It has been some time now since Pearl arrived to the Moonbase. It was still all new for her. The base itself was like a whole new world, she was working right under Pink Diamond's eye and her Zircon was no longer here. She was ownerless, but at the same time she had Euclasue and Pink Diamond. She also had a pleasure to acompany different gems that were also working in this big facility. Slowly, but surely she was getting used to her new situation. However, thoughts of confusion still reamined in her... because what are just few days for a being that can live as long as a star or even longer.
During this time Melody allowed herself to explore the base. She wanted to be useful, awareness about her surroundings was obligatory. But for most of the time she remained in the medical station, outside of the main tower on the surface of the moon. It was quite a busy place, a lot of gems were wandering out there, but there were also times when she was there left alone. During one of those moments she was standing right in front of her office, only waiting for someone to come here and ask her for guidance. Maybe something about contacting Euclause (in theory she was her new owner, but Euclause liked to work by herself and had several Pearls. Nonethelss, talking with Melody was the way to go if you wanted to meet her) or just helping out in minor tasks.
Her gemstone was playing gentle and quiet music, composed of simple sounds. Her eyes were closed. It was like some sort of dormant state that would end only at the moment someone comes in. On the outside she was like a music player, but who knows what was happening inside her mind.

The surface of the moon was about as alien to Chevron as the massive celestial it orbited, she wasn’t allowed anywhere without her escort, Morganite—or was it more that this morganite loved to parade her around the facility, showing off her design to the many gems who were most likely busy doing work of their own. That was the case as it seemed, she was rarely released from viewpoint of her Diamond—even upon her timid request to simply go for a walk and take a breather. But with a request so small came the company of her chaperon, Morganite S33. To whom she had become very familiar with during her detainment at Kindergarten Sigma. The tall long-haired, slightly pink hued gem with telltale eyes brimming with egotism, led Chevron along with a pep in her step that was almost too noticeable.
Chevron had noted that her chaperon seemed more than please to have left K-Sigma as well, she was in fact so happy, that she constantly berated her ears with complaints of her former position as one of its overseers and that it was due time she found herself a newer, less stressful environment. Her job, now being to watch over a priceless creation which could have been the masterpiece of her masters’ technique in the creation of gems.
But despite the excited glimmer in the morganite’s eyes, Chevron remained with a look of disdain and obvious unsettling shyness as they passed into the medical center with the various gems’ about working here and there. As much as she wished she could slink out of existence for a moment, her shining wings wrapped around her waist were like a beacon to eyes and her head dipped below her shoulders as gems watched her enter, “Now, Chevron, being such an important gift to our Diamond, it’s important we have your form and gemstone checked almost weekly, wouldn’t want any impurities now would we?” S33 would say as she looked back at the winged-gem, and then for a moment flashed her eyes in a direction of group of gems, this was her chance.
“Oh my, what a dazzling gem!” a gleaming red opal would express in awe, and Morganite seized the opportunity to flaunt her masters creation. “Indeed, a personal gift to our glorious Pink Diamond, just look at the craftsmanship, she might make a pearl jealous.” Chevron groaned, it was a replay of what had been happening the last few days she’s even been let loose from the facility. Two other dreams surrounding her as Morganite went on some debacle about how well made and designed she was, but that wasn’t the worst of it—much to her dismay, they would reach out taking hold of her hair, her wings, outspreading them and simply being intrusive if anything. She had no personal space in moments like these.
She found herself simply going still, closing her eyes with a defeated look as she zoned out of reality, wishing she was somewhere far more peaceful … and then, in the midst of her dissociation, she heard music? Her eyes flickered open for a moment, and even amidst the small group surrounding her, heard something rather sultry to the ears and shifted her head towards the sound. How odd—it was a pearl, and not really that the pearl was emanating music, but how ironic it was. Back in her confinement in K-Sigma—her only real solace came from Cocoa, the chocolate pearl who played a strange instrument that echoed through the facility. Nothing like it really, soothing in its own way—just like this pearl, she droned to the song as the other gems continued to inspect and appraise her.
Pearl felt that someone was watching her. Music started to slowly become more and more quiet until it would become completly silent. Cream opened up her eyes and looked around. She noticed that some loud gems didn't appreciate her music, she got used to this... some people just didn't understand the beauty of calm music.
