Morion was right, this place was alive... sure, it wasn't exactly teeming with life but it was here. Certainly more then the prime kinder garden... that place was completely dead. Perhaps this place was shut down earlier? Or was functional for shorter time? Seemed like Earth won this one...
"I feel something weird... coming from down there... there is... some weird sort of connection. I believe my shard is over there... but that is all I can tell... I have to check it..."
He flew down the canyon, pretending like he was looking for some kind of pray or dead animal or something. His gem was on his back, so it wasn't to obvious. But he saw nothing... he flew back to Morion...
"There is nothing down there... but I know he's there..."
"There is no such thing as coincidence There are only auspicious occasions..." . The smoky grey raven mused Watched his young apprentice, as the young Fire Opal circled in his volture form Morion nodded to the kid's report
"Strange... a weird connection you say? What kind? Maybe if you would try to meditate, you could strenghten the link between you and your shard? Locate it?"
The assasson looked to the Injectors
"You know kid, a Kindergarten is way more than a couple of Injectors and holes in the crust. These things are actually just the part of a larger complex. I think you never saw the other Kindergarten's "heart". There is a complex, a command center usually undergound, deep in the crust, to monitor the developing Gems. There must be a panel somewhere to activate the elevator. There is nothing on the surface... but maybe there is something under it. Laboratories and such... plenty of room to hide. Or set up an ambush..."

"I am really not sure I want to connect to it again. The dream was quite enough and I am not sure if I could handle it once again... so let's just blast our way into that complex and let's search it... or do you know your way inside? Is it even safe? Wouldn't that place be full of corruption? Or something worse?"
So many questions... but they were here and there was no way he was going to leave without the shard. Plus Morion could surely use some tech from this Kindergarden...
"Why aren't there our minions here too? Like in the alfa Kindergarden?"
He asked. Perhaps Morion was just methodical - first the prime, then the others? Who could have known...
"Not to mention, your Shard could became corrupted over the years... and the Corruption is still a mistery for us. We don't know if it could infect you with a mental connection. Then agan, if it could, then you already had your fair share of connection"
"We came here to investigate, but no sign of trap, or guards... we can shapeshift back"
He took his panther form
"Every Kidnergarten is the same... so I know the layout. Let's go..."
"Why aren't our minions here, defending this Kindergarten too? One step at a time kiddo... the humans are plenty, but not limitless. I wanted to secure the important sites, then move on the secondary targets, like this mini-garden. Maybe it was a mistake to neglect or expanison... I... I just... look, you don't really the biggest fan about our Empire methods and expansion, and quite vocal about it am I right? I just didn't wanted to... remind you, our little criminal empire and web of influence is like the Gem Empire. Alway expanding, always gathering resurces untill nothing remain and everything is ours. So I... slowed down a bit, so you... can, you know... learn to accept this, and don't feel yourself bad about the whole thing, just because you are a part of it

"We will find out when we finds him... or it... or whatever it will be... but I don't like the idea it could infect me by connecting our minds... or entering my dreams... it's quite disturbing..."
He said. He didn't felt corrupted, but he never was corrupted as far as he knew, so he had nothing to compare it too... but right he had to keep his head up, his mind clear... there will be time to think about that. Instead he transformed back into his own form, only covered by paint... he actually looked quite sinister right now...
"I guess vulture and raven entering the facility wouldn't be quite stealthy..."
He admitted. There wasn't an army waiting and stealth won't help them inside Kindergarden. He listened tto Morion and had to smile a little.
"I appreciate you did that for me. I doubt the Empire would do that for me... or anyone. Let's talk about it some more when we're back home... with my shard safely in bubble... but thanks."
"Yeah, considering that abomination, Sulfur is possibly corrupted too! And invaded our minds, our dreams... I am still suspecting that would be Gem dust is responsible all of our current problems! Her uninvited presence in our minds left open a "gate", weakened our mental deffenses, so these things, like your Shard's connection could happened! But we will have our revenge kiddo, don't worry... one kill at a time! Patiece is a virtue..."
The Smoky Quartz nodded
"No, you are right Chip... the Diamonds never would have stopped for your sake. Nor the Empire. But the important thing is to understand kid: we are not that important to expect, they would have to. But sometimes they do such things... belive it or not. But... I don't think it is a good idea to talk about these things later back at home. Or for that matter, ever. Pointless and always ends in arguments.

