"Why would a ruby of quartz soldier shape-shift. They are there to fight, not change how they look. Similar with pearls. There is no need for them to shape-shift. Usually. But I like shape-shifting and nobody will stop me from doing that. I might not be a chameleon... well except when I want to." he turned into a chameleon just because he could. "It's fun... and crazy. I never been a chameleon before." he shot his long tongue just for fun, turning his eye each at different side. "Bhut Ih'm nhow!" he said with his tongue sticking out. He quickly shape-shifted back to his usual form. "Yeah, you are prepared, I don't doubt that. But since we have no idea what is making the ships to crush it must be difficult to prepare for it..."
The Smoky Quartz agreed "Tho' lets not forget, Rubies are not the brightest candles in the chandelier... sometimes a little shape shift to better fight would be more effective than fusing... and Pearls are servants, in theory, they would need to be ready to everything, if her mastress needs a new table, shapeshift in to one, untill the ordered one arrives. But yes, you are right kid"
"We are fighters..."
He smiled to the chameleon
"For us, shapeshifting is part of the traning, learning... for example the chameleon, as you noticed, can stick out his tounge, a surprising move in a fight, if you darts out your tounge to konck out your oppoentn... or the cone-eyes... moving independetly, and see the world in a 360° angle! No spurises for you! You could see everything..."
Then he nodded again
"The ship is equpied with several backup generators, different energy sources, so while not impossible to kock all of them out, it is higly unlikely, but even then, it is designed to soar... buil-in wings, it was our human's idea, like the solar sails, the wings unfold and the ship could land"

"In combat it's surely is quite handy." his eyes turned into chameleon's, it looked really weird but he had a larger field of vision. Not exactly 360° because his head was in the way. So he just pushed the eyes where his ears should've been. Looked even weirder but he had bigger FOV once again. "This is useful but feels wrong." he turned back. He could hold his form for hours or more if needed but it always felt weird. His body wanted to take his proper form. And if he would keep the form too long his body would return to it's proper form on it's own. Or he would poof. "It's good to know you could craft a ship that's quite safe."
"You have noticed, those eyes are the best at the side of your head..."
He smiled "Yes, Gems are hardwired to be in a humanoid form. Well most of them, I prefer other shapes and forms. But "naturally" the Gems hard-light body is humanoid. You have seen Gems to reform after poofing am I right? Forst a manequin-like hard-light shape, - like those little puppets the artist use to practice the drawing - apears, then it refined to a costumed form. Good question, why? I guess the Diamonds came to the conclusion, humanoid forms are the best for conquest or war... I don't know."
The Smoky Quartz admited
"Anyhow, If you needa tentacle or two to win a fight, don't hesitate!"
Post by Chip the Fire Opal on Feb 4, 2018 10:03:40 GMT
"I poofed a few times myself. So I know how that works and looks. It's a good time to make a few... adjustments to how you look. It's almost like a human game where you make your avatar. You just choose the shape of your ears and hair and clothes... and ten you just press the "accept" button and voila! A new shape!" he explained. He made some minor changes in his form few times. The only big one was when he was made whole and could better control his shape shifting. "Usually I just need fire to win a fight but if I need to shapeshift I would. I did actually. I needed to be bigger once so I turned into... a sort of dragon." he explained.
"Exactly. Our projected hard-light , solid hologram bodies are avatars"
Morion was a bit surpised Chip figured this out by his own, and accepted it as a fact After all, they had... arguments about this But it was nice finally they came eye to eye and agreed
"Human games always fascinated me! Traning programs for the youngs... strategy, simulators, wargames, city builders... all these thing are essential for a thriwing civilization, and like in the nature, the young ones learn the best by playing."
The Smoky Quartz nodded with a smile
"Fire is a handy weapon, but sometimes you need a bit more than sheer destructive power. A dragon you say? Impressive! I did that too... for some strange reason, no mater where you go in the univerese, everybody fears and respects the Dragons. It is a bit like sweedish meatballs"
Post by Chip the Fire Opal on Feb 4, 2018 10:29:54 GMT
"I never said they aren't. Just that they are parts of us, which they are." or was it about if they exist? It was an old argument one Chip didn't want to relive again. "We both know, that humans are quite inventive. I really think they would be a valuable resource for the Empire. But I seriously doubt that will happen." however "advance" Gem kind was, they surely could learn a thing or two from the humans. It would be dangerous, since the whole "freedom to choose" was in stark contrast with Empire customs, but still worth it in Chip's opinion. "I have my lance if I need something more refined than giant explosions. But It's surprising how many problems can be solved by giant explosion..." he said.
"It's an Earth food. They are called Swedish meatballs. It's a strange thing, but every sentient race has its own version of these Swedish meatballs. I suspect it's one of those great universal mysteries which will either never get explained or which will drive you mad if you ever learned the truth."
The Smoky Quartz gigled, but then listened to the kid and nodded
"Yes... Humanity have a great potential! And Yellow Diamond is making a mistake underestimating them. Luckly Blue Diamond is wiser... not a warmongering idiot, like her sister."
"Yeah... everything can be solved by an explosion"
The Omega Directive was always a solution for the problems Detonate the Sun ,wipe the Solar System clean

