Miscommunications (C:Rafa)

It was a surprise to see how ready Peridot was to go back to the moonbase now that the hub was finished, though perhaps the Peridot had realized her usefulness to the empire after all. Padparadscha, gave a solid nod, and Jasper hurried to shoulder up to the Peridot.

"3JJ will escort you to the holding chambers, and we will allow you to keep your physical form so long as you do not act out," Though, the sapphire didn't quite trust this situation. Not hours ago this same Peridot had tried to attack her and 3JJ, and threatened to destroy the Diamonds. Padparadscha didn't think that was possible, not for one defective Peridot, but this one gem could do a substantial amount of damage if she wasn't contained correctly. Parapdscha quickly used her ability to fashion handcuffs that would restrain the gem's use of her hands, but as she did, a corruption suddenly leaped from the hills.

Both Homeworld gems scrambled to go into action, but before they could do anything at all, the corruption was already gone. Padparadscha approached the lone gemstone of the creature, bubbled it, and sent it off to the holding cells of her ship. When she was done with that portion, she gave a tentative nod to Peridot, and the Jasper gestured up the ramp of the ship,"After you," The soldier grunted in her grizzled voice. The sapphire followed closely after them, planning to put the restrains on Peridot before she would be put into a containment field at the back of the ship.

Peridot really thought in telling her about how useless would be destroying her Physical Form, as she hardens her own body being a Peridot and usually she reforms almost in seconds if Peridot are in full control. So she just giggled a bit, then made an serious mood. "Sorry My Clarity..." Saying only that wouldn't be enough, she would suspect the laugh, so she instantly thought in the a reason. "I'm still defective, and living here on Earth isn't helping at all" PR was disgusted by her own lies, by Peridot's lies. She couldn't stop that, she couldn't help anyone.

"Why thank you, whats the name again... 3JJ. I'll try to do my best" She just didn't specified in what. After entering in the ship, she recovered some memories, almost making PR coming back, but she refused to let it happen. Her Gem was hurting so much because of that personality collision. "Ugh... No, Why... Corruption, this ship... Guys, are you ok?" The colors were fading from the Peridot's sight, blinking from time to time. "I can't... Anymore... Little...!" When she was about to call PR brat again, she remembered to be careful on what she says.

Her head tilted to the side as Peridot spoke, she listened carefully, and as the green gem addressed 3JJ, the soldier's upper lip twitched,"Hmph," She grunted in response, the words offered by the gem were a bit of a headscratcher. Though, soon it seemed the gem was going through another episode; Padparadscha had dealt with numerous defective gems who seemed to have something going on that her truth sense couldn't reveal. At times like these she felt a bit of envy for the sapphires of Blue Court who could see into the future, but nonetheless she had a job to do.

Thinking back on her experience, her lips pressed, and she thought of something to say. She modulated her voice, sounding pleasantly calm despite the tension in the air,"Peridot, or...PR, you're safe under my jurisdiction. The corruption that we have just captured is contained, it wont be able to escape the bubble and containment field of my ship..." Her eyes flicked around the landscape, then back to the peridot as 3JJ began to attempt to guide the gem to the back of the ship,"Your help during this mission was crucial and wont be forgotten in the trials to come. I have a direct line to Pink Diamond herself, she is generous, and loves her Earth quite a lot. So long as you are compliant, you may be reinstated at your post after conditioning,"

Peridot took a deep breath. "Please, if may i ask you my Clarity... Don't address me as PR anymore..." She was dying inside, but had to maintain her temper. When she passed through the bridge, she saw a mirage of the Ogle-TR-56b planet glitching on her head. This time, Peridot lost full control as PR took over again. She started to hit the window desperately while crying. "No, i can't go back! Sorry my Diamond but i couldn't do it! Forgive me! Forgive me!"

PR lost full control of herself without caring if anyone was looking, hearing or even judging what would do with her after that. She just needed to let it all out. "I can't g-go there a-anymore..."

