with the plan for the sake of Quartz. The two fused into Dragon, and have not parted since. While there is a conflict between the two sides and their opinion of Homeworld, they try to avoid the subject whenever possible in order to make sure no arguments break out. Since their escape, Dragon has made a homefor theirself on Earth, where vague rumors of freedom had reached their ears back on Homeworld. Currently, they reside in Beach City. During the day, they hide in the caves along the shore. At night, they wander freely in hopes that nobody sees them. That being said, it hasn't stopped local children from making rumors about a mysterious man who wanders in the night.
Character Arcs:
1. Dragon reaching out and making friends with other gems and/or humans.
2. Dragon getting found out as a fusion by aforementioned friends, and being forced to accept theirself as one after all this time. (They're somewhat shameful of being a fusion.)
3. Quartz and Pearl fighting over Homeworld, and unfusing for a short time before inevitably making amends.
