Imperial Topaz grumbled slightly as she marched down one of the many bustling corridors in the moon base. She had just gotten an order for another shipment of gear from Pink herself, and was not looking forward to the long hours of crafting loveless pieces of work to sit around and rot while the rebels went unchecked. She paused, aware that perhaps she could contact a Bismuth or two to assist her in the task - and so ducked into a side room which she recognized as a relay station. Ignoring the filled terminals, she marched over to the only open one and scared the daylight out of the Peridot technician working it.
"M-My clarity!" She exclaimed, fumbling for a moment. "I am fully ready and capable of performing whatever task you require of me, your luminescence!"
"Cut the titles and contact some of my Bismuths down in service. I require two of them to help me in an assignment." Topaz stated, leaning back against one of the machines as the Peridot started to work.
Despite the fact that everything had thus far being going according to plan, the sapphire couldn't help but to feel ragged. She was stretched between the Lotus project, all of her investigations, judicial responsibilities, and courtly appearances. Being busy was a virtue in gemkind society, she'd always been proud of her work, but today-- especially as she watched her technical consultant fumble with her holotech apparatus-- she was worn thin. Her shoulders hiked higher with each passing moment she idly glared at the gem as they worked on the programming aspect.
"Hmm..." The olivine scratched their head as they mumbled to themselves,"Maybe...no-- Wait!-- er...no..."
Padparadscha had enough of trying to be patient. With a huff, she motioned for her Pink Pearl to follow her,"Pearl and I are going to contact the ground team at the relay station. Do have the completed tech delivered to my office, Olivine," Typically, sending the message over her private comm system would've been ideal, but after her recent data breach, she wouldn't trust it until Olivine could engineer a new, more well protected system.
Olivine grimaced at her tone, knowing their patron was not in a good mood, but gave a solid nod before the sapphire whirled around, her sparkling gown flowing after her as she strode out past the sliding doors, into the hall and made haste for the nearest relay station. The pearl kept a spry pace; despite the fact that her legs were longer than her patron's, it was sometimes difficult to keep up.
As she walked into the station, there were no open terminals, much to her chagrin,"Ugh! I suddenly recall why I use to hate these places," She lamented as her eyes darted around the room. It seemed she would have to continue to wait, but her patience had already been obliterated. The short gem marched straight up to one of the terminals, occupied by a tall gem she didn't immediately recognize, and the relay operator. To alert whoever these gems were of her presence, she cleared her throat.

Imperial Topaz had started to zone out during the process of relaying her message when someone cleared their throat from behind her. Turning around, she was met with the sight of a small, orangish-red Gem in an ornate dress - and if Topaz could tell anything by her posture, she was clearly impatient at the moment. "Ehm, Can I help you? I don't exactly recognize your Gem type so I've no idea what you need here."
Oddly enough, the new Gem reminded Topaz greatly of a Sapphire - but with her limited experience with them she didn't know any to be this shade. Idly, Topaz wondered what Diamond she served - and for what purpose. A tap on her shoulder drew Topaz's attention back to the Peridot, who was looking up at her with a nervous expression. "Many apologies, my cla- er, but we are experiencing delays due to the amount of traffic in the system so it make take a bit longer if that is alright with you, as I know you must be-"
Topaz cut her off with a hand wave. "No rush, I suppose."
Padparadshca's large eyes widened, and brows arched at the way she was addressed, the corner of her lip pulling in distaste. When the gem had turned to face her, she realized this was a higher strata gem. Though she'd grown use to gems in the Sol system lacking the refinement of Homeworld locals, and gems typically didn't recognize her, it was always amiable to address peerage with proper airs. Her lips fell open to respond-- before the peridot spoke up, and the disgruntled sapphire stewed silently.
Pink Pearl's eyes flicked away, embarrassed for the peridot who'd gotten herself caught up between two important gems. Though her expression was mostly neutral, the pearl was uneasy; she'd seen Padparadscha angry many times before. The sapphire wasn't quite at the height of her temper, but the servant knew these gems were just a few words short of invoking it.
"No rush?!" She scoffed, and glanced around, almost desperate to find an open terminal. However, the whole system seemed to have come to a bottleneck. Her eyes shot back over to the gems in the terminal nearest to her,"I've got a field team in need of further direction, time is of the essence. You'd be wise to treat this business with the utmost importance. I am certainly in a rush, peridot." One thin brow arched, she tore her eyes from the technician, and looked over the soldier-sized gem who had initially addressed her,"-- as for who I am," Her lithe arms articulated a precise diamond salute,"Padparadscha 10C8A 8QE, my Diamond's special task operative, field detective and interrogations specialist," After she was done with her preamble, she allowed her hands to fall, and clasp behind her back as she looked expectantly at this gem.