There was also someone else, Melody never saw that kind of gem before. She had an impressive form with eye catching colors and a pair of big wings. Pearl wasn't sure how to feel about this gem, was she an aristocrat? Probably not... no gaurds or her Pearl nearby. Melody fixed her hair and spoke to her "Hello and welcome to the medical station. Do you need something?"
Pearl's voice was nothing special. All Pearls had similar voices. However, her tone was gentle and thoughtful. She was standing behind her desk with folded hands around the belly area. She was wearing a simple cream, kind of brownish uniform with pink diamond insignia on her chest. In addition, she was wearing a white headband, connected to her round ear gem, to keep her hair away from her face. Her desk was empty, there was only a simple computer to call someone or do some secretarial work.

Unfortunately for Chevron the music she had been keeping herself droned into had slowly faded away, only to notice another gem approach her. Luckily, it was something more familiar to her seeing a pearl, but all the more it made her miss the only real supportive figure in her life, Cocoa. As these other gems around her continued to appraise and admire Chevron’s peculiar gem-form, she watched as the cream-colored pearl addressed them, her shyness got the better of her as she had locked up in nervousness, couldn’t really answer—but luckily for her, Morganite snapped out of her play, remembering that they were here for a reason.
“Ah, greetings, pearl.” Morganite would say, as she motioned up to the pearl, “A medical checkup for this one please,” she’d start as she motioned to Chevron, “And do be careful, she’s a direct gift to our Pink Diamond.”
Dressed in her scintillating headquarters regalia, light fluttering fabrics trailed after Padparadscha as she strutted into the medical center. She entered quietly but for the tap of her sharp heeled shoes, nodding her head as the slightly taller, and duller dressed Diaspore 1EO stepped swiftly to keep up with her. The medic, Diaspore, spoke in a quiet tone as they explained something under their breath to the sapphire. Both of them looked up as they approached the secretary's desk, though Padparadscha quickly realized the pearl was already speaking with someone.
Not just anyone, but the very same Chevron Amethyst that had been polished and imbued with life right in front of her over at Kindergarten Sigma, and beside her, the Morganite who had stood in her way when she attempted to investigate the Hematoid Quartz project. Both of them brought a wave of bitter memories centered around her K Sigma experience. Her lips pressed together as she slowed in her approach to the desk. The Diaspore medic lingered nearby, keeping their eyes down, waiting for indication from their patron.
Despite her distaste for this unexpected meeting, her eyes fluttered while she composed herself, then she turned to face the group of gems with a full, bright smile. Her hands articulated a precise salute toward all of them, before her hands clasped behind her back. "Ah, what a pleasure meeting you two here," She said simply, her voice carefully pitched to sound pleasant, even if she felt this to be particularly the opposite. Padparadscha then smiled at the Pearl,"I believe my pearl dropped off indication of my arrival earlier, so you may already know what this is about," Again she spoke carefully, so as not to be caught dispensing classified information in a public space.
Pearl looked at the Morganite while still thinking about this odd gem. She knew now that she was here just for a simple checkup. Not only this, she was a gift for Pink Diamond herself. Melody gasped and tried to find right words to respond "I see... I will do what I can, but please... consider making a reservation next time. If I knew someone so..." She looked at the patient "Important would come here, I would talk with Euclause herself to examine her."
The sounds of footsteps entered the room. It must have been the guests Pearl expected. A Padparadscha sapphire and her companion. Melody got a little bit worried, she didn't expect so many people at the same time. Not to mention those weren't just some common gems.
Pearl responded "Oh yes. I am really sorry, but we have got small a problem with our schedule. Please, give me just a moment."
Under her desk there was a small console connected to the computer. Pearl placed her hand on it and immediately she had acces to the available information for her. Her eyes turned green and it looked like if all data was displayed on them. She soon took her hand out of the console. There was a worried expression painted all over her face."I am really sorry, but I am afraid there is noone available at the moment. Maybe I could... no, it won't work." She sighed "When is our Diamond going to see her? Maybe you could come later?"

Chevron managed to look over at Morganite with detached irritation, when she asked to go for a walk, S33 managed to conjure up some silly excuse that she wasn’t allowed on ‘walks,’ unless it was a formal visit to some portion of the facility. Was sitting in the court all she was good for? To look pretty for gems that walked in—she was starting to think she was just like a pearl, no better than an accessory in the end. Or was she more like well-honed weapon, with elaborate etchings and other devices? A tool in the end.
