The sky temple was one of Spinel's favorite places to go when he needed to think. It wasn't uncommon for him to simply stay here, or at the sea spire, for weeks on end just thinking on his situation. He was the last of the corrupts, and he had nothing to show for that title. All his peers are gone or dead, most having disappeared into the wind like dust. He had been at the temple for months, simply thinking about his little group of monsters, the only group of people he could even begin to consider close enough to friends. He was now truly alone in this world.
Not that being alone was an issue for Spinel, he actually preferred to spend his time in his own company. The only problem with it was that he tended to get lost in the past, and would sometimes keep thinking until something interrupted him. He sat himself on a ledge overlooking the mountains surrounding the temple over a month ago, losing himself in his thoughts, almost as if he was waiting for something.
Having finally arrived on earth with a small ship and winking his friends goodbye, Radiant set foot into the temple. He was never interested in architecture, but maybe there would be something worthwhile in here, maybe even something to heavily study. He could never get onto earth, this was his first time that he was standing on this planet, but this did not impress him, he didn't even have respect for the earth, but more for the dominant species living there. All his test subjects were of this species, this species being know as humans. They came from earth, but there is a difference between a being living in a conditioned environment and one living in a natural one. He heard and read a lot about their culture and ideas, but still wondered how they behaved under normal conditions. He wandered on when he suddendly saw a gem with aubergine hair, being in the style of an undercut and wearing an extremely old homeworld uniform, sitting on a ledge. Being the gem that he was, he stood at a distance, waiting for the other gem to make a move.
As he sat overlooking the mountains, Spinel heard the sounds of footsteps echoing behind him. It wasn't abrupt, but it was enough to grab his attention. He sat up straight and turned to see who had come to join him, almost expecting one of his old friends to show up due to how long he had been stuck in the past. Instead he was greeted by the sight of a gem he hadn't seen before. He laughed quietly to himself at the reminder that there are always new gems coming to Beach City, for whatever reason. Spinel waved to the white gem, and stood to greet him.
"Hello," He began with a light smile, "My name is Spinel." Spinel walked away from the ledge, moving somewhere a bit safer just as a precaution. Although he always tried to be polite, Spinel could never shake his feelings of caution when meeting new gems. "And you are?" He asked, his faint but visible smile still on his face. As he asked, he began to look into the gem's eyes, using his abilities to learn everything he could about this gem.
Looking Spinel into his eyes, Radiant could decipher that he had something to hide from him, this however, did not bother him, as he would sooner or later find out what it is. Speaking in a monotone and emotionless voice, but still having a extremely small smile on his face, he replied:"My name is white beryl, but I prefer Radiant."
Looking into Radiant's eyes, Spinel was able to sift through his mind to see what kind of person he was and explore his past. This white beryl was an interesting gem, and his experiments with the corruption deeply intrigued Spinel. His faint smile grew rather quickly, excited at what had just walked up to him. To call those experiments interesting would almost be a crime to Spinel, they were absolutely fascinating. Spinel was so intrigued that he almost forgot to hold himself back, coming very close to accidentally trying to start a conversation on it.
"My name is white beryl, but I prefer Radiant." Spinel's smile settled down as he was brought back down to earth by the gem's voice. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Radiant. Are you new to Earth?" He asked, already knowing the answer. "I've never seen you here before."
This spinel seemed rather open, walking up so close to Radiant, but it seemed that his voice broke him out of his awe. What was so unique about Radiant that it produced such an amount of curiosity from this stranger? It probably was his clothes and general appearance, but never the less, he replied, with a more positive tone now:"Yes, I am new on this planet, so new infact that I just recently came down here. I see that you are from homeworld,"or at least was. The old look of the uniform suggested to Radiant that this could be a crystal gem, but he was never one to make hasty judgments,"and even if you aren't, I am still pleased to make your aquantaince."
As Radiant confirmed what Spinel already knew, he began to make some of his own observations. "I see that you are from Homeworld, and even if you aren't, I am still pleased to make your aquantaince." "Ah, yes." The mention of Homeworld put a small smile on his face as he looked down at his uniform. "It's been some time since I've been back, I'm sure things are very different from when I was there." Spinel didn't like to dwell on the thought of Homeworld, but he let one thought slip before he dropped the subject. "Sometimes I wonder if there are still Spinels coming from the Kindergartens of Homeworld or if we are so antiquated we've become useless." As he said this, Spinel began to back away from the new gem he had just met.
Spinel's thoughts didn't linger on Homeworld; it was unimportant to him. He had chosen to leave it behind thousands of years ago and he sees no reason to go digging up what he had long forgotten. He now stood a few feet from Radiant and offered another small smile before moving on. "Tell me, Radiant, what brings you to Earth? I wouldn't think there's much of interest here."
Radiant's knowledge was mostly about human culture and general psychology, so he was a bit surprised when his newly found "partner" mentioned these spinel gems. He wanted to know more, but from spinel's facial expressions he knew that he should not delve deeper into the subject. Instead, he answered spinels question:"My interest lies not on earth, but rather the humans and their culture. Their knowledge, ideas and civilisations are unlike any other species. Also, I have one more goal, but it will require... candidates."While inspecting the different ent engravings of the tower, Radiant goes further upstairs, looking at spinel and suggesting:"I am new here, on this earth and in this place. Would you mind giving me a hand?"

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
