Jazz nods again at the sapphire's instructions. "I think that would be useful if we are going to work to keep their tremor sense from triggering." Jazz whispers back to Padaradscha. "I will try to follow along as best I can for now."
Jazz follows the other two gems forward into the connecting chamber. The light from the sapphire's plasma is a useful guide. Considering the limits of this cave system, staying quiet may be the best policy for now. Hopefully the gems do not get into a shouting match as they did the last time they were here. Neither of them wanted to see more of those corruptions jumping them. It was barely escaped before, even with another warrior gem, it would be difficult.
The sapphire gave a nod, and as they followed 3JJ to through the corridor, began showing Jazz a small arsenal of communicative hand signals that she used in her own unit. Padparadscha had developed her own system in response to being given undercover work on the surface, and it was always good to keep ones true intentions hidden from the enemy. In this case, it might make the difference between victory and defeat by the hands of corruptions that could very well still be lurking in the darkness of this labyrinthine cave system.
By the time she had shown the signals that would be important for Jazz to know, the group had emerged into the mouth of another chamber. Much like the others they'd seen so far, it had many winding paths leading away from it, and any one of those paths could lead to the potentially lost technology the sapphire was bid to find.
Padpara signaled to the other gems, holding up her hand to tell them to scout this area for clues. She directed her plasma to the ceiling where it would shed the most light, and she began looking for any indication of what she was looking for. Her lips pursed as she went, so far things were looking fairly bleak for this investigation, but she hoped one of the others might stumble upon something before they would scout another corridor.

Jazz could see the use of the signals. She knew that silent communication would be the key to their success here. The other two gems would take the lead for now. She follows the scouting signals and looks around the chamber for signs of the technology.
She looks around for any signs of the technology. She is hopeful that she could be of use here. The technology is not something she is familiar with, so she figures she will be able to tell what the technology is when she sees it.
She thinks about the situation she is in now. Trapped underground with two Homeworld gems that she needs to trust in order to complete a mission. Well she hopes that this will work out with out a repeat of the conflict.
The gems moved quietly around the chamber, moving debris and keeping a sharp eye for anything of interest. In particular the sapphire looked for indication of newer tunnels as opposed to older ones-- that would give her a clue about where to head next, but anything could turn up here.
3JJ had cleared some rubble, carefully setting it aside so as not to cause too much ruckus and invite danger. The soldier gem halted, both corners of her lips drawing down sharply. She cleared her throat to get Padparadscha's attention, and waved her over. The sapphire's brow furrowed, she rose to her feet, bringing her field tools and the samples she had so far with her.
The sapphire's brows shot up, color washed from her face as she caught sight of what glimmered in the rubble. 3JJ and Padpara looked at each other with dour expressions. The smaller gem began signing, a string of hand gestures that together would composite an entire sentence, and the jasper showed her understanding with a nod. 3JJ began to carefully clear more debris, while Padparadscha leaned down, and with her field tool, plucked a gem-shard from the dirt.
Her first thought was that it might be one of the Kröhnkite workers, but when she held the shard to the light, it gleamed a brilliant yellow instead of a strong blue. She pressed her lips together, and bubbled the shard, then walked over to Jazz,"This is important," She whispered,"The zone is classified, no Homeworld gem aside from the investigations unit has been sent here since the installation was cancelled," She recalled that Jazz had, rather conveniently, been here when she was-- it dawned on her that she never realized the initial reasoning for Jazz being there, that the rebels could already be more involved than she would like,"I realize the rebels must have found out about this place. Did you tell them, or did they know about it already?" The truth was imperative for making her next decision.
Jazz looks at the other gems, gauging the reactions. They seemed shocked and now Padparadscha is coming over with a bubbled shard. Oh... Oh great... And now she is asking about what the rebels know? "I came here on my own. I am used to being on my own, so I was continuing to wander around the wilderness." Jazz whispers back to Padaradscha. "You and I just happened to cross paths when a storm was rolling in, remember?"
Jazz looks over the shard. The different possibilities began to run through her head. What could have been shattered... a Kröhnkite? Maybe. A different Homeworld gem? Also maybe. An unlucky Crystal Gem? Another random gem with no allegiance? Too many possibilities. She took a breath and calmed her thoughts.
She gave an incredulous arch of her brow, but nonetheless her sense for truth again told her that Jazz was being sincere. Whoever this shattered gem had been, it seemed she didn't have any leads. The sapphire gave a heavy sigh, and 3JJ stood, giving a shake of her head. The rest of the shards seemed to be missing, which struck Padparadscha as exceedingly strange.
The smaller gem paced around, tapping her chin as she thought, trying to put all of the pieces together. However, there simply wasn't enough evidence to yet make a sound determination, anything she could come up with now would amount to a wild assumption. There had to be more going on here than she had initially realized. While she did, 3JJ peeked down each tunnel, trying to determine for herself where next to go. Padpara slowed to a stop and glanced to Jazz,"If you truly have no idea, then I suppose we'll have to find out," The sapphire whispered, then she walked up to one of the tunnels,"This one is an older passage, meaning it's more likely to have the tech we're looking for," and possibly more clues about this unknown shattering.
3JJ stepped up to the tunnel, but turned to glower at Jazz. "Hmph," She shook her head, and stepped down the tunnel, motioning for the others to follow her lead. Padparadscha tapped all of her bubbles to get them to safety, then brought her blip of light with her as she followed the burly gem.

