The smoky Quartz agreed

"The Archangel Network?"

He pulled out a Tablet
And showed Chip



"See? The Archangel Network is just a theory, I don't have the resources to make it a reality. Yet. While back ago I have noticed the humans, tho' primitive biological lifeforms, have several devices orbiting the planet. They are using them for communication and predict the future weather. And lesser degree, for scientific purposes. But I think we could use them, or built our own network, for a more... specific reason. If we could build a Gem Destabilizer in these satelites, we could cover the whole Planet, no Crystal Gem would be safe... global waves or focused shots to a certain area... but as I said, this is just theory..."

The Smoky quartz showed the network simulation around Earth; dozens of orbital platfroms

"Actually, since the Gem Destabilizer is just "destroy" the physical form, the body of the Gems, make them poof... the Archangel Network can't wipe out the Gems on Earth! I am not that insane.... And the first rule of any developement is: always have a shelter from your own weapon. So you and I would be safe, and our allies too... But even if the Archangel Network could wipe out our kind on Earth, would that be a bad thing? Earth would be safe from the Gems, and the Corruption! The corrupted Gems would die with us. Not a big price to save the Empire from the Corruption, or the humans... but as I said, the Gem Destabilizer just makes Gems poof. Its really the most bloodless solution in our whole history! No fighting. No victims. No casualities. No shattering or cracking. Just poof. Then our Humans will collect the poofed Gems and we bubble them. With the Archangel Network we wouldn't even need to fight with the Monsters! We could capture and save them without fighting and hurting them!"

Morion explained enthusiasticly

Chip listened... and he wasn't at all surprised, that Morion in fact had a plan for a Space laser death ray machine... or... was it space laser death ray network? The theory behind it was sound though... and it didn't involve shattering any gems, which was a step in the right direction. Sure, weapons of mass destruction weren't the answer to most problems...

"You have too much theory, everything too... advanced. You should come up with something, that we could do with the technology available. Unless you could find some skilled gem engineer who could build you this network from a paperclip and a duct tape... which seems unlikely..."

He said. Humans had lesser technology, but still quite effective. Chip saw a lot of it... though mostly not from up close.

[Morion]

"Well now, I do have Gem friends... some of them are technicans, and some of them have ships!"

Morion nodded

"And almost a dozen crashlanded Gem ships, stolen and scavenged Gem-tech... so actually it is just a matter of time"

The Smoky Quartz admited
But Archangel was far from reality... not enough time, and more concerning matters^^

"You know... you are not the rest of the Gems... you are, and please my boy, take it as a compliment, like a Human. Heh... I once singed a song about that to Melody..."

The Assassin snickered

"Anyhow, you are like a human... a teenager. I am sure, your immagination is far better than mine, if it comes to... well "come up with something." Not necessarily weapons or something like that... but deffenise devices and methods!"

"Well... I wanted to get rid of those rebels I would let humans doing it for me. I would probably staged something, blame it on Crystal gems... and then I would offer my help to the humans... well with advice only, I wouldn't give them anything they could use against me... but I would help humans find them... and then left them to do their thing..."

He said. After all there were plenty of humans out there... and they had primitive technology, but thy could just swarm them. After all there was enough people on this planet. If they would decide to wipe out the Gems left on the planet, they could do so with boards with nails in it.

"Can't you just stick all those wrecked ships together and make one functional? Or at least semi-functional? Or just make a huge radio out of them? If you have all those technology..." 

[Morion]

"I will consider your plan..."

The Smoky Quartz promised^^

"Using the ship parts? Working on it Chip, working on it! 24/7 the best of our humans are working on the giant colony ship, my first base in Columbia. Sometimes it will fly again and we are free from this misrable planet's deadly graps! Communication is a bit harder... but..."

Morion rested on his cane

"Repairing the communication hubs are not important any more... You know, not so long ago the Herald of Pink Diamond arrived... a.... Fusion"

The Smoky Quartz growled a little and his eye twitched
But managed to remain calm
He clearly dispised the Fusions

"The Pink Matriarch is this planet rightfull owner... And before you start to object, she and her Court was here before Humanity and in her benevolance, she let them develope... to evolve. Maybe she even helped them! It is Her planet, her domain. And she is on her way to Earth... at least that is the latest news, but coming from her Herald? I think that is not just a rumor..."

[Chip the Fire Opal]

"Fusions... I know very little about fusions... but I kinda gathered you are not a fan... tell me more about fusions. I know the basics I think... two or more gems, merging into one... but that's kinda it... "

Chip was very curious about a lot of things, but this one was especially interesting for him. After all, it had to be something special... yet Morion was talking about them with apparent bitterness. Was his dog killed by a fusion or something? Certainly looked that way...

"Well I hope, if it is her planet (which I guess humans would disagree strongly) she will be against the whole "kill everything". Hopefully. But I believe in her arrival when I see it... until then it is just a rumor."

He said adamantly. One hand hand he wanted to see the galaxy, the Homeworld... on the other hand he wouldn't mind if the Diamonds left Earth alone...

"Lecture tiiiime"

The Smoky Quartz smiled
But it was more of a devilis grin^^

"Fusion Gems are the product of two or more Gems. Fusions are formed when the participants are emotionally harmonious with each other. This state can be spontaneous but it is usually achieved deliberately through a synchronized "Gem dance". When Gems fuse, their bodies and minds become one. This creates an entirely different entity."

