The sapphire opened her mouth to answer, though just before she did, the emptiness that had them trapped was replaced by a tangible reality. She stood with her eyes flickering across the new surroundings, her body tensed from the sudden transition. After a moment, her shoulder's dropped and she gave a heavy sigh of relief, though she soon realized she wouldn't have much time to relax. They were still inside of the facility, where any manner of deception could be waiting for them to be ensnared by. Her eyes slid over to the proctor, then the corners of her lips drooped. It would be difficult for these gems to become re-accustomed to life on the surface, if they ever could recover.
"They'll be fine," The sapphire said after a moment of quiet hung over the air,"Once we get back to Headquarters," Her eyes shot over to Hematite. If the fusion was going to challenge her on this prospect, she wondered what alternative might be offered up. Whatever it would be, Padpara was certain that Hematite didn't have a team of gem scientists or medics on hand to examine and give a prognosis on the condition of these gems.
She took a moment to again consider what the proctor had said just before they had materialized into this new space. The sapphire had considered calling on the services of her retinue before she began this pursuit, but many of them were spread out across the world doing their other duties. She didn't want to tear them away from their work, for something that was ultimately for the advancement of her own goals. The only gem who was in her exclusive employment was her frail, clumsy (but eternally sweet) pearl. Perhaps she would finally have to give in to the pressure that was put on her to expand her retinue, but for now there wasn't anything she could do about the fact that she had chosen, stubbornly, to face this three-gem permafusion on her own.
"I'm going to do a perimeter sweep," She announced, eyeing the other gems as her voice bounced around the semi-lunar room. It was likely that the proctor knew her way around this place, but while she was in shock, the sapphire decided she could make herself of some use. Considering that she was a new model of Padparadscha, she wondered if this peridot would even recognize her as such. She waited a moment, mostly to give the proctor a moment to process that, and to see if she had any useful information to reveal before Padpara went traipsing around this unfamiliar terrain.
