Broken But Not Shattered(Open)

[Blue Quartz]

In the stary night that gave away to many glistening orbs of light, Blue stood at the top of her base wondering how she even got to her current condition, she was a wreck indeed, after the broken gems weren't around as much she grew quite lonely as time proceeded onward. As the 7'3 ft Quartz fell to her knees tears began to tremble down her face, she suffered so much during her time with the broken gems yet then again there were many good times that they all had shared as well. Blue didn't want to end this legacy that originated from them, she wanted to nurture it and create an army of anarchist, who would be under there own free will to do as they please. The grassy meadow felt smooth along her light blue feet, she sighed momentarily after her excessive mental pondering and arises from her seat commencing to roam the lands among her vicinity. Blue remembered that she didn't finish testing her humans yet and concluded that it was enough commiserating over the group, she steadied her pace back to one of her secret passage and placed her palm upon the control pad that possessed a hand shape symbol that resembled Blue's own hand size.


Blue Quartz narrowed her eye as once she arrived at the room Green Pearl would already be present waiting for her as usual infront of the door,"My Quartz! You have finally finish... are you doing well? I could check on the next set of animals for your next exper-" Blue intervened with an immediate response,"No. I am fine pearl, what I neeed you to do is find more candidates to become Broken Gem members..that will be all.." she says calmly yet with a hint of firmness in her tone to declare how disturbed she was about discussing the matter of how she felt about the break up between the group. Green Pearl bowed before her elegant quartz departing shortly after her request had been made, Blue stood there and watched from the corner of her eye as Pearl had left. Once she was completely out of sight she wondered why Pearl never decided to act on her own accord. 

On the day that she obtained her own Pearl series of years ago, it was quite the momentous occasion, she followed every instruction given with perfection just as a pearl should, but at times this bothered Blue, even to the extent that she yelled at her own pearl asking why isn't she desiring to just be free entirely. Pearl had an unknowing attachment to her owner for some odd reason that not even Pearl knew the justification behind, Blue entered the room where the humans were held captive, as Blue Quartz took view upon the test tubes that the slumbering humans remained in she folded her arms hearing the frequent beeping from the machines. There were fives humans in total, an elderly man and woman in two separate tubes, a set of twin teenage boys in another and one adult woman, they were safe for the most part due to the oxygen fluid coursing throughout the tubes.

Ari traipsed through the woods with her visor down, keeping her diagnostic radar alight so she could see more easily. It had been a long time since she had taken a simple walk through the woods at night, and enjoyed the crisp clean atmosphere of Earth, when it was away from the commotion of human or gem activity. Except, there was never just a simple walk; Ari was on a self-driven mission, and she was determined to repair her most beloved artifacts. She had them on her now, in fact, but packed away in her dark leather rucksack. The hiking bag was nearly a hundred years old, but good care could take any sort of object or artifact a long ways-- though clumsiness could strike if one didn't pay attention.

Now, she kept her eyes peeled for any clues that could help her. She had heard rumors of ancient architecture in this area, and she soon happened upon an old, gnarled building that was overwhelmed by lush, green plants that invaded it's walls and windows. The whole scene was rather romantic with the moonlight casting down into burbling streams and waterfalls, though Ari was much too old and cynical to dwell long on the beauty of dereliction; Earth's natural processes.

There was something that struck her as odd about the place. With a quick tap of her gem, she readjusted her diagnostic visors, and rolled her heels carefully as she scanned the area for signs of activity. She swallowed, and hoped she wouldn't run into more than she bargained for today.

The humans were the start of something truly magnificent in Blue's eye, she kept a decent pace along the grey tiled floor, she would then sit down in her large throne like chair that was structured with simplistic rectangular builds, the control panel stood embedded upon the pavement in front of her. Blue would input a few commands in the system's data base summoning several visuals in which then light blue elevated screens all circulating around her was filled with a variety of files based upon her experiments. She skimmed through each file wondering about if she'd discover a few confidential ones created by her pearl, suddenly the red button on the control panel begun to echo a consecutive beeping sound indicating that an intruder was of close proximity to the base. Blue pressed her finger lightly upon the red button which materialized an outside view of the base, she glanced at the unknown trespasser, for the most part Blue didn't perceive such a gem to be deemed hostile. The quartz subsided the materialization and got up from her seat to encounter the gem, she clenched her palms and placed them along her lap as she strolled along the hallways, as she made it to the main entrance behind the great waterfall two statues of her stood side by side. 


