The sapphire stared intently at Melody as she spoke, and took note with a nod. She tapped her chin as she made some considerations while following the pearl to the other door, but her eyes were drawn back to the pearl as the gem admitted the vulnerability at play here. Padparadscha's manicured brows floated up lightly, and she peered toward the pearl for a moment before pressing her lips together. Pearls could be capable fighters, but in a best case scenario, she wouldn't have to be in the line of fire.
Padparadscha's arms clasped behind her back,"Very well, then you shall be in need of a personal security team," She thought on it for a moment longer,"Perhaps in the up coming summit, we shall petition Euclase and the Diamonds for a general increase in security, but I happen to have connections in the military," Connections that were now estranged, but there nonetheless, and she doubted the gem she had in mind would decline the chance to exert more martial control over the Sol system moon base,"Do you have preferences for the sort of security you'll receive?" She tilted her head with a light expression as she peered toward the pearl. Perhaps it was strange to ask a pearl for her preferences, but Padparadscha had worked with her own Pink Pearl long enough to know that there were some gems that pearls got along with better than others; team cohesion would be crucial in order for security to remain adequate.
"Huh?" Pearl turned to the Sapphire with disbelief. She bowed to her "I am honored my clarity, but I am just a mere Pearl... This station and patients should be our priority. I belong to this base, I have to put it above myself." It was still so odd. She used to serve a single gem and now she was suppose to be deticated to the whole base. She still had problems with finding herself in this position, but it was her new purpose... and it was an order from Pink Diamond herself. She missed those old times when her life wasn't so complicated.
"That would be wonderful." She spoke with calm voice and small smile on her face. Not only this gem was trying o help her and the base, but she also was in a good position. Her staus, connections, desire to help and ideas would potentially save a lot of of gems in here.
"My preferences...? You are too kind my Clarity." She continued after a second "I don't have much experience with military gems. But I am fond of Amethyst soldiers. They are sometimes too hyperactive, but they are kind gems. And maybe they will bring more life to this place, patients here need contact and I can't always afford it."
Padparadscha listened as she walked back over to the entrance that they had warped in through earlier, and tapped her chin. Amethysts, Jaspers, and Carnealians were the most plentiful of silica based soldiers in the Sol system. The sapphire herself could certainly appreciate the courage of Amethysts, though they were notoriously unfocused. However, if that was the type of soldier the pearl decided she would get along with most, then the sapphire would facilitate that.
"Ah, but if you are the moonbase's collective pearl, with access to the most sensitive areas of our establishment here, then protecting you is synonymous with protecting the base itself-- with protecting all of us," She smiled, then conjured her holotech from her wrist. With a few swipes of her delicate finger, she scheduled a few orders to send to her pearl back at the office,"You're right, they are sometimes a little rambunctious, difficult to control..." She paused for a moment, mulling it over, then gave a shrug,"--but nonetheless are good natured. For now, I'll schedule some appointments and get an Amethyst guard dedicated to your safety soon," After she finished writing gem symbols on her screen, she tapped her wrist again and allowed the holotech to disappear.
Then, she looked back up to the pearl, and again clasped her hands behind her back,"Now, pearl, is there anything else I should be aware of before I go to process this information?"
"Ohhh yes, that does make sense..." The whole reason Pearl ended up in here was because of the information she possesed from many court hearings. This way Pink Diamond was keeping Melody and the information safe without bubbling away anyone. However, Pearl never thought that this was making her special in any way, but this idea of being protected was making her feel... important and needed.
"Thank you." She was still astonished of this Sapphire's kindness, she didn't know how to express her gratitude.
She noded. Her small smile disappeared, replaced by a frown "There is... one more place." She slowly walked into the warping device with Sapphire. Just like before, white light covered their forms and took them away.
This time they ended up in a small isolated space from the rest of the room by a glass wall. The whole place was well lighten up. There were several bubbles with different colors and gems inside. A sight through the glass was revealing something different, something more dramatic... There was a giant, blue beast with no eyes, a pair of horns and sharp claws. Its white mane was nearly as long as the whole body. The creature was trapped in a container with walls made out of electric, yellow force field. Around it where some gems walking around with holo screens and different tools. They all seemed to be focused on the beast.
Pearl spoke out "We discovered it on Earth. I don't think it was ever officially named, but we usually call it "corruption"." She moved closer to the window "We have no idea how to find a cure... we are not sure what is wrong with those gems. Their gemstones are... they are healthy, but there is something different about them." She sighed "I am worried about keeping them here."