He explained

"Im am an anti-fusionist so to speak. Same Gem Fusions are just warmachines, powerful weapons. But the Fusion of two different Gem? Now that is an abomination! Fusions... are nothing else, just weapons of mass destruction. Several same type Gems come together to form a bigger and stronger version of themselfs. Rubies. They are dumb and mass produced, like Pearls, but the idea of Fusing Pearls are disgusting! We don't really need bigger servants. Now the Rubies... they are expendable, so their Fusion is somewhat acceptable. But the Fusion of the Quartz Knights?"

The Assassin shivered

"The fusion of different tpye Gems? Abominations. Horrible monsters... We are not-real enough to begin with.... just projections form a smart stone"

The Smoky Quartz's sound was bitter
He growled a little

"The same-gem fusion is at least something "same"... look, immagine yourself as a bowl of water. Orange water, okay? Everythig is Chip is in that bowl. The Orane water. Your memories, personality, desires, fears, secrets, thoughts, knowledges... everything! Now, I'm sure you never seen a Ruby-fusion on the battlefield, three or four or more Rubies gather together to form a Fusion, a giant Ruby-soldier. Now, in our example, that means there are four different bowl of water. The four different Ruby. When they fuse, all the four bowl's contents are poured into one giant bowl. Mixing... They lost themselves! Try to separate that mixed four bowls of water... you could pour it from the big bowl to the four smaller... but you never could get the same back! Different-Gem fusions are worse! You are a bowl of Orange water "Chip", and an Ruby is a bowl of Red. Mix them togeteher... to form a Fusion. Could you ever get back the pure Orange water of your "self?"

The Smoky Quartz asked

"Fusions are powerful, yes... but the price is too high! If anybody you should understand my problem with Fusions! But not juts mine... the same-Gem fuisons are as I said weapons of mass destruction, they are tolerated. The different tpye Gem-fusions? They are an anathema in the eyes of the Homeworld. A taboo. Its is a disdained thing and a crime actually... But... Pink Diamond is gentle and tolerate... this is why she allowed this Fusion to exist. I am not happy with it... but guess times are changing... "

Morion grumbled

Chip listened and frowned. He didn't like the explanation. And he hated one part especially.

"Maybe you are not real! But I am... I don't care my body is just a projection, it's a part of me! And I can think for myself, I can do what I want... I am as real as they get... if we are not real, then why do you care about anything? Why do you care about me, if I am not real?"

He said quite angrily. He disliked the idea, that Morion thought of them as something... unreal? Smart stones? Bah... Chip was different from humans, but he was as real as they were... he would never accept any other explanations...

"Hmmm... I can see you dislike fusions... but I think it sounds exciting! Sharing your mind with someone else could teach you so much... but it's true that loosing yourself in the mix might be... slightly disturbing... but I guess there is a way around that... must be..."

He sounded even more curious then before...

[Morion]

"Quite possible, I am just the fragment of your immagination..."

The Smoky Quartz nodded

"But I supose that would mean, you have a quite a twisted mind my boy! Or you are just dreaming... stil slumbering in the Crust..."

Morion mused

"Zhuangzi said once: Once upon a time, I dreamt I was a butterfly, fluttering hither and thither, to all intents and purposes a butterfly. I was conscious only of my happiness as a butterfly, unaware that I was myself. Soon I awaked, and there I was, veritably myself again. Now I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly, dreaming I am a man..."

The Assassin shook his head

"Sorry it is really not the best time and place for deep philosophy... were were we? Ah yes, Fusions! Please Chip, I beg you, don't try it! Avoid it! Is is dangerous! In your state especially... I am afraid, a stronger Gem would consume your mind... and soul during a Fusion!"

[Chip the Fire Opal]

"And this is exactly why I don't want to ask you things... I asked you simple question.... what is fusion. You gave me another lecture, then you forbade me of ever trying it... then you told me I don't exist, which is bullsh*t and then you give me ANOTHER lecture, this time not even making any sense... it made like... negative sense..."

He said frustrated. He had no idea who is Zhuangzi or what he was taking that he was turning into a butterfly.

"Fortunately I got a lot stronger since you found me, so I'm pretty sure I could do it... and you can't tell me I can't because you don't exist apparently... and if someone really did consume my mind there would be no shame in that since I don't exist... so it is all just metaphysical talk of 2 hypothetical mind... since neither of us exists..."

He finished, still angry at the mere suggestion that he is not real...

[Morion]

"Not forbade you... asked you, not to do it. But it is your choice!"

The Smoky Quartz shrugged

"Just warned you... it is dangerous!

Morion nodded

"Yes... Yes, you are stronger. And not from just wandering around aimlessly! You trained! Learned! Your traning is multi layered. Eventually you will understand, there is a reason I lectrue you whenever possible!"

The Smoky Quartz smiled politely

"I know one thing thats real for sure Chip! Your chores! So, If you don't have any questions... there are several tings to do around here in the Tower! But If you are done, I am sure, our humans will find something for you to do..."

He pussed a button, the elevator strated again

"Just call me if you need anyting, or need help... or have a question!"