"Imperial Topaz, 3R9T 8XF - Forgemaster and former architect for Earth." Topaz replied, grumbling the last part. "Let me ask you, Padparascha - that is your name yes? - would you rather the job done correctly, or done quickly and have a malfunction?" she inquired, tilting her head. "Badgering the technician is more likely to end in them rushing to fulfill your request with speed rather than quality." Topaz's eyes briefly fell onto the Pearl behind the orange Gem, and her mouth slightly curved down in distaste for a moment before returning to a neutral expression. "It seems you have a Pearl." Topaz noted. "Is it incorrect to assume that you don't have other support staff? If your mission is of the upmost importance as you claim, surely using a personal transmitter or simply requesting one from another Gem of high standing would be more efficient."
Pink Pearl grimaced and twiddled her thumbs as the sapphire scoffed in shock, brows shooting up over her expression before they settled into a furrow. Now, after the Imperial Topaz's introduction, she knew for certain that this was a high caste gem, one that she hadn't seen before, but a noble nonetheless. The audacity of this gem to skip proper decency to challenge her had pushed a particular button, especially considering that she expected more propriety from aristocratic gems. As long as the gloves were off, she supposed she could be much more direct.
Instead of allowing herself to boil over with rage, Padparadscha gave a huff, closed her eyes for a second, and reminded herself of the task at hand. Her eyes fluttered back open, and she glared up at the much taller gem,"Well, Forgemaster, a gem so noble as yourself must as well," Her words were brisk, and tone lowered as she spoke,"But, we all have our reasons for our choices, no? I have mine. I wouldn't be here if I had another option, because as you have pointed out, this place is an inefficient mess. Requesting technology from my peerage would be no less of a bother, it would take ages to get through their beloved bureaucratic ostentation," Her eyes shot toward the peridot, then back toward the Forgemaster. Even if the matter hadn't been classified, the last thing she wanted to do was explain herself to a gem who seemed to be back-handing her with a lack of decorum, but her options were few. Olivine would take some time to fix her holotech system, and her team were losing precious time. She glanced over her shoulder,"Pearl, do see if any of these terminals are recovering more quickly,"
The servant lit up,"Of course, my sapphire!" She gave a short curtsy, and scurried away; she almost seemed to be escaping from the scene. Padparadscha's dour expression held as she stewed, mind frazzled from speeding from one thing to the next, only to be impeded in such a crucial moment.

"Noble? That's an interesting decriptor for me. I tend to not have support staff - as I find I am capable of performing most basic tasks on my own." Topaz arched a brow at Padparadscha. "I suppose it would be 'proper' for me to apologize for... insulting you is it?" Pushing this Gems buttons was perhaps not the cleverest of political moves, but Topaz could hardly be bothered to cater to a stuck-up and self righteous Gem without the decency to at least say "please".
"Ma'am, your transmission has sent. Holly Blue received the request and said she shall comply as soon as possible." The Peridot awkwardly called out, breaking part of the tension.
"Cool. Thanks Peridot. You should probably start prepping for the next one, some very important people are in line." Topaz replied, stepping past the two shorter Gems without another word.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.

*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