Jazz nods to what Padparadscha had suggested. The technology would likely be in the older parts of these tunnels. But the whole situation has her on edge. This seems like a trap that they are wandering into. Nevertheless, Jazz followed the two gems into the passage that was scouted by the other jasper.
She used the light from the plasma to look around for any signs of the technology once again. The shard of the gem has her worried about how far in the gems should go. If the gem was new, it meant that more gems had been lost in here, if it was old, then it could mean terrible things happened in there before. Hopefully they would not be claimed next.
Ahead the tunnel got more and more narrow, but it never became smaller than the Kröhnkites themselves, who had been rather large gems. The old, rippling granite around them sparkled in the plasma light, but the howling of wind through the ancient catacombs around them grew deeper as the group continued forward. The eerie sounds, and the feeling of entrapment closed in around Padparadscha, making her increasingly nervous with each step. However, 3JJ seemed not to be bothered by the shrinking passage, other than the hunch of her shoulders as she tried to avoid scraping her head on the ceiling of the tunnel.
Soon, the sounds of running water could be heard, along with the ever-louder rush of wind through the caverns. Padparadscha's brow furrowed, she realized there must be a larger chamber coming up, or around them somewhere, but the tunnels were disorienting. She wasn't sure what cardinal direction they were heading, how many bends they had been around, or whether they were closer or farther from the point they had started, but a trail of plasma would help them find their way back out.
3JJ came to a sudden halt and threw her arm up to indicate the others should stop as well. She peered over her shoulder, and pointed downward,"It's steep," She whispered for Jazz's sake, then made a signal to the sapphire. Padparadscha shook her head in response to what 3JJ had said through gestures, and stepped and peered around 3JJ's sturdy form to get a look down the drop. The smooth tunnel angled sharply downward, and the angle prevented the sapphire's light from effectively reaching to see where it ended. It would be a risk to continue, but they had to for the sake of the investigation.
Padparadscha would rather be safe than sorry-- 3JJ had suggested that she slide down on her own and check the place out, but that didn't sit well with the sapphire. Instead she leaned down and sent a cord of plasma down as far as she could reach, solidifying a handle for the others to use as they made their descent, closer and closer to the sound of rushing water.

Jazz followed the other two gems as best she could in the winding tunnels. She had to keep low to avoid hitting her head, but it was not too much bother. When the other jasper signaled a stop and explained that the way forward was steep, Jazz stopped so that they could take action to press forward or turn about. After seeing Padparadscha generate plasma downward she figured which direction they would be going.
Once the plasma had been solidified into a handle, Jazz moved closer. She gave a few signals as best she could. She believed that J33 should climb first, then Padparascha, then herself. That way the two flanks were covered and the sapphire would be protected in the middle. And the jasper could look up easily to see if Jazz was pulling anything funny. She also mimed that it was simply a suggestion.
3JJ and Padparadscha read Jazz's signals, then glanced toward each other. Neither particularly relished the idea of taking suggestions from a rebel, and the sapphire wondered how far she should go with this obligation she had toward the gem, but nonetheless she gave a nod. The idea was sound enough, though it was clear 3JJ wasn't liking it from her sour expression . The soldier just stared at Jazz for a moment, before her eyes flicked with some incredulity to the sapphire.
The bodyguard was caught between the anxiety inducing feeling of being in the lead, as well as attempting to trust a rebel to keep an eye on things from her own perspective. Padparadscha of course was keeping an eye out as well, but this was a high risk situation. 3JJ gave a huff of exasperation, and used the matter the sapphire had created to start her descent into the dark below. Padparadscha followed closely, but her own expression had darkened when she realized her bodyguard's patience was waning. She didn't want to have a repeat of the last time she'd been here; completely avoiding contact with the corrupted gems would be ideal, but if 3JJ became too embroiled in her emotions things might become unpleasant for this makeshift spelunking unit.
When the stone handle would run out, the sapphire would, with precision, move more plasma into creating a handle. However, as she worked, she noticed herself becoming more and more drained. It was difficult to recharge her ability from deep inside of a mountain, away from the sun, but she hoped she wouldn't need to use it for anything more intensive than construction.
Eventually, 3JJ slid to land on her feet on the ground below, sending an echo up the tunnel. Her orange eyes scanned the stalagmites of stone, moistened with dew and steam from the underground river just a few feet away from the opening. The falling water was quick, it rushed over a steep incline, down into a dark chamber below, and the ground beneath her heavy feet was too slippery for anyone's liking. Soon, she helped the sapphire down, and waited for Jazz.

