"Logdate 12 30 7, this is Turquoise: I have taken a small detour from my regular research to see if..." Turquoise went silent for a moment, as she stood at the broken warp pads on the Space Warp. She looked at the main warp pad in silence for a moment, before talking to the holographic screen above her wrist tech again with a slight frown on her face. "To see if the results of my previous mineral tests can help in the repair of the Space Warp. Though I'm well aware that repairing or building things aren't what I was made for, due to an immediate lack of gems to do this, I've taken the responsibility to at least try and repair it."
Turquoise had been several times to the Space Warp, after it had been ruined. Each time, she had just a little bit more research behind her back to aid her in the repairs. None of the times when she had tried, she had been successful. This wasn't going to hold her back though.
As she opened her arms, a large pile of shards of all kinds dropped down before her feet. Stone shards, glass shards, regular Earth gemstone shards; several centuries of research and selection had left her with these shards. She pushed them over to the side of the main warp pad, which had multiple large cracks in it. Raising her wrist tech to her face again, Turquoise finished her report. "This is Turquoise, signing off."
Sitting down on her knees and leaning over the cracks, Turquoise started pushing shards in the cracks where they fit best. One by one, she placed, replaced, and removed her shards. For four days, she went on doing this non-stop, until finally every crack was filled with shards that fit so well, you could hardly see the gaps between them. After this, Turquoise stood up and tried warping back towards Homeworld. Nothing happened.
With a blank face, Turquoise sat down in front of the main warp pad, looking at it in the hopes that at least it would allow gems to warp in. Two more days passed, no gem warped in. Not on the Homeworld warp pad. Behind Turquoise, the sound of an activating warp pad appeared, as a fellow gem arrived on the only working warp pad.
(Please only gems Turquoise hasn't met yet)