Padparadscha was about to respond to Peridot's request, her mouth opening just slightly before the green gem bolted off into the bridge. The sapphire went wide-eyed; Peridot's erratic behavior could damage components, and it had already startled Pink Pearl, sitting just a few feet away from the lamenting technician. Padpara wasn't an expert on the emotions of gems, but it seemed to her that some event had occurred that had left the green gem in a state of disarray. If this had been her first mission on Earth, she might have done everything within her power to capture and destroy such a gem; memories of the dissident Howlite she had put on trial long ago passed over her mind. Though, she now knew that many gems had strange, emotional aliments that had been caused by prior experiences, including one of the most respectable quartz veterans she knew. However, before the sapphire took action, her servants did.

Pink Pearl shot out of her seat, her initial shock occluded by the lowering of her brows over her wide, angered eyes,"Stop!" She raised her voice, which was in and of itself a shock to Padparadscha, who had never heard Pink Pearl speak in any manner but soft and delicately.

Jasper practically leaped after Peridot, and reached out in attempt to grapple the gem in order to restrain the prisoner.

When PR heard the Pearl, she started shivering while knelling down before her. "S-Sor-" She sobbed while doing the Diamond Salute for her. "Sorry Pearl! I will follow the orders, i swear!" When she thought that she could talk her way out of this hallucination, she was startled by the Jasper and fell on the ground, still looking up as her tears came down. "A-Alright, i'll go, i'll go!! Please don't shatter me!" Trembling out of fear she was paralyzed.

PR thought in making the salute again, but any sudden moves could cause her own shattering according to PR's mind in the moment. She looked at the mirage again, but tried not to panic even more, after all she was already in thin ice.

The peridot proved to be a slippery gem, ducking out of Jasper's reach before she could grasp the smaller technician, and Pink Pearl's eyes softened once she realized what was going on; nonetheless she was miffed that her beautiful control console had been beaten upon by a gem who should have known all of the delicate work that went into maintaining machinery of this caliber.

Padparadscha, less technically minded than her own Pearl, and less concerned with restraining prisoners as she had once been, observed the situation for a moment, before she cleared her throat,"Ahem," and tapped her foot, indicating with a gesture for Jasper to stand down. The quartz soldier was constantly baffled by Padparadscha's methods, but listened and stepped away. The sapphire was more concerned with finding out the truth behind this debacle than she was about containing a dissident. After all, even if the gem did escape and join the rebels, Homeworld's inevitable victory would mean their eventual capture no matter what occurred today.

"No gem has ever been, nor ever will be, shattered in my space cruiser," The sapphire spoke up in a calm, modulated voice despite the thick tension in the air. While she did, Pink Pearl made sure to shut the hatch, the hydraulic pumps steaming off like a long sigh in the background,"I wish to hear about this, what it is you're experiencing right now, start at the beginning as you would any report," She said, though she shifted slightly,"Of course, no need to speak of anything that you do not wish to speak of. Your report will be carefully considered as we process your case," The sapphire was attempting to go off of past experience models; she remembered how some gems needed to speak of their experience and be heard by others, so she would allow Peridot-- or PR-- or whoever this gem really was, to speak her peace.

She tried to calm down, but couldn't stand up at the moment. "My... Report..." PR didn't want to talk about the past, but if this could end this suffering, she could suffer a little more. Therefore, trembling she stood up slowly and made the Diamond Salute to who was in charge. PR took a deep breath. "Peridot - Facet-2J8O Cut-9OJ, I worked for... White Diamond, but she made me go to into a impossible mission... Ogle planet had no way to build an Kindergarten, but i was designed for this anyway at first..." She knelled again as started to cry. "An horrible mistake, i made an horrible mistake i'll never forget, i made an defective Gem... a defective life... that followed me when i ran away because i knew it didn't worked"

PR cleared her tears and looked through the pinkish orange Gem, wondering how did a Homeworld Gem had such patience with someone like her. But anyways she wasn't going to run away anymore, she could be afraid, but she would accept her fate even if she struggles. "I was afraid of my Diamond shatter me when it didn't work, very afraid... Now, i won't run away anymore, a burning desire inside me of keep moving on don't let it happens anymore... My clarity"

Before Peridot began to speak of her experience, Jasper stepped back to stand on the wall, and crossed her arms, but kept her tiger-like eyes trained on the unpredictable gem in their possession. Pink Pearl likewise kept tabs on the gem, though her soft pink eyes were more inquisitive than the quartz'. Padparadscha stayed standing in the spot she was already in, careful not to make any sudden movements, but also ready to retaliate if this gem were to make some last ditch effort to escape.