"I don't want to sound like "I told you so" but I was against that abomination from the start... I knew it was dangerous... and despicable... if it would be up to me I would shatter him long time ago! That would stop him from invading our minds... stupid Sulfur.... but he will pay for it one day! And Diamonds help me if he ever try to invade my dream ever again!"
Talking about Sulfur made him really really angry. It was his biggest failure... after all he would be shattered if there wasn't the human that got himself killed instead of Chip...
"Well seems like I am that important for you... and you are important to me... and actually I think we should talk more about Homeworld... I mean... you want me to be loyal... but I don't know much about it... and I would like to... but now let's get inside!"
"No, kiddo... you were right. There is no shame in it; admiting you were wrong is not a crime"
The smoky Quartz shook his head "I knew that abomination is dangerous yet tried to see something that wasn't there: hope. Hope for her. And of course tried to use her to my advantages... it was a horrible mistake."
Morion admited "Next time if you give a Gem the death mark, I will kill it. No questions."
The Gem nodded
"You are important kid, it was never a secret... but I still don't know if it is a good idea to talk about these things; we tried. I failed. We will see...."
The Assassin searched the panel, then activated the elevator and they went down
Post by Chip the Fire Opal on Jan 17, 2017 13:23:05 GMT
"I don't want to be a hypocrite, since you also give chance to me... it's nice that you are trying to do so. Then again even Kyle Katarn had a student falling to the dark side... and he was a jedi master!"
Chip once again used his knowledge of human fictional stories. The fact, that Morion probably had no idea what he meant wasn't all that important for Chip.
"You're much wiser then I am... and I'm not a Diamond... I could make mistakes... so please, don't shatter anyone, just because I point at them."
Though Chip wouldn't be terribly sad, if Sulfur would happen to meet a terrible end... "Yeah, but this time I want to hear more about Homeworld, about Diamonds... well about everything Homeworld related."
The elevator was slowly descending with them. The shard was here... he felt it... but something was wrong. Like it wasn't itself? Seemed like this place was run by someone... since it was actually on... someone was using this place to do... something?
"A who and a what...? Ohhh... human culture. Yes, I studied it, as you suggested. I supose you still thinsk the Jedi and the Republic are the good guys..."
The Smoky Quartz murmured
"...despite the facts"
"Everybody could make mistakes kiddo... Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes"
The assassin looked around
"The place is in good condition... I think it is fully operational, or at least with a little work, could be. No sign of battles or sabotage... or scavangers, for that matter. The automated deffense system is offline, I think... or simply the robonoids and drones wandered away, or were deacitvated. Strange tho'... it is not like an abandoned research facility, or command canter. I think we are not alone... anyhow, since we were not greeted by guards, I tink we are in luck, and our host is alone..."
Post by Chip the Fire Opal on Jan 17, 2017 14:01:20 GMT
"Well yeah, sure. Jedi are the good guys... republic is more... grey... but still... this was actually a good story. Kyla Katarn was an imperial, but joined the good guys after he witnessed a massacre of innocent people by the Empire... you know what? Never mind, let's get going..."
Yeah, the Empire had some good qualities, but there was the oppression, killing of thousands, destroying entire planets... ruling through fear and military might...
"Yeah, this place seems like someone's still there... and doing something they shouldn't... and I think you're mistaken... since someone is coming... "
Chip said and pointed to one corridor... some weird gems were closing in... but, they were not right... it looked like a bunch of arms... and legs, weirdly joined together...
"The what? Good guys? You know Palpatine wasn't the hero the Republic deserved, he was the hero they needed, someone - the only one - who could break the crushing grip of an implacable horde of spacemagical fanatics, and usher in a future of freedom. That he defeated them by correctly guessing that the Jedi, if handed a secret army, would use to wage a war, and programming that army to kill them, using his legal authority to do so, just shows he had a damned fine sense of irony, to boot. If the Jedi had not abused their power to the absolute maximum degree, Palpatine would never even have had the opportunity to divide, weaken, and destroy them; if that doesn't prove he was the hero of the story, what could? He and Vader did terrible things, but they left the galaxy a better place than they found it..."
"We can talk about this later..."
He turned to the "Gems" "Diamonds, what are those things...?"
The assassin summoned his scimitar "Do you want to try and talk to these.... things?"
After all, his little apprentice asked him to not to shatter anyone if it is possible
Post by Chip the Fire Opal on Jan 17, 2017 18:44:23 GMT
"I guess killing thousands, enslaving millions, strip mining worlds, wiping entire species and finally pissing galaxy off to the level that most of it rose in rebellion was good thing? To gain power he orchestrated war... only to end his reign with another war, both of them started because of him... that isn't exactly a sign of great leadership. The only good thing about their rule was, that most of the galaxy united after he fell... killed by his own minion, who learned how much off a prick Palpatine was... "
This time Morion was surely wrong. After all he ruled Empire city... and there were no rebellion against HIM! So he was a good ruler... not like Palpatine...
But then the gem monster came. Chip summoned his lance.
"Yeah, let's "talk" to them..."
Chip lunged forward, slamming into the first monster, stabbing it and poofing it instantly. The gem fell to the ground... but it looked like 3 pieces of shards merged into one... but there wasn't time to be wondering about it... there were 2 more... at least right now... there could be more...
"Tell me kiddo, has it ever occurred to you, maybe you are only see things how you want to see?"
Morion asked calmly Then watched the monster
"Talk. Got it."
The Smoky Quartz moved swiftly, the blade of his scimitar poofed the monsters qucikly Tho' calling them monsters was not entirely correct. These things were... more like Gthe shard drones; not smart, not too strong, but numerous Yet without any vessel or host They were Gems... so to speak, but their form was incorrect More like a glitched form "Any observations my young Apprentice?"
Naturally, a battle - but calling this a real battle was not entirely correct either, it was more of a target practice - was an ideal place to a quick "exam"
Post by Chip the Fire Opal on Jan 17, 2017 20:37:51 GMT
"I wanted to ask you the same question actually..."
He laughed while he stabbed the last gem monster that was right there. But more were probably coming... they were easy picking, but in the larger numbers they might be really dangerous... or perhaps there were some stronger variants? Who could've known...
"It seems like someone was trying to put broken gems together... really poorly... or it could be some kind of weapon? It's seems wrong... and they also seems quite useless..."
He said, and picked up one of those glued together gems. It were obviously 3 shards, put together somehow... and they could take on a form... though the form was misshapen beyond believe. He picked up all of the shards and bubbled them together, sending them home...
This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
