Name: Cut 26DE, Facet 8LL (called Lazuli a lot)
Appeared Gender: Female
Appeared Age: late teens
Gemstone: a teardrop-shaped dark blue lazuli gem.
Gemstone Location: Upper right arm
Corrupted: She doesn’t get corrupted
Appearance:
Personality: Lazuli isn’t very reserved; she’s confident and headstrong, almost hotheaded despite her being a lazuli. She is afraid to fail, and will become very defensive if she does. Suprisingly, she hasn’t learned to summon her weapon, despite often being in warzone settings. Lazuli is almost extremely determined, which can sometimes lead to her embarrassment, and eventually, becomes a downfall for her. She's pretty insecure about her hydrokinesis abilities, and while she was on Homeworld, felt pretty useless, given she didn't know she could summon a weapon and thought she was just much weaker than other gems of her kind. As such, she's pretty intent on doing the best job she can in order for her to not feel like a failure. As a result, she sets very high standards for herself and will probably snap if she can't live up to them.
Likes/Dislikes: water, combat| high ranking gems, giving up/losing
Fears: large gems, fire, she won’t be ready in a fight, and thus will be killed.
Weapon: Gold trident with a lapis lazuli handle. It is about as tall as her. (5’9’’)
Ability 1: Hydrokinesis (weak), Hydro-Matter manipulation- Like other gems of her type, she has a limit of control over water, but unlike most, she can manipulate its state of matter in exchange for the amount of skill a more powerful Lazuli could achieve. She can cycle the substance in question through all 3 states, or skip liquid and go straight to gas or solid. Her matter-manipulation powers only work on substances mostly made of water, or consist of mostly pure water. Another uncommon skill she has is that she can draw water out of things such as plants, but may only change its state once she can see it or tangibly feel the water. In addition, she cannot create things such as water clones, and cannot manipulate excessive amounts. She is limited to manipulating the water from a large-ish pond, but even that is a strain. If she uses all the water in said pond, it will take her 3 posts to cool down if she manipulates all water in said pond, changing it to steam, ice, etc.
Ability 2: Memory Projection- any memory she’s ever had, she can display via hydrokinesis. She must form a mirror-like surface in order for this ability to work. The substance she's projecting onto must follow the same rule as the water she can manipulate the state of. ( Mostly made of/ Mostly Pure water) In the beginning, she only knows how to use her hydrokinesis for this purpose and this purpose alone. If she follows through with arc three, version a, she'll be able to use her power for more than just Memory Projection. But if she follows through with Arc Three, Version B, she won't get any better with her abilities, or even know how to summon her weapon, and will still only know how to project her memories.
History
As soon as she'd been "born" and an organic would call it, Lazuli had known what she'd been meant to do; Function as an Aggressive Environmental Terraformer, otherwise known as a variation of your basic terraformer that would go to especially hostile planets-wether it be a competly barren desert planet, or one that barely met the requirements for colonization-and transform them into suitable colonies for a kindergarten. Simple enough. Her varitation-the Denim Lapis-were built for such a task, due to being made extra-tough. Regardless, it was her first day on the job, and she'd been determined to not screw up, lest be deemed defective. Soon, another gem, one significantly taller than herself instructed the Lazuli into a room, where she would recieve further orders. Back straight and bracers gleaming, the blue lady strolled down the massive corridor, often seeing other gems, albeit, most were just lower-class servants with the occassional quartz roaming around. Despite feeling as though it took ages, Lazuli showed herself into a large, ornate room, a few massive warps located in rows. Around several stood variations of quartzes, ranging from Topazes all the way to Amethysts. In her wonder, she almost bumped into another Lapis, this one thankfully nudging her into the line, lest the both of them draw attention.
A hulking Amazonite walked along the line of Lazuli gems, stopping at each one to assign them a quartz, send them off to a warp, and bore her eyes into the pairs the whole time. Eventually, the Amazonite stood tall above her, checked a screen she'd been holding, and finally broke the tense silence:
"Lapis Lazuli, Cut 26DE, Facet 8LL, Denim variation, you will be paired with Topaz, Cut 35PB, Facet 1DM." she spat out, her words marked by a distinctively curt tone. "You two board a ship behind me, which will take you to a warp at Her Majesty Pink Diamond's sole colony, in order to warp to a new colony under Her Majesty Blue Diamond's merciful reign, where you shall do you jobs. Now, please board the ship behind me and prepare to leave the atmosphere."
The pair stepped forward, Lazuli moving quite a bit more excitedly than the significantly older Topaz-who'd probably done this a million times by now-and onto the ship, the vessel exiting the rather large hangar rapidly, making its way into the planet's stratosphere before using the age-old black-hole-technique to transport the ship and its passengers to the new colony. Quickly, the Nephrite pilot landed the ship, escorted the two off, and took off again, probably to bring more pairs over.
Eventually, Lazuli processed what had just happened, and when she did, the blue lady realized that she was currently standing in front of a large spire, which the topaz was now dragging her up. With there seeming to be no other ways up, Lazuli followed her, still ripping onto her large, blue hand. Eventually, they reached the top, which, unfortunately was the most crowded. But for some reason, Lazuli's escort seemed to want to plow through the conglomerate of gems to get to a relatively obscured warp. Albeit, rushing may have not been the best of ideas, because soon Lazuli was bumping into gems left and right. Then it hit her. Literally.
one gem she'd accidentally bumped into decided a little bumping back was in order, and proceeded-by purpose or accident, she couldn't tell-to knock Lazuli off the spire entirely. Though, if there was one good thing about falling, it was that it didn't last lon-
-g. With a poof, she'd hit the ground below the ornately-carved spire, causing only her gem to remain. Soon enough, her gem'd been camoflaged by algae and sand, so while she was in her nigh-comatose slumber, nothing would've disturbed her. That is, nothing until several hundred years later.
