Appearance: Olivine, standing at about six feet and despite being on the taller side for a Human, this gem soldier would be eclipsed by her larger Jasper allies, and only slightly outdone in height by the average Amethyst soldier. Olivine is a gem who is built for athleticism. From her lithe legs and arms, to her powerful thighs and hips- Olivine was made best for her role in the Gempire. This gem displays her obsidian black dreadlocks in proud form, often allowing them to droop just beneath her shoulders, or fly freely in the air of mountain-top ranges or cliffs. From head to toe, Olivine is toned to her namesake; a light green olive colour would be the first thing that most would notice upon looking at this gem save for her darker green uniform and Yellow Diamond insignia. Her eyes would be a darker green than the rest of her form, however. Sitting within her sockets calmly, often studying her surrounding environment.
Olivine stands fierce in battle, wielding two black tonfa-like blades hidden behind her arms for strikes as swift as a cobra bite. Her gritting teeth betrays her determination to survive the fight, and come out a victor. Out of battle, however. Olivine would wear a comforting smile to those she sees as friends, and a calm, concentrated stare for those she does not know.
Personality: To describe Olivine as a cautious, methodical, and conservative would be quite accurate. Olivine, being a scout was not one to rush into every situation blind or without assessing the obstacles beforehand, arguably this could apply to her in many aspects whether it be battle or socially. Easy to speak to, but hard to understand- Olivine is not a Gem of many words, rather one who prefers to perform her role endlessly and without question whilst not giving away too many of her thoughts. Her loyalty to Yellow Diamond is something to be admired, though when getting into personal details- one could sense an aura of uncertainty and pain. Due to this, Olivine is one to repress her feelings and never speak of them. Neither questioning the moral or practical consequences of her orders and rather doing them without thinking about it.
To her allies, Olivine is respectable and 'all business' so to speak. Her dutiful spirit would drive her to communicate with her allies but at the same time keeping her distance and not trying to get too personally attached. To her superiors, Olivine is quick to salute- one can almost feel the bursting pride that emanates from her very gemstone as she confidently looks upon her superior- knowing that her role was completed to perfection. Olivine very much emulated other successful Gems, and knows that through dedication, perfection, and hard work she too could be known across the Gempire as being one of the best.
When communications with Homeworld was severed, Olivine was met with a wave of anxiousness as she knew just how strong the Crystal Gems had become. Due to her not being in contact with Homeworld, she has become twitchy and even more reserved than before. Though the loss of contact with Homeworld has been something of a blessing to Olivine too, as she has had more time to think about her feelings, and her own desires- perhaps igniting a dim spark of rebellion within her.

Weapon: Duel-wielded black blades.
Form 1: Presented as two average looking medieval-style swords, which are wielded in both hands for quick strikes. The hilt of the blade is dark-green while the blade itself is black.
Form 2: Blades with a handle, to be held backwards as a pair of tonfas. This form is used for quick strikes designed to take the opponent off-guard.
Ability 1: Vision manipulation. This ability allows Olivine to see in the dark, or underwater. A vital ability for a gem that is designed to scout unexplored planets and terrain. This vision is however limited to those two situations, there is no 'heat vision' as gems do not emit heat.
Ability 2: Infographic mapping. After successfully surveying an area, Olivine is able to present to her commander or superior; a monochrome map of the area she explored. This map is a miniature variant of the terrain, and can display terrain and buildings (including interiors) both. For the map to be completed, Olivine would have to thoroughly scout the entire area. This ability can also be used on organics or even other Gems, displaying the weapons, physical appearance, and fighting style of the being in question.
History: Olivine was created on a Yellow Diamond colony that has since been rendered inhospitable and abandoned. Since emerging from her kindergarten, Olivine has been fulfilling the role of a scout and reconnaissance gem for many centuries. Indeed, Olivine is a gem who has been all over the Gempire. To colonies new and old, she has fought wars against many organic species and even accumulated a small amount of respect from her peers. Olivine has never actually met with Yellow Diamond, but idolised her for her intellect, foresight, and ability to command. Olivine's time on homeworld would mostly be spent socialising with soldier gems, and Olivine's like herself while also reclining, training, and doing whatever work was necessary in her room-home on homeworld before being called out for her duty. It was a simple life, a repetitive string of activities that Olivine had grown comfortable with. Her loyalty for Yellow Diamond in this time was absolute, and little would shake it for a time.
Olivine had scouted and explored an abundant amount of planets, scanning for minerals and useful materials for the Gempire while also reporting back any information regarding the offensive capabilities of any natives to the planet. This methodical scouting of planets became second-nature to her, most missions didn't stand out with the exception of one. One day, she was ordered to scout and relay information of a planet to a prominent Celestine. The planet was a prime location for colonisation, which was enough to keep Olivine busy... however- Olivine would find this mission to be quite distance, as her admiration of Celestine grew. She thought this to be nothing more than comradeship, but there was always a feeling that felt.. unnatural at the time. A feeling that was enough for Olivine's thoughts to be in conflict. Suddenly, her blind loyalty and admiration of the Diamonds was replaced with nothing but thoughts of Celestine. And to her great pleasure- this feeling was mutual.
Olivine had fallen in love with Celestine, a gem from the Blue Diamond court- something that was considered very taboo and forbidden. But these thoughts and feelings of Celestine was something Olivine could not shake, no matter how much she tried. Olivine and Celestine found themselves volunteering for missions, just for the opportunity to be alone and discuss these out-there feelings and thoughts. The more time was spent doing this, the more Olivine fell in love. She swore to always protect Celestine... and should she be left with no choice, to put her before even the Diamonds.
Earth. A colony that Olivine wouldn't know much about until she arrived there. Earth was supposed to be an ordinary colony, devoid of anything useful aside from it's natural minerals of which could be used to produce more gems. Though what Olivine was confronted with would be nothing short of incredible. Earth was filled with life, from grass-covered mountains, to forests that stood higher than cities, and grey cities occupied by Humans. Olivine knew that the Diamond's vision for this planet would be perfect as always, and strives to do all she could to achieve that vision. However, as the problems of Earth began to emerge- so too did Olivine's interest in Celestine. There was some truth to be had in the theory that Olivine and Celestine would purposefully drag out missions, just to be with each other a little longer before having to act as mere tools of the Diamonds. This forbidden love was becoming something of an annoyance to Olivine. She wanted nothing more than to openly talk, love, and be with Celestine.
When the warp-pads to homeworld were closed for good, Olivine was induced into a state of panic which was only improved with thanks to Celestine. Losing contact with command, and having to think on her feet was something of a nightmare for Olivine, who now was not sure of the state this colony had been left in. Did the Diamonds plan to come to Earth? And if so, would it be soon? With the Crystal Gem agitators running about and causing chaos, Olivine knew that the loss of the warp-pads was most likely their doing. Her main focus however, was not whittling away at the Crystal Gems, or even scouting Earth. No, it was Celestine's safety, and Olivine would risk being shattered just to achieve that goal. No matter what the cost, she could /not/ stand the idea of the rebels harming Celestine.
Character Arcs:
- Olivine conquers her fear, and decides to live for Celestine. (Fusion for the first time.)
- Olivine, in service to Yellow Diamond ,continues to scout, and every-so-often fight the Crystal Gems.
- Olivine's newfound desire for freedom forces her to confront the thought of possibly joining the Crystal Gems.
- Confronted with her corrupted allies- Olivine gets a first-hand experience of the devastation wrought by the Diamonds.