And now here they were, most likely stressing this poor pearl by barging in unannounced, was it too much to ask for some time to herself? It was already eerie enough being in the presence of a diamond as much as she was, and even more so when she felt the diamond was far beyond her understanding.
S33 seemed a little embarrassed, the pearl was right, showing up without a proper appointment was rude in of itself, and of course she tried to defend herself, “I-I, yes of course, my apologies. It’s just such a task keeping this one in check.” To which she motioned to almost reeling chevron who noted it was an obvious excuse and a poor one at that. “V’ee are very sor’ee, madame Pearl.” Chevron added with a nervous hum to her voice.
But it was then the door behind them slid open and both of the gems turned to see a familiar and quite unsettling sight. Chevron at the sight of the familiar sapphire looked desperately uncomfortable, her eyes becoming heavy with regret as she immediately turned and away went stone-still. S33 was immediately thrown on edge, the last time she met this noble it was in the safety of her former mistress’ personal frigate, but now she was in her territory—she feigned as much respect as she could in the moment, “Oh, our glorious highness, how lovely to meet you again.” She might have been trying harder than she could properly manage, as her contrived smile slightly shivered at sudden unexpected meeting.
But then S33’s attention shifted back to the pearl who seemed to explain they had no openings, to Chevron, this was fine, she’d rather go back to the court at this point, where ever her diamond wanted her, but S33 seemed genuinely upset, “What?! Well, that’s absolutely unfortunate!” She hummed.
The secretary of the medical center was pleasant, but Padparadscha had always been short on valuable patience. At the hint of a scheduling issue, the short aristocrat allowed her head to tip back, nose angled ever so slightly upward while her huge, sparkling eyes stuck judgmentally into the Morganite in particular. Chevron was of course eye-catching, but it was easy for the sapphire to notice the dynamic between handler and handled. This poor soldier gem, crafted by a whimsical creator to be inherently contradictory to her apparent function, then shoved off into the obtuse caretaking of a yes-gem. It was enough to more finely sharpen her gaze toward Morganite even as the gem offered her own modulated pleasantries. "Indeed," she managed in response.
Overhearing the exchange, Padparadscha let her large eyes swing over to Diaspore 1EO as they stood rather rigidly idle. In fact, the medic seemed to be standing so still that it was becoming an effort for them. The faintly pink and yellow gem could have almost become a statue among the myriad of brilliant, stark colors and sparkling designs that flowed in and out of the medical center, but Padparadscha noted something else about Diaspore's disposition. By the time her eyes flickered back to see the Kindergarten Sigma gems, she had allowed a thin smile to pull over her lips. "Oh? Fortunate then that I have arrived just on time," A lithe pink hand gestured toward her medical servant,"A state-of-the-art melding of Pink Diamond's thoughtful generosity, and Yellow Diamond's cool effectiveness-- I introduce you to Diaspore. 1EO, would you care to give a demonstration of your talents?"
The medic shifted immediately into an at-attention stance, their leg swinging out as their arms swept up to form the Diamond salute,"I would be overjoyed for the opportunity, Your Clarity," Diaspore droned in a colorless voice, though the quickness of their movements might have conveyed some of the truth of their eagerness to participate. They fell out of their stance, and wrapped their hands behind their back as they stepped forward. They placed a flat palm over the cabochon gemstone set just below their left clavicle, and from it drew forth an ethereal tablet. On top of the tablet materialized a platter of tools that trailed after the gem as they set out on the task, circling twice Chevron before stopping to specifically look at the amethyst soldier,"I shall begin with routine measurements. Please take a wide, open stance," 1EO then took the stance themself, spreading their arms and legs to demonstrate what they meant.
Pearl seemed puzzled, she didn't remember ever being reffered to as "madame" by someone else. "It... it is not a significant issue for me. What matters is your condition and our Diamond's satisfaction." She turned to Morganite "It is understandable."
Pearl expected this kind of response, she comforted herself by clinging her hands closer to her body. "I am really sorry, there is nothing else I can do." Her tone was a little bit more quiet than usually and she tried to avoid eye contact with her. This unplanned mess probably made her feel so blue.
Melody gasped at Sapphire's kind gesture. It was something she didn't expect, but was happy with this turn of events. "Thank you my Majesty for helping us out." This time she was a little bit more lively, you could sense relief and sincerity in her voice. If this Pink gem was a gift to Pink diamond than she had to be perfect like Pink Pearl. Melody met her only once, but she already knew that she was in a presence of a well-made gem with a lot of experience. She was a perfect example of how a gem is suppose to act.