"Wow... I think thousands of Yellow Diamond's zealots just went angry for a reason they don't understand. If they would hear you they would tear you apart to finely powdered dust." Chip said. Calling a Diamond an idiot was probably punishable by death if not something worse. He had the feeling Morion wouldn't call her that in her face. But he would like to see it. Would be fun. "Let's hope Pink is more like Blue and less like the idiot." he hoped. After all this was Pink's planet, the whole Crystal system possibly belonged to her. Of course humans would probably disagree strongly. He always wondered how would gems fare when shot with a tank in their faces. Humans could be very warlike and they wouldn't go down easily... "Yeah, but I guess peace is just temporary on this planet..."
"I never said tho' Yellow Diamond is not Perfect. She is a perfect idiot and moron. Never liked her style, wasting good Gems in pointless invasions, while a precise strike, elimination of a leader is enough to win a war. But noooo... that is not enough for her! Let the skies burn with rightous vengeance of the Legion, let poor Gems die in wars... bah... perfect Idiot."
But still, perfect^^
"Blue Diamond is wise... Pink... never had any business with her, I must admit. White is cold and smart! But Blue is My Diamond. Like wise older sister or mother..."
The Smoky Quartz nodded
"Peace is a lie..."
"Conflict forces one to better oneself. It forces change, growth, adaption, evolution… or death. "Peace", the lack of conflict, is an agent of stagnation. Conflict, however, is the source of progress for both the single beings and the civilizations. The necessity of conflict is a law of the universe
Post by Chip the Fire Opal on Feb 4, 2018 14:40:19 GMT
"Well perhaps you take if from a bad end. I heard she hates wasting things. And it would be a waste not to use this nice armada - chaaarge!" he offered his opinion. "I seriously doubt the Diamonds are perfect... in any way. It's a transparent lie that is force fed to the gems to revere them. I am not stupid enough to believe that for a moment. Though I guess they are stronger and wiser then most others." there had to be some true in that since they managed to rule the empire for millennia. "I like peace... but even human history is full of wars. So I doubt it will last. Still... not complaining that it is still kind of holding..."
"Humanity was forged in thousand of thousand years of war and conflict, usually against each other. They are expert in the art of war and such things. I have faith in them, I mean the ones we saved and relocated... the ones on the planet? I have no doubt they will be eventually a headache for the Diamonds!"
It wasn't a question But as Chips said, everything could be solved with fire greath enough and explosions..."
"I had a talk with our favorite Artisan, Light's owner. It was clear, the Rebellion is over... she is still "fighting" but I think it is just an act, to calm Light, she just pretending to be a "rebel". Heck, even Light is not a rebel! Well he did rebelled against the Crytsal Gems in live TV and joined me... but then fled back to his owner; cat blaime him, after all, he is just a Pearl. Is there any Rebels left? Or just their myth whats floating around?"
Post by Chip the Fire Opal on Feb 4, 2018 15:53:30 GMT
"Even gem warship can't be happy about getting hit with a nuke, right? And people have quite a few of those. I think that if the gems will invade they are up for some surprises. Humans are primitive yes, but not defenceless by any means." and from what Chip saw so far gems didn't have any "tanks". Humans had all sorts of vehicles to their dispose. "I wouldn't worry about the rebellion. They will be back in force as soon as first Empire ship touch the ground, trust me about this." he was pretty sure about this. Rebels were hiding as to not provoke Homeworld into attacking. If they will attack rebels will appear once again. "I mean... who is there to rebel against? There is barely any loyalist presence on this planet right now... no unified force of loyalist is active so no active force of rebels is active too..." he explained.
"Well, we do have shiled but... yes. Nukes are bad. But you need to deliver the "gift" to a Handship, and as I said, ships, weapons... a bit harder than it seems! And a Handship could fire from orbit, while humans have hard time to leave the warm embrace of their planet; gravity is clingy thing!"
The Smoky Quartz smiled
"But I would be surprised ... there is always a way. As for the Rebellion a bit worried... but not too much"
He admited The Crytsal Gems were a joke, the whoel Rebellion just a footnote in the history
"Well, there is a Diamond on the Moon. And Her vanguard fleet... a pretty unifiying force if you asks me!
Post by Chip the Fire Opal on Feb 4, 2018 17:17:26 GMT
"Yes there is a Diamond on the Moon and SOME of her fleet too. And yet nobody from it appeared on Earth. She is still acting through gems that were on Earth before she arrived to Moon. Nothing changed so far. If rebels would start to be active now, they would just show where they are and Homeworld could blast them from the orbit." it was pretty obvious. Chip at least was like this. His new cabin was hidden in the forest and he was very careful when he was going home. "I think this planet has few surprises for my Diamond. If she ever land on this planet herself she might regret it." it was strange that even though he felt loyal to Pink Diamond, he felt loyal to his planet more...

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