The sapphire listened carefully as the peridot began, and her thin brows rose as White Diamond's name was mentioned. She rarely heard about White Diamond, and despite her prestige within the Pink Court, had never seen the matriarch of Homeworld for her own eyes. It was known that the Gemkind ruler had high standards, and Padparadscha's chin lowered, her large eyes wide and perceptive as she took in everything that this Peridot was saying.

As Peridot finished speaking, the sapphire lifted her chin again, and motioned for the gem to sit on one of the upholstered seats. Padparadscha had made the mistake of believing rebels before, when they told her that they wouldn't run-- as difficult as it was to dupe her truth senses, it could still be done. However, she believed Peridot's story.

"If you truly wish to be granted a second chance, 9OJ, then I will facilitate that by advocating for you. After all, you did fine work in reestablishing communications; this star system can finally reconnect with our Homeworld thanks to your work. Many gems I've advocated for went on to lead purposeful lives in service of their Diamonds once again. However, ultimately it is Pink Diamond who shall make the call," The sapphire's feet tapped against the tile floor of the bridge, and she lowered herself into the chair at the center of the room.

PR looked at the Sapphire, heard her, but didn't know if she would be safe in a Diamond's hand. Everything that she wanted to do is please everyone, make both sides happy, both Rebels and Homeworld Gems. But she was failing in that, she needed a way to show the same amount of empathy she has to her until it works and PR don't need to work for a Diamond anymore, still without stop helping the others.

After some time, she was wondering why Peridot didn't take control at this point, afterall everything that was happening was against at what Peridot wanted. Maybe some hidden plan, or maybe she just gave up, because she doesn't had the same patience and determination that her other side PR had.

When PR heard "9OJ", she felt worse than when called her Peridot, because worse than a tool, she was feeling like a disposable pawn. "Eh, excuse me my Clarity, but can you tell me your name if you have one? Because i have a name and i would appreciate if you called me by PR" She just needed to say that but actually on the Sapphire's mind, it maybe have sounded foolish. Though PR didn't have thought it through.

"Well, i hope for mercy by Pink Diamond..."

The aristocrat's brow twitched,"Just moments ago you asked me not to call you that," She said dryly, then pressed her lips and gave a more modulated continuation,"A Diamond-given designation is a fine name, no? But I'm use to the nick-names Earth gems seem to enjoy so much, so I shall call you PR if that's what you wish," She paused again, tapping her finger against the arm of her pink, jewel-like chair. It was true that she was not the typical padparadscha model, but it irked her that this Peridot was so adamant in knowing her specific designation. For what reason did this gem need to know such a thing? Padparadscha cleared her throat, and began to speak again,"I prefer that my retinue refer to me with honorifics. I am Padparadscha 10C8A 8QE, Pink Diamond's personal investigation's officer and judicial affiliate. I am one of few aristocratic field officers, but I still expect the same respect," Her brow arched as she gave a keen look to the Peridot. Many gems treated Padpara with lower respect due to her station as a field officer, and due to her off-color status.

"You may notice that I am unlike other padparadscha gems in appearance and mannerism...this is no matter, because I continually prove my worth to my magnanimous Pink Diamond," She declared,"Pink Diamond is merciful, but also shrewd-- so long as you can do as I do, prove yourself, provide for your kindred gems and to the colony, you will be spared from the worst of punishments. Still, rebelling from Homeworld is a crime, you'll have to face the consequences of your actions no matter the outcome," Padparadscha gave a bright-eyed look to PR, though was otherwise stoic. She waved her hand, and her pearl began tapping coordinates into the center console. Jasper ground her teeth together and glowered at the opposing wall.

While hearing Padparadscha, PR felt something weird. The lack of emotion or at least the show of them was scaring her. "... My Clarity, a-are you okay? I'm worried about you now, no disrespect at all but... You seem so hesitant, i know you don't trust me, but if you don't give me a chance..." Then she remembered that Peridot does almost the same to everyone, therefore she starts to feel even worse for what she had done to other people. Still she didn't know why Peridot didn't give anymore chances.