Cream wanted to offer something to this Medic. Drones, basic tools...pretty much anything. However, they seemed to have had come fully prepared so she just stood there in silence. She was waiting for this to end and have her last planned visit (for now) with the Padparadscha Sapphire.
Padparadscha gave a nod of acknowledgement to the pearl as she addressed her, then the sapphire looked on for a moment as Diaspore began taking measurements of Chevron Amethyst with Morganite standing nearby. Though, soon Diaspore took the initiative; they swiveled on their heel, took a few stiff steps forward and began to guide the other gems through to another portion of the medical facility. They gave a pointed gesture toward a particular room, continuing to explain in their monotone, quiet voice what would be done next.
As the group moved off, Padparadscha pursed her lips, then turned toward the Moonbase's shared pearl. She unclasped her hands and gestured toward the group that made off toward the rooms that housed more specialized equipment,"Diaspore is a new prototype, but should be able to handle the remainder of Chevron's check up. I'm sure her audience with Pink Diamond will be stellar," Just mentioning the name of Pink Diamond was enough to summon a smile upon Padparadscha's lips, though she hardly paused before moving on to address the more pressing reason she'd come here. The sapphire leaned in closer to Melody, her eyes focused straight into the pupils of the pearl,"As you know, there will soon be a grand council held in regards to the war..." That information wasn't particularly sensitive, but it was still a part of the classified dossier that Padparadscha had been handed, so she kept her voice low,"You are the eyes and ears of the base, more than any pearl. I'm sure Euclase has asked you to stay alert; things are heating up on the surface, now that the Crystal Gem base has been revealed to Homeworld. The medical facility is especially important...and I believe you have more running knowledge on the goings on here than many others,"
The sapphire broke her eye contact with Melody and glanced around the facility, watching as a myriad of gems bustled through the glimmering halls, before looking back at her from the corner of her eyes,"I know you're busy, but perhaps if you had a moment, you could show me where you believe this facility needs improvement-- where are our weaknesses, in other words," She spoke particularly quietly here, at a murmur just below the shuffling steps of other gems around them. Padparadscha's eyes glinted; her truth sense would help her determine what this pearl's true feelings were about her questions.
Pearl looked at those gems leaving... it was an odd meeting. Hopefully she would learn more about this "gift". Perhaps she would find something in the database later. She was just hoping that this new gem wouldn't replace Pink Pearl in any way, she was really nice for her when they first met.
She just smiled and noded at Sapphire's statement. It was good to know that this Diaspore knew the basics of her purpose. The Padparadscha soon started to look at Pearl strangely. Melody thought that there was something wrong with her appearance. She quickly moved her hand to her head to check if all of her hair was in the right place, everything secured by a hairband, but she didn't find anything out of line. Everything started to make more sense when this authority mentioned the war on Earth. Melody felt uncomfortable, she had this weird feeling she didn't have since her last time on Earth.
She looked around to see if there was noone else here. "You want to know what I think?" She pointed at herself, still with a suprised expression. She soon continued "Well yes! Of course! I-uhhh..." She left her desk and peeked at the corridor, luckly there was noone there. "I have got some time right now! We had an scheduled appointment for this exact moment, am I correct? Please follow me!"
Melody soon moved to the wall with some buttons on it. She solved the combination and soon the part of the wall turned into bright light and dissapeared, just like that. This revealed a small room with a simple warp pad. She waited for the Padparadscha to join in. Before Pearl would use this teleportation device she stated "I don't think I am exactly the best person to talk to. You flatter me, but I am just a new addition to this place. However, I also think there is something I could show you. This warp pad will take us to rooms for stuff only... I hope this will help you."
The sapphire nodded and gave a genuine smile at the pearl's initial words, then followed after her as requested. It was a bit strange to be following a pearl, as opposed to the pearl following her, but she had grown use to the various acceptable etiquettes in the Sol star system. Homeworld could be more stringent than Earth, and part of her was glad for the gentle reprieve of being within Pink Diamond's domain.
