Hematite shifted her eyes to the sapphire with a distasteful glare. “I have no intent on meeting that gem again. She was bitter and incapable of accepting anything less than perfect. Yellow Diamond tasked her with my creation, to make a deadly task force that could be sent when other gems couldn't and handle the issue without problem. But, there was a problem and upon failing those expectations, she thought it best to dispose of us, or recycle us.” Hematite looked back at both of the gems with a declarative look to her eyes. “This is why I refuse to return, and will never do so.” The peridot looked back to Padpara almost expecting the two to start fighting again. She realized that this may have been an issue beyond her court, this dealt with workings of Yellow Diamond. She wondered if she had any say in this, if even their diamond had anything to stand on in this affair.
She piped up hopefully to evade an argument, “Interesting,” she cooed, “So you were supposed to be a special group of combat gems commissioned by Yellow Diamond herself? That would have been such an honorable position. I can understand why your creator seemed … intent on designing a gem that met those standards.” though she didn't admit it aloud, the peridot found this perfectionist slightly out of line considering she was ready to destroy perfectly good gems for no other reason than their ability to meet their purpose.
Hematite remained quiet after this. She was being brought back to cumulative memories of the gems inside her. Many of which weren't the brightest when she looked deeper back.
