After a crazy couple days the Forge had finally been cleaned up, or at least parts of it had been. There were still extra parts and half-finished pieces laying around towards the back, but everything in front of the anvil was at least cleared. At the moment Para was hurriedly moving about the room gathering various tools into a duffel bag she had created herself, rather oblivious to the entrance to the Forge currently gaping wide open. She wasn't expecting any guests after being undisturbed for the last few days, as such the door was open ready for her exit. Of course this also meant anyone on the outside would have a much easier time of finding the structure's location.
If she was going to get anything fixed on this backwater planet Peridot would need modern parts and equipment. Returning to the Moon for everything she needed wasn't a long-term solution so she needed someplace on Earth. Bringing up a map of known manufacturing sites, Peridot picked the closest one to her. With the Communications Hub down she couldn't simply call in and place a request, she'd have to go visit in person. Arriving with her tiny transport ship, Peridot stepped out and opened her screen. Tapping a few indiscernible buttons the ship was issued a command. It closed its ramp and shot up into the clouds to patiently await a recall signal.
Peridot looked around, seeing nothing but a volcanic wasteland that housed the Forge. She had to wander around a bit until she caught sight of the entrance but was more concerned that she had not spotted another gem yet. She looked back from the Forge entrance and hesitated before finally walking down the open hallway. Her metallic boots announced her presence to anyone was listening. Arriving in the main room of the Forge, Peridot spotted finally spotted another gem. She had heard of the Padparadscha gem type, considered an artisan and higher-class than Peridot was, she was nothing but relieved. "Padparadscha, greetings." she announced, making herself known if she wasn't already. "I am Peridot, Facet-5 Cut-9XN, here with a request for components." she stated, giving a diamond salute.

In an instant Para stopped what she was doing and looked up to the new gem, spending a long few moments scanning them with her eyes. Eventually she straightened herself and spoke, "Hello Peridot, you require... components?" she noted the diamond salute they produced, this was a loyalist gem on her hands. A bit of an uncommon occurrence, but it did happen now and then.
"Tell me, what sort of materials are you talking about? I'm capable of making a great number of things but specialty items may take quite some time." While not particularly wishing to assist a loyalist gem her curiosity had been grabbed, and there was no real harm in entertaining the request at least for now.
With her introduction out of the way Peridot opened a screen. Taking two "fingers" away from each gauntlet, a wide screen appeared and included a holographic keypad. "Twelve flask robonoids, one plug robonoid, twenty electronic current oscillators, two-hundred meters of superconductive cabling, eight krytron switches and one hyperwave transceiver." she stated, going down a list and displaying a blueprint of each one. She took a quick glance around and noticed that it was just Para and herself in the room. 'There are no bismuths to assist nor other gems? The means of production are far too slow, this needs corrected first.' she thought. "Or a few molecular assemblers. I see none here. Those should take priority." she said and the screen began to flash elaborate blueprints for an advanced gem tech device. The screen shifted to a smaller, one-handed version and she held it out towards Para. "This is your workshop so I would not wish to interrupt your current projects." she said politely.

Although initially taken by surprise Para's instincts kicked in and her eyes began to quickly scan the blueprints as they passed on Peridot's screen. Before she could respond Peridot was already onto the next comment, like most tech gems Para knew it seemed this one was rather quick with her thoughts. At least she was concise, she'd take a quick speaking techy over a bumbling quartz.
She took the screen still a tad flustered, "Uhm, yes I'm afraid that I am currently running this place alone. I had a pearl assisting me but... that is no longer the case sadly. Still, we are working at acceptable efficiency." Although she didn't really need to (her memory for these things was photographic after all) Para looked over the screen again, "Even so, you are asking for quite a lot here. And these are rather heavy duty parts... what exactly is this for?" She actually had a pretty good idea, considering some of these parts weren't used in just anything, but she wasn't to be one hundred percent certain where this might be headed. A few seconds passed when a thought struck her as well, "And wait, did you say molecular assemblers?"
Peridot put her hands behind her hips when Para took the screen. It was a stance that showed attentiveness towards a figure of authority as a sign of respect. "Yes. The order would otherwise be large, even with a gem of your skill and a pearl to assist you, if you were not assisted by molecular assemblers. Those could handle the bulk items on the list such as the cables or robonoid components, allowing your work to optimized on more intricate parts. With the boosted productivity this request should occupy the least amount of your time, which I intend to ask the minimum of. These components should allow me make temporary, basic repairs on the Communications Hub to restore our networks. I'd then be able to perform an in-depth assessment of the damage to the Hub and provide more detailed requirements to repair it to full operation." she explained, not changing in her stance as she looked at Para. There was almost an admiration in her eyes as she was happy to see a gem capable of helping her.

Para nodded a few times, "Yes, yes of course. I am familiar with them, the facility I worked in back at Homeworld had similar devices. They were incredibly useful, although they were rarely used for anything smaller than a task such as this. Tell me, do you happen to have a schematic for one laying around? I may be able to engineer one, but sadly I lack the knowledge on their construction. With a proper blueprint it may be possible to make one to speed up future efforts..." She scratched her chin, it never really crossed her mind to pursue upgrading her production methods. It was silly now that she looked back on things, why work hard when she could work smart.
Hearing what these parts were for however was troubling, one of the few advantages the rebellion held was that communications were less than perfect between Earth and the Moon Base. If the communications hub were to be fixed that would serve only to make Homeworld's efforts all the more precise. Then again, she could always provide faulty components...
Peridot still stood in place and kept her stance as Para had spoken. The young technician was nothing but eager to work with this gem who could provide modern equipment. After her recent lack of any tools beyond what she had strapped to her, she would be more than relieved. "Of course." she responded to her question about a schematic. The screen in Para's hands flickered and the parts list changed into the blueprint for a molecular assembler coming in four different sizes. "While we're on the topic, if an additional portable molecular assembler could be made for my personal use it would reduce my need to make return trips for small parts." she explained. The thought of having such a device was almost like dreaming at this point. She did not have authorization to requisition one from the lunar base, but if Para could make her one she wouldn't even bring it up.