When the two arrived at the wall, Padparadscha watched carefully as the pearl revealed the hidden warp, and the sapphire's thin brows went up in surprise, though she addressed the pearl's words as she stepped up to the warp,"Your knowledge of the base and of the gems here is exactly what I need," She said in a chipper tone; already this pearl as proving her worth, as she knew how to navigate the secret nooks and crannies of the base, while also being privy to the official business of Euclase. Padparadscha's small feet tapped delicately onto the crystalline surface of the warp, and she turned her head slightly to glance toward the pearl, then gave another small smile, meant to reassure the pearl. However, she wasn't sure what to expect, and the unknown factor always gave her a bit of nerves.
Pearl noticed the smile, but didn't really react. She just closed her eyes and stood straight as the door closed. She then immediately activated the warp pad, the white light vered their forms and took them away to the new place. It lasted barely as much as a blink of an eye.
This odd feeling. Since the loss of her former master she didn't have a chance to roam around with someone else. The closest thing was when Euclause herself showed her around this base. However, this time she was the one helping someone else, it all felt quite nostalgic. The work as a receptionist sometimes seemed like a never ending job due to... gems in need from Earth. Sometimes she found herself stationing in the main tower, admiring her Diamond's mural or playing quiet music, but she still spend most of her time at her desk.
At first glance it seemed like they have arrived in an empty, round room. There were just some pillars and some consoles for technicans. There was some weird, pinkish lighting coming from above. "Please look up." Big pink Orb with tubes of the same coloration were connected to the roof. The same tubes could be found around other places in the station. Pearl explained "This is the main power source of the whole medical station. Similar models often appear in larger ships or other stations. Those tubes send energy to all rooms. This technology is responsible of powering up all of our equipmemt, our computers and may share its power with the main tower. Without it... all non combat gems and patients will be helpless." She stared at it and continued "Of course only workers have permission to enter this place, but even those Ominous defects and traitors could use their brute force to come here and harm more innocent gems." Her last words were more harsh and loud. She quickly corrected herself "I am sorry for my outburst... I don't usually act like this."
As the two of them reappeared in this isolated chamber of the moonbase, Padparadscha found herself surrounded by a setting that she had never seen or even imagined, yet it seemed inevitable that she would find it-- with the help of pearl, of course. The sapphire's curiosity flared as her eyes passed over the control consoles and the otherwise barren room, before the pearl called her attention upward. Her huge, jewel like eyes flicked upward to take in the sight there; as the pearl spoke, the sapphire's eyes scrutinized the sleek surfaces of the tubes, and the gently glowing power source that provided valuable life support to gems throughout the medical facility.
Padparadscha gazed at it, listening to the pearl speak, nodding before she was pulled out of her inquisitive thoughts by the pearl's strong language; Padpara glanced to the pearl with her brows floating upward in some surprise, but then her brows lowered, and she had a flat, stoic expression. She gave another solid nod to the gem,"Well, no need to apologize for being correct; The rebels are haphazard, but shouldn't be underestimated. It will be crucial that this place is kept hidden. Heightened security and activity around the power source might call more attention to it, perhaps even causing openings, yet without that security, this hub could be-- as some on Earth say-- a sitting duck," She tapped her chin as she thought, looking around more at the hub,"That leaves me with two more questions," The sapphire paced up to the consoles, giving them a closer look over, though she wasn't by any means a techwizard, therefore couldn't interpret most of what appeared on the screens,"First-- is that inlet you showed me the only warp that leads here?" She continued to look at the consoles for a moment longer before she began to murmur, mostly to herself,"It will be difficult to covertly add heavy security to this chamber, we will have to bring it up with Euclase. Perhaps adding covert security during routine maintenance?" She turned to give a keen look to the pearl,"My second question; if those wretched traitors were to burst their way into this room...where would they most likely enter from?"
She held her arms together and stood in one place, she was still embarrased beacuse of her outburst. She would carefully listen to Sapphire with her one ear. It was true that Melody often looked at rebel gems like at primitive beings, but they were still gems. They were still a big problem, she didn't know it when she was on Homeworld, but it looked much different here on the Earth's Moon. People wouldn't stop talking about them, they weren't considered a small threat any longer.
Pearl's eyes followed Padparadschas movement as she was analizing the room. She answered her first question without much thought put into it "There is one more way in." She approached the wall with a door like pattern and placed her hand on it "This is a door of the corridor that leads to the main tower. It can be opened here or in the tower itself." She looked worried after hearing the second question. She didn't realize it untill now "There is a sector for Quartz soldiers in the tower. They always watch after kt. So the easiest way in would be..." She looked down, stood close to the wall like she was about to fall "Through me..."

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
