Name: Nephrite Facet-2E2A Cut-8CT
Appeared Gender: Female
Appeared Age: 13
Gemstone:

Gemstone Location: Forehead
Corrupted: No
(If Corrupted)Monster Form: A two-legged, ball-like creature with talons and a large mouth.
Appearance:

Personality: Behind Nephrite's cute and weak-looking exterior hides a tough, little pilot. Her morale isn't easily broken, and she'd make the ultimate sacrifice for her Diamond. Towards her allies, she'll often appear as a sweet, funny companion, while towards those she doesn't know, she prefers seeming a cold-hearted rock. This isn't just a technique to keep enemies from walking over her, for it's also the result of being literally looked down upon all her life.
If there's one thing Nephrite loves though, it's her job as a pilot. She just can't get enough of moving through space at near-light speed. When the green gem is in a cockpit, that's when others will see the real Nephrite: a thrill-seeker who'd appear absolutely reckless if you didn't take her powers in consideration. Some gems have described a flight with Nephrite as a near-death experience. If only Nephrite showed a little consideration for her fellow gems while she was inside the cockpit, it'd be fine, but she just loves the thrill of flying just past deadly projectiles.
Likes/Dislikes:
Likes: Flying, her spaceship, being better than others, strong stories, new experiences, and sparring.
Dislikes: Being grounded for a long time, rebels, large bodies of water, and people who disrespect her ship.
Fears: Losing her ship, getting stranded, and deep bodies of water.
Weapon: A simple, green nightstick. It's straight-forward and has no abilities of its own. It just simply is a hard thing with which to hit people and things that get too close.
Ability 1: Nephrite can observe her surroundings at as if time were slowed down around her. To others it might just seem as if her eyes and fingers go all twitchy, but to her everything just slows down about three times normal speed. While this doesn't tire her out like some abilities would for gems, she does have to activate it. This means that if she would get hit in a way she couldn't see coming, she won't have the time to react. Due to the way gem ships connect to the gem controlling it, Nephrite will usually be able to use her ability to dodge attacks or obstacles. On the ground, however, she isn't able to move her limbs fast enough to get a lot of use out of this ability. The only thing it's useful for there, is for quick evaluations of the safety of her surroundings.
Ability 2: When focusing hard enough, Nephrite can create what she calls a "quiet bubble". This is an invisible, orb-shaped area around her that can become just a little over the average size of a gem spaceship. Sound cannot travel between the inside and outside of the orb, making it a great tool on stealth missions. As long as Nephrite is focussing on this orb, it'll stay intact. However, when she enters combat, or gets into an argument, it's likely to disappear.
Fusions: None
History: For the 600 years she's existed, Nephrite has been one of the go-to pilots for any important Pink Diamond-issued flight. She was one of the Nephrites that came from a rather good Kindergarten near Earth's solar system. Just like those other Nephrites, she was in great shape, and had the perfect balance of recklessness and strategy. Pretty much her entire life, she guided Pink Diamond's best gems from and to their missions, as well as accompanying them on the ground. There she would help setting up camps, setting up communications with the moon base, and protect the gear and technology. None of these things she's particularly good at, but she manages to make life for the other gems just a little easier.
Now, Pink Diamond is sending a group of gems down to Earth, to investigate the situation there. It's up to Nephrite to bring them down safely, and help them back to the moon base once they're done. Nephrite herself thinks this is going to be just as simple as usual. Now it's time to wait and see if that is the case.
Character Arcs: Basically just the Homeworld Arrival plot line.
