Name: Andradite V. Demantoid [an-druh-dahyt] [dih-man-toid]
Appeared Gender: Male
Appeared Age: Young Adult
Gemstone: Andradite variant demantoid
Gemstone Location: Back of left hand. Heptagon cut. Note there is a Yellowish gem embedded in the chest piece of his armor that is not a part of him nor fused with him. It is a powerless gem belonging to a shattered Gem.
Corrupted: No
(If Corrupted)Monster Form:
Appearance: Slightly taller than your average Pearl, slim with exaggerated shoulders. When not in combat Andradite removes his helmet and dons a blue hoodie.
Personality: A well disciplined individual concerned with keeping the peace, he is to the point and quick to act though he is careful to plan ahead when he can. As part of his training he is mindful of his surroundings and keeps a mental note of any useful resources. He harbors a burning conviction to protect and maintain order, this is the defining trait of his Gemtype. Due to the betrayal by one of his own he is initially distrustful of individuals but dispite this he remains civil and retains his desire to protect his fellow Gem. Andradite strives to maintain a collected and disciplined appearance but his passion tends to get the best of him in tence situations. A simple and honest Gem that is goal oriented, he keeps his eye on the mission at hand.
He's a little naive when it comes to everyday things of Gem society considering soon after being born he was sent off world. As somewhat of a side effect of his mission he partakes in habits uncommon for Gems such as eating and sleeping.
Andradite has recently struggled with his conflicting loyalty with Homeworld and the Gems of Earth. His feelings of loss of direction and purpose has caused him to question his world and if he has a part in it. Having been separated from Homeworld for so long and Gems in general he finds it difficult to identify with his own people. Rose Quartz's transmission has stirred feelings of compassion in his heart, drawing him to sympathize with the Earth having felt his own loss. Earth is his first step towards self discovery and understanding his destiny.

Weapon: Very Big Hammer! When he calls forth his weapon it extends from the gem on his hand and mounts itself over his arm. Renforcing his fist with a large hammerlike apparatus this blunt ram opperates similar to a jackhammer. Being very hard and very heavy it allows him to land some serious blows. Its strength however is also its weakness as it immense weight slows Andradite down seriously decreasing his mobility. Due to his combat style Andradite refrains from using his gem weapon and instead relies on a short sword only using his gem as a finishing blow.
Ability 1: Radiant Retreat
This ability grants Andradite the properties of light in motion allowing him to move as fast as light. The downside to this ability is its lack of steering. Whenever this ability is activated he is unable to change the direction of travel. Additionally Andradite lacks the heightened perception to perceive his surroundings which makes it nearly impossible for precise "landing". As light he can be reflected off surfaces but such actions go unnoticed by Andradite further increasing the uncertainty of this ability.
Ability 2: Pressure Guard
Andradite creates distortions and folds in space to generate spatial pressure. In combat this ability can be expressed in two ways. By discharging controlled spurts of pressure outward from his body (e.g. his hand) he can deflect projectiles or melee in close range. Mass and force play a factor in his ability to deflect objects. Obviously projectiles too large or moving with notable force won't be affected.
In times of great distress this ability can be utilized over a larger area, applying a downward or outward pressure with an affective range of approximately 25 feet in diameter to restrict the ability of those in the effected area to move efficiently. Those closer to Andradite feel the effects to a greater extent with the pressure getting weaker the further they are from him. The downward variation of the attack risks shattering his gem with prolonged activation. In the direct vicinity (5 feet) pressure will keep most assailants from moving bringing them to their knees or blow them back depending on the variant used. This ability causes mental strain due to the amount of concentration required to maintain pressure which forces him to remain stationary while using this variant. Though an upmost limit isn't known, holding the pressure for just a minute exhausts Andradite leaving him vulnerable.

History:
From the moment I first opened my eyes I had a job to do. Immediately after emerging from my cultivation chamber I was armed and sent off to be programmed. Over the next few weeks I was made ready, briefed on my mission and instructed in military tactics. Instilling discipline was their top priority. Being a high risk investment instant willing obedience to all orders was mandatory. It was a safeguard to protect their property by making sure their "employee" remained loyal.
It was a time when the Homeworld was just expanding its presence into the universe and my sisters and I were created to serve as business envoys by a private enterprise to locate and befriend alien civilizations in order to procure whatever resources the company desired. They were hoping to monopolize on trade in the immediate sector before HomeWorld's Outreach Initiative could get off the ground. With less red tape and pressure from the citizens this company was able to collect resources and put together ships and crews faster.
We are the called the Andradite Combines. Three Gems, a brother and his sisters, Demantoid, Melanite and Topazolite; each of us given a specific job to carry out. Demantoids were made to act as a defender and escort to protect the other two while Topazolites were the diplomat being tasked with cultivating positive relationships with local governments in order to convince them to allow The Enterprise access to their wealth. Melanites served as their engineer, tasked with assessing what was of value and to collect it. Something about her though... she had ulterior motives that were yet to be discovered...
Grown, programmed and equipped the Andradite Combine were sent to a dry but thriving planet to begin their mission. They landed and made contact without incident thanks the cautionary planning of Demantoid and the tactful and delicate words of Topazolite. The Andradite Combine set up a makeshift embassy to serve as a base of operations and to have a place to invite the local beings to create an appearance of transparency. Demantoid, being the protector of the two, stood watch at the embassy as Topazolite spoke to politicians and made sincere attempts at cultivating peace and an environment of genuine heart. She was a kind soul, a true beacon of peace. This endeared her to her brother who took much pride in watching over such a soul. This love had consequences, it made him blind to the actions of his other sister Melanite who had been secretly setting up the planet to detonate which would
expose its rich core to be exploited.
A visit from the Outreach Initiative complicated things further but the Combine was able to protect the Enterprise's interests
Since the government was under the unintentional thrall of Topazolite a local group of citizens had formed to resist Melanite in secret. They were no match for her superior tactics and failed to slow her plans at every confrontation. Even so it appeared as fate chose a side because on one unusually hot day one of her charges detonated prematurely catching the attention of Demantoid prompting him to investigate. At the site he found evidence of his sister's treachery. Determined to confront his sister before her plan came to fruition he pleaded with Topazolite to leave the planet just in case he wasn't able to stop the event from occurring. She reluctantly agreed.
In the depths of Melanite lair, she rushed to complete the final adjustments but was interrupted by Demantoid. A battle raged and victory for Demantoid seemed curtain when unexpectedly Topazolite returned with hopes to find a peaceful solution. This caused a distraction which Melanite took as her opportunity to break away. With her final adjustments left undone she used her own gem as a catalyst for a chain reaction that triggered the warheads resulting in her death. With only seconds to react Topazolite attempted to protect her brother and used her power to shield him from the planets destruction.
Floating among the debris unconscious Demantoid would be at the mercy of the void if not for Topazolite. Her own life was fading and she took all that she had left and gave it to her brother. She embedded pieces of her gem into his chest, hoping to ensure his survival. As her form faded her last vision was that of her brother becoming a mass of light, shooting off towards nothing and she fears that she failed...
An unknown amount of time had passed before Demantoid found himself rescued. The Gem from the Outreach Initiative had returned. Still feeling the weight of his loss he decided to join Fuscite on his mission not sure where is future would lead him...