Curious to see what else could be hiding beneath the surface of the moonbase, Padparadscha followed the pearl with a cheerful expression on her face. However, as they reappeared into the next chamber, and the pearl lead her around to the contained beast-- instantly, the sapphire froze as if struck by medusa's gaze.
"Of course," She lamented in a low tone,"How could I have forgotten-- the corruptions-- there has to be...hundreds of them in storage...captured and contained after field missions only to be resigned to this place, containment and research..." There was a pallor that washed over the Padparadscha's usual peachy hue. The sapphire might have seemed to be muttering to herself, but her eyes flashed with a fiery glint as she looked at the pearl. Her lips fell open slightly, she stood as if unable to speak for a moment before words were finally uttered.
"I'm one of the field officers who has been...containing these things, these corruptions. If they were to be loosed onto the base...it would be utter chaos. Some of these creatures are so unhinged that they can destroy an entire team of gems-- Diamonds, they could destroy all of gemkind if no cure is found," She was one of the field officers who would always have to live with the horror struck into her by corruption and it's victims, and the memory of her comrades being taken down or infected themselves. There was a moment of pause as she tried to force herself to continue speaking. "Adversely, there are possibly thousands of these things crawling over the surface of Earth. There use to be a containment specialist I knew once, an Emerald," Padparadscha spoke quietly as she thought back to one of her first encounters with corruption on Earth,"She has disappeared without a trace,"
There was a deadened silence from the sapphire as her eyes glazed over for a moment. It was difficult to scrub the images of horror from her mind, but she did with a shake of her head, returning to the present,"The best we can do for these gems is to double our research effort. A cure must be found, it's imperative for our survival in the war, and as a species."
"If not more..." She added. Her knowledge about corruption was minimal. She never saw them roaming around free on Earth and she didn't like coming to this place. She felt like it was only the matter of time till somethig would happen. This room was safe... in theory, but Pearl feard gems she couldn't understand. And those beasts weren't even similar to defects she met in the past. Only a monster would turn a perfect gem into such an abomination.
She froze at the thought of Base being attacked by those things. She tried to comment this, but the fear... the fear of losing everything again, the fear of losing her Diamond, it was a pure madness. She couldn't imagine it ever happening. She covered her mouth, her eyes starring with fear at Padparadsha. She obviously knew what she was talking about.
She knew straight away how Sapphire felt after losing contact with this Emerald. She lost her first master after many years of cooperation. Reasons why she did it were questionable, but what Cream felt wasn't. Pearl could feel her one hand behind her back forming into a fist "Our Diamond will save us." She said, emotionless, like if she was trying to push her feelings away. "We have got to believe in her, she is our only hope."
Melody noded "We need to inform Euclause. I have no idea if we are even close to finding the source of this problem." Personally she blamed the rebels, but she had no idea what would be the point. Corruption was active only on Earth, the planet they were "protecting".
Padparadscha gave a stern nod to the pearl, looking her straight in the eyes. The sapphire's role in the collection and containment of corruption had been front line-- not something that many aristocrats could say-- but she hadn't any idea how research and development had been doing until now. The pearl's valuable insight struck her; no one was close to understanding this strange disease, and there was no cure. Corruption seemed to effect both Homeworld and rebel gems the same, yet something had always seemed strange about the coincidence of the rebellion and corruption.
"Pink Diamond's medical efforts are unprecedented, yet we see every day why she has implemented this beautifully generous program. Only the Pink Court is equipped to deal with this malignant disease, and we will deal with it, in due time," Padparadscha answered after a moment's thought, her eyes trailing to the corruption that hissed and snapped at the researchers who observed it,"But it's as you say; finding a cure may take some time, and keeping them here in the medical base presents a liability. During the up coming task force meeting we shall bring this up with Euclase for certain," Again she tapped her wrist to bring up her own holotech, and typed in a note to herself before putting the screen away.
"Perhaps a new facility will need to be built in order to quarantine the corrupted. Up until now they have been concentrated in the kindergartens...halting gem production, and causing all manner of issues in our colonial efforts. There use to be a research and containment division on the surface, but..." She never was certain what happened to them. Padparadscha pressed her lips together, before tilting her head to look back at the pearl,"The new facility will need some overseeing. I'm sure Euclase will make those delegations,"
"Perhaps we should also demand more Peridots from yellow court to help us in this research. Other Diamonds already helped us a lot, but this is serious." She added, there was not much else she could say, the Sapphire already mentioned everything.
She noded. It seemed like the best solution so far. At first Pearl thought they should just send those corrupted monsters to Homeworld, but it could have led to more sick gems. Pearl was sometimes wondering if they could become sick simply by staying close to those beasts. Just this thought was making her uncomfortable, they have been here for a while now. "I am sure she will make the right choice. She is a manager here for a reason."