Jazz watched the other gems make their way down to the next cavern. She is not going to push too far with the gems, but she is not going to take the situation lying down. She is here of her own volition and helping the Homeworld gems. Even if she did not have the deal with Padparadscha, Jazz did not feel that it was a necessity for her to be such a follower the entire time. She had been quite passive through this venture. A simple suggestion need not set this Jasper off. She shook her head, the focus need to be placed upon not running into the corruptions again.
Jazz finally reached the bottom of the slope and began to look around.
As Jazz took her sweep of the zone, Padparadscha and 3JJ were falling into line. The jasper bodyguard gave a quick glance over her shoulder to get tabs on the other group members, and Padparadscha pointed down-river. The water spouted from an old channel that looked natural, yet the gnarled igneous stone around it was different from other water-dug stone she had seen; the sapphire wasn't a geological expert, but from prior experience she knew the signs of volcanic activity, and realized that the group must've been nearing the point where the kröhnkite team had made their determination-- and possibly left their old tech behind.
However, as 3JJ began stepping down along the river, taking care to place her feet squarely on the slippery stone surface, Padparadscha's brows furrowed. How had the kröhnkites been exposed to the corruption virus in the first place? The thought struck her as both obvious and yet something she had previously overlooked. The evidence of shattering, the missing technology, the corruption of the old team, alongside the glaringly strange timing of it all, was highly suspicious to her. She hoped the extra pair of eyes Jazz offered her investigation would give the operatives an edge, and prevent the team from being ambushed.
The more frustrating part was that any speech in this cavern would certainly bounce from the sheer walls and echo throughout, catching the attention of anything that might be lurking inside. Already the footsteps of the gems tapped over the air, making both the jasper and the sapphire nervous, but they kept their eyes sharp.

Jazz searched the cavern, looking for signs of either the technology or signs of shattering gems. Both mysteries deserved her attention, but she was more likely to find signs of the technology.
The cavern was not exceptionally big but it was surprising how the details came together. The shifts in rock type, the scrapes and scratches in tunnels, the cut of the water through stone. It always fascinated her how Earth forms itself. She shook her head and focused on the task at hand again. She saw the igneous rock that the sapphire had caught herself. She signed to the other gems whether they should head down that path. Padparadscha looked as though she was already considering such a course of action.
While the other two gems were keeping their eyes moving, Padparadscha caught Jazz's suggestion once again. She raised a brow, and pressed her lips together. The sapphire's eyes glanced back to the gnarled rock that the water poured from, and she had to wonder why Jazz would want to fight the powerful stream of water in order to explore that particular corner of the cavern. Not only did she have to keep the safety of the group in mind, but she had to keep in mind that this rebel could have other motives. From what Jazz said earlier, it seemed the gem most certainly anticipated some kind of double-crossing, which made the sapphire even more suspicious.
She cleared her throat to get 3JJ's attention, and the gem halted to peer over her shoulder. She made some signals for 3JJ, whose brows floated higher on her face, and her eyes shot over to Jazz. With a look of incredulity, the jasper stepped back over the slippery stone, and leaned a bit to peer back at the source of the water. She looked back at the sapphire, and shook her head. Padparadscha then turned toward Jazz, and spoke so quietly her words could've been lost in the rush of water,"It's going to be dangerous down there, and it's likely that anything that was there got swept down river," But it was true that something valuable might still be there.
"and," 3JJ cut in, crossing her arms,"I'm not going to take point if we're going that direction," her brow quirked at Jazz; as far as she was concerned, it was the other gem's turn to take the lead, especially if she wanted the group to follow her down such a precarious path.

Jazz acknowledged the other two gems points. She was not certain that the technology was even in that direction. She simply believed that it was the one path to stick out.
"I did not mean to imply that was the only path. I meant to point out that it is the only tunnel to stand out. If you both believe that it is not worth the risk, then we should not proceed down the river." Jazz whispers back to Padaradscha. "Though I am fine with taking point down which path you two believe we should take."
She looked between both gems to gauge their reaction. She has been quite frank so far and simply wished to make sure that this place was not going to be their tomb.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