Upon seeing the schematic Para's eyes became busy again, making quick work scanning the details. Shortly after she had it effectively memorized, "Thank you, given enough time I should be able to produce something like this. But for a full sized machine this could take me a day or two otherwise I may put to much stress on my cores. As such these components could take up to a week if I were to make a new set." She looked up from the screen, "As for a portable one..." Again something that she wasn't sure about, giving a loyal gem a tool like this would only help Homeworld's efforts as well.
"Tell me, what specifically do you have planned for such a tool? Any particular plans or is it simply for efficiency."
"Efficiency." Peridot replied. "A portable assembler would allow me to keep my personal equipment in good repair. There are a few modifications to the Roaming Eye ship I was assigned I'd like to make, but I wouldn't want to waste your time with a mundane order of small parts. Once the portable molecular assembler is in working order it can then be utilized to craft the next tier in size, which would make the portable variant obsolete. Instead of scrapping it afterward I was hoping I could use it." she explained. On the screen Para held the images shifted to display instructions on using the molecular assemblers to build bigger and more robust models capable of large-scale projects, but the starting portable unit would be the simplest to start with.

The more Peridot explained it the more she realized it wouldn't really hurt to give her a small device like this, "I think that is doable, once the main assembler is finished I will give you the portable version to use as you wish. I'd prefer that you don't mention to anyone else that it was myself who gave it to you of course, but other than that it shall be yours. I suspect it may take me some time to make even a portable version, creating the complex circuitry needed for material fabrication is not easy." she gave the screen a last glance before handing it back off to Peridot, "That being said it is a simple job, just a matter of time. Do you have some sort of deadline for this?"
The feeling of relief and excitement Peridot felt almost made it to her face as a hint of a smile appeared. Holding her gauntlet out, the screen was accepted back as dissipated and the fingers returned to her hand. "There is no deadline for this project. There is currently no directive to make the Communications Hub operational, but when, or if, that time comes, I'll need the parts to repair it. I am currently unassigned while I seek to regroup with loyalist forces, so if you require assistance with this task, I can assist in any way you might see fit." she responded, still holding in her stance as she watched Para. Her tone was sincere, yet she did little mask how eager she was to have an operation manufacturing site. To be stuck on a planet without the ability to craft modern equipment made her feel stranded in every sense of the word.

"No directive, hmm? Simply taking the initiative then, I can appreciate that. Far too many lazy workers around, it's good to see bright minds like yourself trying to at least fix something." Of course she'd rather Peridot was putting her efforts towards Rebel activity, but she could still see her determination as the positive quality that it was. From the few peridots she had met most of them seemed like this, stubbornly determined to do their job well, it was an attractive trait for a gem made for working under all sorts of environments.
In all honesty Para was hoping to put off the task so she could go on her intended mission but upon second thought figured it'd be best if Peridot didn't need to make a return visit. Less chance of her being seen a loyalist after all... "Very well, I will have you sort out some of the circuitry required for it while I handle construction of the primary frame and projector components. With your help we may have this done before long." Without another word she cleared off the anvil and set to work creating the pieces that would form the housing for all the internal machinery.
Peridot stood with some pride, though she tried not to let the expression show on her face. Praise in any capacity was always welcome. After hearing that she could assist with the microcircuitry, Peridot nodded and finally moved, walking over to a pile of discarded objects. The pile was probably in the middle of being sorted or moved but contained a mixture of trinkets, a few of which Peridot found to be of interest. She had collected a few pieces that looked like they once made a full data pad before the unit was busted apart. She laid the pieces on a large box to use as her workbench and summoned a tiny weapon from her gem. This tool first took the shape of a dagger but soon changed to a flat-head screwdriver with a fine tip and she proceeded to pry the pieces apart. The device reshaped a few times as she made small welds to the piece in front of her.
The task of disassembling the pieces before her to see which circuits were still useful wasn't mentally taxing for her and she wondered for a moment about the other gem in the room. "Padparadscha, do other gems call you Para?" she asked, wondering if this gem was the same as the one Lapis and Ruby had told her about.

Before long the main chassis was finished, immediately afterwards Para began on the larger machinery that would work with the circuitry being made by Peridot. It was odd to her to see the almost reverence Peridot seemed to hold towards her, it wasn't the sort of reaction she received since leaving Homeworld's service. Before it might of felt appealing being seen to highly of because of her gem type, but now it was actually sort of off-putting. She had learned that one should be judged on what their actions are not what they are, being seen as a superior purely for her cut of gem was an almost alien thought at this point.
Still, that aside she worked without error and it would not be long until the machine would be finished. Peridot's question was an odd one, it suggested that perhaps she had met with another gem that knew her. She would have to be careful, "Hmm, it is a somewhat common nickname among Padparschas. Why do you ask?"
This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.

Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