She stood straight and glanced at the corrupted gem, but soon turned to Paddy with a different expression. She seemed disturbed "I hope it is not a problem, but I wanted to ask you a personal question. Are you stressed my lady?"
She nodded as the pearl spoke, but her lids lowered at the idea of dispatching more Yellow Court gems to the colony. For now, Padparadscha kept her opinions and thoughts on that matter silent; it was true after all that the resources of the system were lacking, especially in technicians specifically made to operate the complex gemkind devices that were left in dereliction on the surface. Though, she had to keep the corners of her mouth from bending down, and ignored the biting at the back of her mind.
Then the pearl continued, snapping Padparadscha out of her spiraling thoughts. The sapphire's eyes widened to look at the gem more fully,"--Stressed?" Her large eyes fluttered as she tried to come to grips with the question, "No, no," She allowed her lips to draw into a small smile,"--Well, I suppose we are all under a certain amount of stress; the gravitation of the moon, the electromagnetic fields, atmospheric pressure..." She tapped her chin, still trying to think of why the pearl might have asked the question. She eyed Melody for a moment longer as she came to her round about answer,"I do suppose there is emotional stress inherent in this work, but it's nothing that isn't standard. Why do you ask?"
"Yes, stressed. Should I speak louder?" She asked honestly, she was often speaking very quiet. Some gems could have a problem with understanding her. Melody only blinked at her next statement, she didn't know how to answer this.
She held her arms tight and close to her chest. "I noticed your eye movement, you often change expressions. We also talk about really serious topic, I thought it would a nice thing to ask. My... my previous owner liked when I was playing music for her and helping her relax. I have got recordings of different extinct creatures from various colonies. Some gems think they sound nice. I have lost got some records from Homeworld as well..." It felt natural to ask her this, she would often help her Zircon this way. The sounds of Homeworld technology, the sound of gems flying around, the sound different materials make after touching them and actual music.
She coughed "We don't need to stay in this room any longer. " She said as a corrupted gem yelled in pain, it must have tried to escape... or worse. Melody didn't look.
Padparadscha's arms crossed in front of her, before her hand came up to her chin. Stress was something she didn't often dwell upon, but somewhere deep down knew that the constant tasks that she had been given could sometimes be draining. Still, she had a duty to her Diamond and her fellow comrades.
While she listened to Melody, her eyes kept trailing toward the corruption that had been sealed in the center of the room. The back of her nape prickled as the corrupted creature's prowling seemed to grab more of her attention than necessary; after all Homeworld containment was top of the line, and she didn't truly believe the creature could break free on it's own. Still, some part of her was ready to react when or if it did. When the creature hollered, Padparadscha shrunk away from the corruption, then stood up straight again as if she hadn't.
Though, talk of music brought the sapphire's thoughts to the strange encounters she had with music in the past. Padparadscha didn't know of Melody's past, and had a spark of curiosity in her eyes, but she would shy away from asking delicate questions. Instead, she focused on something less hefty,"Ah, music," she said with a small smile,"And ambient sound? I've only ever been to Homeworld and Earth, I can only imagine what other worlds sound like," her tone was tinted with a wistfulness, but she lowered her volume as she continued to speak,"Of course, it would be easier to speak of music elsewhere," she turned to begin following Melody out of the containment center.
Melody made a small smile "I only care about your comfort, we can stop at any time you want.... or until I will have to come back to work." Pearl was still extremly calm, her words could possibly put someone to sleep, but she also seemed more happy. She went straight to the warp pad.
In a matter of seconds there were back in the main hall near Pearl's desk. Althought Pearl had to reopen the entrance in the wall. She didn't want anyone outside staff to be around the waep pad.
Melody continued to walk slowly, she approached her desk and connected herself once again to the console. She soon let go of it and turned to Sapphire "I booked one room for you, noone should interrupt us. " She then led the way to the corridor with several doors. Each with some sort of sign... cracks, check ups, natural deformations, light scars, wash and many more. She approached the one named "relaxation chambers: aristocracy only".
Melody placed her hand on the door and typed in some sort of code on the visible panel. The door lighten up and vanished, leaving only sparks of light. After coming in, it reappeared.
The room was simple and square shaped. Everything was pink and... boring, nothing on the walls, nothing on tne floor. There was only a big bed with many pillows in the centre. There was also this weird pink lightning like an aura covering everything. Pearl stood infront of the bed and waved at it so Padparascha would take a sit. After she would do that Cream spoke out "Please think about a place that makes you happy, it can be anything, but try to keep it small."