Blue Quartz placed her palm gently on the hand shape panel which would cause the waterfall to separate into two, a door could be seen opening once the process was complete, the broken gems symbol stood at the top of the door yet the design seemed to be less apparent as time went by. Her lime green eye never left the figure as she exited the entrance, levitating stairs trailed one by one with every step Blue took as she descend down on to the outside world. Blue didn't want to appear as though she were a threat so she took necessary precautions to ensure that such ways wouldn't be her representation, she would then reverse the process causing the stairs to soar back into there designated areas. The waterfall reverted back to it's primal form overflowing with everlasting water, Blue pounced into the air and descend gracefully on to the ground, a few meters away from the gem,"Welcome my dear, I don't usually see many gems around these parts of the forest, a pleasure to meet you, I am Blue Quartz, though you can refer to me as whatever you like.." she said in a comforting mother like tone while continuing to walk towards the gem until she was of close distance in which then she halted her movement smiling at the gem.

Ari bared her silvery teeth in a sneer as her stringent yellow eyes snapped onto the parting water fall. Her diagnostic feed picked up on the signatures of gems or gem tech, but she didn't quite see who would pop out of the water-- until they already had. The arsenic gem scrambled back but kept her sharp glare on the quartz, a model she recognized from previous escapades in other worlds. "Eh?" She reeled back as the blue gem began to speak, and kept her visor up. The mirror-like sheen of the visor obscured her expression from outside, but her focus was glued to the mysterious quartz.

She took a sharp breath, and let it out slowly and carefully; even if she didn't need the oxygen, it was a good centering technique. Ari straightened up, it didn't seem like this gem was going to go straight into battle mode, but she still had to secure more intel about this stranger before jumping to any conclusions. "Well well, I had heard rumors of a place 'round here, some said it was haunted by ghosts," She took a casual, conversational tone despite her apprehension just moments ago,"Call me a ghost buster, because it looks like I just found the fabled geist," she gave an uneasy shrug,"They call me Ari these days, good to meet you Blue. Mighty fine night for a walk wouldn't you say?"

It was visible enough that Blue created somewhat of a startle with her towering presence, as the gem rectified her position upon the surface she simply observed and internally scrutinized her reactions to assemble her own idea on how this gem is in general, her visor seemed to have an essential value she assumed as Ari didn't appear to be a combative based gem though those who weren't usually could adapt such trait on earth fortunately enough. Never in the many years she has been here has paranormal activity filtered throughout this vicinity what so ever, since it was a rumor she could only predict that this false tale was fabricated by humans, it amused her how imaginative these creatures were to create such single story that could potentially cloud others judgement of the great forest she inhabited. Blue reassured Ari with a positive disposition," Well I don't know who created such source but I can surely enlighten you by saying there aren't any ghosts here" she said while chuckling lightly.


Once she referred to her as a fabled geist she arched her supposable eyebrow puzzled as to what she meant however she disregarded the matter after Ari revealed her name," Likewise, Of course it's always wonderful to take any sort of voyage, exploring the world is a right we gems have know thanks to this planet. It's been a while since I've got in contact with any other gems aside from my pearl, I'd never thought of discovering one here, maybe fate has brought us together for a reason" She stated. Blue couldn't tell exactly if this gem was allied with homeworld or the crystal gems so she didn't hesitated to ask in a straightforward manner," Tell me Ari, whom are you allied with? Homeworld? The crystal gems? or are you unaligned with neither groups of gems.." she asked.

Ari held a smile as she nodded along with what Blue said; the enormous soldier gem was surprisingly flowery, calm, and eloquent in her speech, which she didn't expect from quartz, who were usually rough and tumble types. It was a relief to her that this gem didn't seem interested in picking a fight, and she also took this as a sign that the gem might be an off color-- like the arsenic herself-- who was fleeing from Homeworld society.

The idea of fate was dubious for Ari, but she liked the idea nonetheless, and her smile seemed to hold less tension. Until, of course, Blue began to pry into her loyalties. The arsenic's upper lip twitched, and her smile melted into a neutral line. Her head tilted slightly to the side; saying she was a Homeworlder or Crystal Gem would be dangerous, but saying she was neither could also be. Though, Ari liked that this gem seemed to be in her own way, an independent Quartz living her life on the surface in secret, she could relate, and decided to take a chance.

She seemed to loosen up her shoulders a bit and spread her arms in a nonchalant gesture, kicking the dirt lightly with one foot,"Oh, you know, I'm what they call a drifter," She answered honestly,"I've got my contacts-- Homeworld, Crystal Gem, it's all the same to me," Ari gave a shrug, and her opaque goggles would catch the reflection of Blue Quartz as the arsenic wanderer looked right at her,"I can't imagine you're out here sitting in a waterfall because a Diamond told ya too, eh?" She chuckled lightly, meaning to imply that she too wanted to know the quartz's loyalties.

