Zircon was at the Communications Hub, with his limb enhancers showing a holographic screen. He started recording himself. "Yellow Diamond, or any Homeworld ships.. If you're out there, please help! I'm stuck on the planet known as 'Earth'.. Zircon, signing out." He said, somewhat sadly, with a desperate look on his face, and somehow even though gems don't get tired, he had bags under his eyes. "Please, please just work.." He said. He knew the hub was down, just by looking at it- but he was desperate enough to try anything now. He leaned against a Comm. Pillar, sliding down until sitting, and then pulling his knees in. He held his knees in his arms. "I just want to leave this place.. Is that to much too ask..?" He said in a low, sad voice.
In his explorations of the areas that Gems visited most frequently, he found many places that attracted his interests. Many technological advancements that he had never seen before, large temples that stacked towards the heavens, and many others. His most recent endeavor was to visit the Communications Hub, and as he walked around it, he heard a voice.
"Yellow Diamond, or any Homeworld ships.. If you're out there, please help! I'm stuck on the planet known as 'Earth'.. Zircon, signing out." Spinel watched the figure curiously from a distance, before deciding to approach the figure. "Please, please just work..." "It's never going to work." Spinel said, standing in front of the crouched figure. "This old Homeworld junk never works. If it did, I'd probably have figured out how to use it by now."
"Well aren't you optimistic.." He said, standing up slowly. "Days of attempted repair, all for nothing." He said kicking one of the pillars. He looked at the gem. "Who are you anyways?" He said, curiously. His visor, especially in the night, darkened his true eye color. He stared at Spinel. He looked down at his limb enhancers for a moment or two, before returning his gaze to Spinel. He analysed the gem, looking at his purple & grey color scheme, which probably also appeared more blackish due to the night. He looked at Spinel's palms while analyzing him, noticing his Gemstone was on his right palm. He also notice that Spinel was taller then him. Yay, another person that can tell him that he's short. He stared at Spinel again, blinking occasionally, waiting for a reply.
"Well aren't you optimistic..." A smile creased across Spinel's lips. "Day's of attempted repair, all for nothing." "Why waste so much time on a lost cause? Out of every Gem that makes their way here, I have yet to see a single one of them leave the planet." He said, noticing what appeared to be robotic limbs on this Gem.
"Who are you anyways?" "My name is Spinel." He said with a bow. "If you were to take off your visor, I would know your name." He said with a smile. He did so enjoy being taller, more powerful than the Gems around him, but that wasn't always the case. This was a rare opportunity to be intimidating with an almost pure chance that he would come out on top no matter the outcome.
"If you were to take off your visor, I would know your name." "Or, I could just tell you.. It's Zircon."He said curious as to why he wanted him to take his visor off. He let that first sentence Spinel said sink in for a moment, before replying with "Well, I guess it's hopeless in your eyes, but I still have some hope." He said, looking into the night sky for a moment before returning his gaze too Spinel.
"I try because that's the only thing Ican do." He stated. "If I don't try then it is hopeless." He said afterwards. "And hope is all I have left at this point." He said sadly. "Without it.. I have nothing. If that makes any sense.."
With his smile growing slightly, Spinel began pacing in front of Zircon. "Or, I could just tell you.. It's Zircon." "That works too, but it's much less fun." He said with a chuckle. "Well, I guess it's hopeless in your eyes, but I still have some hope. I try because that's the only thing I can do. If I don't try then it is hopeless, and hope is all I have left at this point." Spinel's smile slowly decayed, and his pacing slowed. "Without it.. I have nothing. If that makes any sense.."
Spinel stopped, and stared at Zircon for a few seconds. "...So your life is meaningless without Homeworld?" He said, laughing. He continued his pacing, and began to speak once more. "What a sad existence to have your only devotion be towards those who programmed you." He said, turning his back to the Zircon. "Tell me, what's it like to be a slave?"
Zircon's eyes looked down, and he went silent. Those last two things Spinel said hit him hard. He went back to the pillar he was at earlier, and sat back down- also like earlier. He stayed silent. He simply sat there, trying to think if he evenwanted to respond. He sighed, not bringing his eyes up still. It had started to rain a little, the raindrops falling onto his limb enhancers rolled off onto the ground below.
Zircon didn't want to respond anymore. He looked up for a moment at the rain, causing raindrops to fall onto his visor. His hair was getting pretty wet as well, making it fall down. He looked back down, still silent. It had been a few minutes now..