The high-energy sapphire felt disarmed by Melody's calming demeanor, and even a bit baffled. Her curiosity lead her to continue following the Pearl away from the distressing sight of the corruption, and out into the medical facility again. Padparadscha was ever more intrigued at the idea that there was a room waiting for her, but she wasn't sure what the pearl was getting her into.
When they entered the room, she peered around, greeted by an understated room washed in her favorite color; it seemed that her glorious Pink Diamond really had thought of everything. She never even knew there were designated zones for such things as emotional stress reduction-- which was just an assumption on her part at this point-- and she allowed herself to be directed to sit onto the luxurious cushioned bed. She gave a smile, wondering to herself what was next.
The pearl continued to surprise her, as Padparadscha hadn't often thought about what places made her happy. "Anywhere?" She mused to herself, tapping her chin with one lithe finger-- some places instantly came to mind: the ballroom back on Homeworld that she hadn't seen in years, a clearing in one of Earth's vast jungles near a riverbank, the site of her Project Lotus in the North Pole. A splash of rosy red bloomed across her face as she thought of those places, which no longer held the same amount of happiness as they once had. Instead, her thoughts were drawn to her office on the Earth's Moonbase, where she often unwound herself after going on field missions, or did the theraputic organizational work that was necessary for her job to go seamlessly. In her office, she felt secure, and could often have refreshing conversations with her own Pink Pearl.
"My office," She said aloud, glancing up to the pearl,"Whenever I'm there, I'm in good sorts, or at least on my way to it," Her office was a room much like this one, with a sliding light door, and a room absolutely washed in shades of brilliant pink. the Insignias of Pink Diamond were embossed into the walls there, and the room had cozy guest seating, as well as her own seat, and an ornate pink Holodesk she had brought with her from Homeworld.
She simply noded with a small smile when she asked if it could be anywhere. Pearl then kneeled on the floor, her arms resting on her kness and head starring at the floor.
After Padparadscha chose a place the room started to become foggy. Pink walls were soon replaced by pink clouds with different shapes and sizes. Each cloud moved to the right place and made a *poof* noise before turning into a certain object. Doors, seats, holodesk, everything Sapphire was able to imagine. The walls of course appeared soon after with correct decorations and insignias. It looked just like Sapphire's room. The only difference was the bed in the centre. Pearl looked around, curious about the new place she has never been in, but she was able to recognize it must have been somewhere in the Moonbase. Melody sometimes found herself thinking about owning a room, a place she could stay inside alone just to play music, a place where she could decorate... but she tried to push away this kind of thoughts. A concept of Pearl owning anything was simply ridiculuos. "I can see why you like this place."
She started talking with her calm voice "We all have our responsibilities, everyone is a part of our big society. You are no exception. And while it is important to never stop trying to please our Diamond... don't forget about the quality of your work. Stress it often responsible of our efficiency. Not only it makes us more miserable, but it affects everyone around us." She closed her eyes. Her gem started to glow with comforting cream color. Some sort of melody started to play. It started low before becoming a little bit louder while still comforting so it wouldn't interrupt Padparadschas thoughts. It was this kind of music that you sometimes don't notice untill it stops playing.
It wasn't the first time she'd seen simulation technology in use, but it always dazzled her. She glanced around, eyes wide as she drank in the accuracy that the room had depicted her office with, but for the exception of the lounge that she was sitting on. Padparadscha leaned forward to run her finger along the holodesk, and it even seemed to have the same smooth quality to it's surface. She had been rendered quiet by the whole thing, but peered over to see Melody when the pearl began to speak.
Padparadscha began to nod along with what was said, before her nod trailed off and her brows furrowed slightly. For a moment, she wasn't sure whether or not this pearl was taking jabs at her work, but her expression softened when she realized where Melody was going with the words. It was a solemn reminder; even the most pristine of gems needed to evaluate themselves and their work to live up to the standards of the Diamonds. While she had heard many rebels complain of the steep standards imposed by Homeworld, Padparadscha knew they were crucial for the safety and efficiency of all gemkind.
As Melody's gem began to glow, the sapphire's eyes became wider, and the music that the pearl began to play surprised her; nonetheless she found it pleasant. She quietly listened, swaying gently to the beat of the song. After a while of thought and listening to the music, the chatty sapphire found it increasingly difficult to prevent herself from striking further conversation,"Ah, beautiful," She sighed, then her eyes went directly to the pearls,"Does it help you to relax as well, pearl?"
Morion: Oh, there! I must say, you look fabulous in this purple/magenta colour! You would look better in our Imperial, Homeworld-loyal sky-blue tho', but... nobody is perfect. Just the Diamonds

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.

Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