Throughout her many encounters with gems on this planet, they all shared similar traits upon brining up certain questions, Ari was no exception to this matter as her entire facial expression shifted to that of a gem whom is hesitant, she's seen enough to gather that much from her in which then she knew very well which side she might've favored more. As Ari continued to remain silent proceeding with a subtle gesticulation upon the ground Blue blinked for a moment as she spoken, this concluded that she was in fact  living an unconfined existence, she was untrammeled by her own interactions with earth no doubt. A gentle smile arose from the enormous Quartz as she found this pleasing, regardless of a gem's affiliation she vowed to not strike a gem without any sort of physical retaliation directed upon her or those she identifies as comrades.  Blue's lime green eye narrowed a bit as Ari attentively took view upon her pointing out her obvious reasoning for inhabiting these woods," Oh darling your so adorable, I mean you no harm at all if you are afraid, who you choose to be with is your own decision, I would rather respect someone's choice rather than harm them for it." She reassured her.


Blue turned around to take a good look at the rushing waterfall," This is my home, I'm not a homeworld gem, anymore that is, I am well acquainted with the crystals gems but I have my own legacy to begin, a legacy that's been broken and lost for sometime now, this planet allowed me to see it's beauty beyond anything I'd ever imagine, and homeworld just wants to waste it all.. what ah shame, Oh dear I'm rambling.." she reverted her attention back to Ari. Suddenly Green Pearl emerged from the depths of the waterfall's current folding her arms behind her back she came alongside her quartz," My Quartz, I see we have a visitor, hmph." Green Pearl rolled her eyes as she after staring Ari up and down, she then turned her head to the side in a dismissive manner not desiring to conversate with the other gem. 

Blue placed her palm upon her pearl's shoulder," Pearl, this is Ari, she's quite a comical individual indeed, I find her very much entertaining even though we just met" she chuckled. Green Pearl grew internally displeased by how much attention Ari was getting, she stormed off back into the base to continue her duties for the time being. Blue spoke calmly to Ari,"I apologize for her littte.. outburst, she can be a bit rough around the edges with new people, but anyways, tell me more about yourself my dear" she stated as she became quite intrigued.

As she listened, she stood patiently still. She scratched her head before her arms fell back to her sides, and found her suspicions about Blue to be confirmed, the gem was indeed another dissident. Though, she was thrown through a loop when the quartz began to talk of her own legacy. Ari's brow raised slightly, beneath the visor, though she continued to listen with an interested focus. What sort of legacy it was, perhaps she would be able to find out.

Then, the pearl broke her focus. Ari sucked air through her teeth,"Ouch, she's a tough customer ain't she," The old arsenic piped up, though she was use to other gems being adverse to her; it was water off of a duck's back. She cleared her throat, moving on from the slightly uncomfortable interaction with Blue's surly pearl.

"Well, I'm something of a connoisseur. I collect technology and curiosities that I find in my travels," She gave a little smirk,"Frankly, humans tend to mistake alien activity for other silly things. If they say ghosts, there's about an eighty-percent chance it's actually gems, and where there are gems...there is gem tech, possibly artifacts," She shrugged, stopping short of explaining her tactics, and began to take a few strides toward the waterfall. Her diagnostic reel continued, though it couldn't decipher most of what was going on beyond the water. "You've got a nice hide-out here," She was tempted to keep looking around, but she knew that if a strange gem started poking around her own hide out, she would have to activate the defense system. Instead, she turned to peer at Blue from over her shoulder,"Did you build it yourself?"

Blue knew quite well why Green Pearl acted as such, though she wouldn't reveal that particular information as she wanted to sustain an appeased relationship between the outsider and herself. Ari was very observant she analyzed as she noticed much of her body language and facial expressions, she'd surely enough have to keep her away from her base due to that fact that she may be a crafty fellow she presumed. Blue Quartz arose a smile along her perked lips as she was going to enjoy discovering her true intentions," I see, though their are gems I'm sure that have no need for homeworld's technology, they live a life in relation to that of the humans." She explained.  Once she had asked if she built the base by herself she only gave a nod," I had some help, though they headed back to homeworld long ago." she said, even though she was false in her own statement she was sure it was enough to create minimal suspicion. 


As Blue contemplated on her next move she headed towards her base, she gave a slight turn of her head to Ari," Let me guess, your curiosity has slightly peaked? I'm sure an artifact collector like yourself is wondering what priceless items may lay beyond, If that's what you seek, I'll give you a tour but you can only take one item of your choice." she stated as she would be giving her a test. If Ari would prove herself as just an innocent traveler who wouldn't steal then she would offer her a proposition however if she steals and gets caught then who knows what will occur.