Fuscite had positioned himself above the duo, standing on the wall. His armor's camouflage matched the surrounding area almost perfectly. The old explorer had been watching the blue Gem for the past...well, Fuscite didn't quite know. He wasn't the best at telling time. Speaking of time, how long had he been on 'Earth' as the blue Gem had said? Hrm. That distracted him for a few minutes while he thought about it. His attention was brought back to the real world, however, when a newcomer had entered the facility. This one was purple, and wore black garments. He then listened to their conversation for a bit before meandering off into his mind again. The subject of their banter was of a place he had not visited in a LONG time: Homeworld. He had mixed feelings of the place where he was created, most of them blurred and buried beneath all of the other clutter that had made itself at home in Fuscite's consciousness. He decided to...How would one say it? Toy, yes. He wanted to toy with the blue Gem. He extended his arm towards the center of the pillars and projected a hologram. It was a green diamond that appeared to be rotating, and was roughly the size of Fuscite's hand.
Spinel turned, walking back to the Zircon. "But, you are still a sentient, intelligent Gem, and might be saved from your ignorance." With a smile, he began to speak once more. "I can offer you strength, intelligence, wisdom, and protection when need be." Spinel paused for a second, looking at his Gem.
"All Homeworld wants is to use you until you hold nothing of value. Then they'll just throw you away, as they did me." He held out his hand, looking Zircon in the eyes. "If you do as I ask, I can give you all that I mentioned before and more. Homeworld wouldn't even consider that for you. What do you say?" As he held his hand out, he was unaware of the projection that played behind him.
Zircon was rather shocked by this idea at first. Betraying Homeworld? The idea was absurd.. Until he thought of what Spinel said. He was right. Zircon was just another number.. Homeworld didn't care about him.. Than he thought about him being Mr. O's lackey.. He would convince him later. He took Spinels hand and pulled himself up. He looked at the projection chins Spinel. "There's something behind you.. Like a green diamond or something.. Zircons gem glowed dimly now, lighting just a small area around his gem. Zircon let go of his hand, and inched closer to it, curious. He turned his right lim enhancer into a blaster, and stared at it, a stern look on his face. He prepared himself for whatever was about to happen.

Fuscite took a few steps upwards and focused in on the blue gem. For some reason, the purple gem hadn't noticed his hologram yet. Huh. But that blue gem... He did something with his arm. His gaze moving slightly towards center mass, Fuscite noticed the blue Gem had a yellow diamond emblazoned on his chest, as did Fuscite. The old explorer looked down, or rather, sideways at his chest to where the diamond would be if the armor wasn't camouflaging it. The time was now, Fuscite decided, to make a move. The green diamond solidified into a Holo-Fuscite and stood at attention, facing the two. It eyed Zircon's arm and stepped to the side of it. It was a very threatening finger.
With a smile, Spinel pulled the Zircon up. "Excellent. Shall we be off?" He asked, about to walk to the exit of the communication hub, when he heard the Zircon say something. "There's something behind you.. Like a green diamond or something.." Spinel turned, and saw the item. "Yes..." He said, and he begun to circle it.
Before he could do so for long, however, it begun to materialize, a Gem seemed to form from it. He summoned his khopesh, just in case it would be needed, pointing it towards the hologram. "Greetings." He said, the blade a couple feet away from the hologram. "Welcome to our little party. Would you care to join us?" He asked, the blade still pointed toward it.
His gaze followed the hologram for a moment, before looking around. This diamond thing had to have come from somewhere, right? Lightning struck in the clouds, followed by thunder. He took a few steps forward, looking around again, before continuing forward. "Show yourself.." He said somewhat loudly. He summoned his sabre in his free hand, raindrops falling onto the blade as he held it by his side. He continued searching around, his feet sinking about a millimeter into the ground with each step. He needed to get night vision in that visor of his, because he couldn't see much in the darkness and rain. He stopped for a second to search around. The small bits of electricity on his blaster armed flashed brightly in the darkness every now and then, as he continued searching once more.

Fuscite looked towards the sky as it darkened and rain began falling. He activated the night vision in his visor and repositioned himself so that he was inverted on one of the sideways pillars somewhere in the middle section. Several more Holo-Fuscites appeared from green diamonds, forming a half-circle around the two gems below. The bright green aura that emanated from them was a stark contrast to the dim blue of the landscape. As the rainfall became more intense, Fuscite frowned inside his helmet. He wasn't much of a fan of rain.Reaching out, Fuscite grabbed his cape and held it close to him, so it wouldn't stick out. Acid rain was something he especially disliked. Fuscite was pretty sure this wasn't acid rain. Acid rain wasn't typically blue. But who knows on this planet. Things couldn't be THAT bad, as gems lived here. Looking away from his cape and back to the two gems, Fuscite focused in on the purple and black gem. He seemed odd, that one. He had some sort of sword aimed at one of his holograms. The rest of the Holo-Fuscites moved to group up in front of the gem.
A smile creased across Spinel's lips as more of the holograms appeared. 'They're certainly not real Gems, then.' he thought. Then he saw the others come down, about 6 of them. They begun advancing towards him. Turning to Zircon, he laughed a bit. "Let me show you a small taste of my power, friend." With a bright flash of white, Spinel's humanoid form transformed into that of a serpentine one. With one quick motion, he soon tore his way through all of the holograms like butter. After another bright flash, Spinel's form converted back to normal.
Looking back at the blue Gem, he smiled. "I'm glad you accepted my offer. I've always wanted an apprentice to pass my knowledge onto." He stepped back to the blue Gem, putting his hand on his shoulder. "Come, we must leave before the enemy stops hiding behind his puppets." He then released the blue Gem's shoulder and begun walking quickly to the warp pad.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
