Name: Cream Pearl
Appeared Gender: Female
Appeared Age: 17
Actual Age: 30
Gemstone: Pearl
Gemstone Location: Chest
Faction: Homeworld [Yellow Diamond]
Corrupted: N
Appearance:
Personality: Since her assigning, Cream Pearl has developed a close (and admittedly mostly one-sided) bond with her mistress. She is willing to take potentially deadly attacks for her if need be, even when it may result in her own shattering. This near reckless disregard for her own life combined with her temper in battle often left many of the Gems who met her wondering if she was secretly a hybrid between a Quartz and a Pearl. Even though she wasn’t, the rumors persisted, not helped by her almost comedically long hair. However, outside of combat is a different story, with Cream displaying the usual obedience of a Pearl with the mere addition of stating her own opinion on subjects.
While she does dislike the planet Earth, she does not display excessive cruelty to it or its inhabitants either, merely seeing its usage and ‘death’ as one of many necessary for the survival of the Gem species. She sees the Crystal Gems’ insistence on protecting some random organic race to be bizarre and a bit idiotic, but displays no outright hatred towards them.
Likes: Her mistress, Singing, Fighting, Homeworld
Dislikes: Fusion, Corrupted Gems, the Crystal Gems, the planet Earth
Fears: Failing her mistress and Yellow Diamond, Being corrupted, Not being useful to anyone
Weapon: A simple cream-colored rapier, befitting her status as property of a high-class Gem. It can fire small crescent-shaped arcs of electricity when it is swung while a button on the hilt is pressed down, but these arcs are only capable of deterring (not destabilizing) a Gem and can only travel a short distance before dissipating.
Ability 1: Dash Step. Cream Pearl can dash in a sudden burst of speed to a spot 5-10 feet away from her. This can only be used once per post (with a five post cooldown). In addition, she cannot use it to run up cliffs or walls.
Ability 2: Holograms. Cream Pearl, much like many other Pearls, can utilize holograms for various non-combat functions in addition to summoning a holographic copy of herself (she cannot do both at once and must pick one at a time). While she is only able to summon one Holo-Pearl, Cream makes up for this lack in numbers and the hologram’s finite durability by using it as a secondary sparring partner should her Agate be busy or otherwise absent. As such, it is capable of attacking/defending up to two targets specified by voice command (unless told by Cream to do otherwise) as well as providing a limited analysis of a singular chosen target.
History: The gem known as Cream Pearl was one of the newer Pearls to be created, currently being only three Earth decades old. She was ordered by an Agate, a decorated veteran of the numerous conquests of other planets who oversaw every inch of her design personally. Together, they undertook many missions given to them by those from the upper echelons of Gem society and were quite the successful pair. And yet eventually, for some reason, Cream Pearl approached her mistress with a humble request: that she be trained in the art of combat in order to fight by her side. The Agate laughed at this suggestion at first. A Pearl, learning how to fight? And yet the more she thought about it, the more it made sense. If they were ever separated due to circumstances outside of their control and her Pearl were to be shattered, it would reflect very poorly on her. Plus, it would be useful to have an additional combat-ready ally in a fight that wasn’t a Ruby or a Quartz.
So began the training of Cream Pearl, a long and arduous process that ultimately payed off. Soon, she was able to at least go toe to toe with most of the lower class gems and come out on top. There were times when she became a little too prideful and needed to be verbally put in her place, but she overall did her best to please her beloved mistress.
Then came the fateful day they were separated, Cream Pearl left on Earth and the Agate on Homeworld. For three years, the lost servant has fended off corrupted gems while searching for a temporary place to hold out until Homeworld sends their evacuation teams. But her loyalty to her planet is being tested, and in the end it may not survive...
Character Arcs: Trying to escape Earth while becoming her own Gem, gradually accepting life on Earth and reluctantly joining the Crystal Gems