PR couldn't wait any longer, maybe if Pink Diamond was merciful, she could trust her to listen and make Padparadscha understand, so they could be pals, so that there would be transparency when she talked with her.

After a while, PR was feeling a pain on the chest. When she realized, it was Peridot controlling her Shoulder Spikes to try do something, she didn't know what but didn't want to know either. After she realized that the Spikes were moving by themselves, she yelled and threw all her Limb Enhancers and Shoulder Spikes on the floor. "Did you see that!? Please forgive me, but my Spikes were moving, i was felling a pain on my Gem, i-i-i swear i did mean no harm!"

She tried to calm down and got near Padparadscha. "You gotta believe me my Clarity, i want be not only your friend, but of everyone here, i failed until now, is there any chance i can make up?" PR whispered softly.

Jasper, ever vigilant, sprung off of the wall, baton materializing in her hands with a flash of orange light,"Your clarity, look out!" She barked across the bridge. The Jasper's robust voice caused Padparadscha and Pink Pearl both to flinch and glance toward the odd gem of the four of them-- the Peridot. The sapphire spent seconds in bewilderment before the green gem continued to speak, and she realized what was going on. 3JJ rushed up behind the technician, ready to grab her, while the sapphire's thin brows curled down severely.

"PR-- I have given you the chance of a lifetime. You will be advocated for, but not if you keep exhibiting malignant behavior!" The sapphire snapped, and stood up out of her chair, giving a sharp look to the gem,"I've already heard you say things that were extremely heinous-- shattering gems? Diamonds, I am taking such a risk in advocating for you because I have seen that you are still true to your purpose. I thought I might be able to allow you the freedom of the bridge until we reached base, but perhaps you should be contained after all. If you're sorry about this, then it wont happen again, yes?" At this point the sapphire was musing more to 3JJ than to the Peridot. Too many times this gem had made herself completely untrustworthy.

3JJ reached out in an attempt to bind PRs hands together. The jasper was much too nervous about this off-kilter peridot to let her roam free.

When Jasper bound her hands, she didn't resist, it could be worst. "Yes... I'm unstable... Thanks Jasper, contain me please, will you?" PR got crestfallen and tears started to fall from her face. "Anytime Peridot can return, i don't want to hurt anyone" She still crying smiled and looked at Padparadscha. "I can do this..." PR stood still waiting for their command.

After some minutes her tears went dry on her face and on the floor. She expected to meet Pink Diamond as fast as possible, but this was taking so long. She still standing on her place decided to ask to Padparadscha about all this. "Excuse me my clarity, but are we near to Pink Diamond? I'm very excited"

Padparadscha let her eyes narrow, and closely analyzed Peridot's mannerism. This gem was confusing, but at this point the aristocrat knew that there was definitely something strange going on here; a dual personality if she had ever seen one. The investigator had once worked on a case with a gem who had talked to himself as if to others, and who had a long, heinous track record of criminality. That trial had happened so long ago, but the sapphire would never forget-- she had sent that gem to trial, and back to Homeworld, where he likely met a grizzly fate.

Ever since, she had sworn to do everything she could to keep her personal sensibilities at bay when judging gems that had, in some manner, been broken. Though that gem had been an extreme case, she had met many gems who seemed to malfunction occasionally due to something that was out of place, usually something that couldn't be changed, but rather coped with.

PR and Peridot almost seemed to be some manner of unstable fusion, and the fact that Padparadscha detected whole truths or whole lies depending on the voice taken on by the gem, told her that these were in fact distinct personalities emerging through the single face of the peridot gem.

She shook her head,"I'm sorry PR, but you're just not ready to meet Pink Diamond, not after all the things that have happened today. You will be in trial eventually, certainly, but for now I will work on helping you to be...your best self, so that you can present Pink Diamond with all of the best reasons that you should be given clearance to return to your post," Padparadscha sat back down in her seat, and tapped her fingers together, and peered suspiciously toward the green gem,"We'll have to work on this complex you have, and get to the bottom of why it is that you-- I mean, Peridot...wants to do such awful things,"

The sapphire tapped her chin for a moment, glancing over the control panel as Pink Pearl waited for orders, and as Jasper too waited for direction,"Perhaps I shall give you an assignment, and if you complete it in a stellar fashion, I shall grant you access to the Trial chamber,"
