The moment the bubble was popped, a brilliant white light enveloped the simple cut of Crystalline Sugar, her body manifesting before she gracelessly hit the ground. The air was unnaturally stale-no. Sterile. Was she on Earth? Earth never felt this clean. How long was she out for?
Sadly, none of these questions would find themselves answered, as a pair of Amethysts quickly grabbed her by the arms, unceremoniously lifting her so her limp legs dragged behind as they marched. She was weak, far too weak to even struggle against the duo, let alone to properly break free and fight. What... happened to her? Last she remembered, she was confronted by a trio of homeworld gems, a fight broke out... She faintly overheard one of the brutes taunting her, but only one word really stuck out.
A traitor? Her? No, nonononono. She was as loyal as they came, she would fight in a thousand wars on her Diamond’s behalf. Hell, she was only on Earth for a shot to redeem herself in the eyes of her Diamond! How could she, of all gems, be a traitor?
Sugar could barely muster the strength to look her captors in the eye as she was quite literally tossed into a cell, slumped against the wall as the destabilization field separated her from those damned Amethysts. She was too weak to stand, too frazzled to speak. Hopefully answers would come in due time but... given her situation, it seemed unlikely. Hopefully she’d find some way out of this.
The sharp tack of her heels carried down the quiet, featureless halls. Padparadscha carried her chin high, her shoulders relaxed, hands clasped neatly behind her. Her large eyes were sparkling pools of lotus pink, focused ahead. She was the picture of measured calm, shimmering silk fluttering in her wake as she glazed passed cells filled with recent captures. Some of the captures tried to taunt her as she went, but the sapphire didn't seem to notice. Behind her was the calculating tap of Pink Pearl's careful step, and the deadened thump of Jasper's heavy lope.
With a flick of her wrist, a holoscreen materialized in front of her, and she flicked through until an identification panel emerged. Her steps slowed, and she swiveled to look into the cell. Her glare seeped onto the worn captive like molten rock. Any twitch, sudden movement, flare of nostril or flicker of eye would be snared into her vision.
"Ah, Sugar D1332," The diminutive sapphire paused, to press her lips as she glanced over her holoscreen module. Her lithe fingers pulled gently to the glinting gemstone that adorned her throat, "I am Padparadscha 10C8A 8QA, judicial affiliate and investigations special operative. I believe you have some experience as an operative yourself, Madam Sugar," Her tone, modulated to seem pleasant, clashed not only with the subject matter, but with the uncanny stare of her disproportionate eyes. Her lips twisted into a smile that might have been sweet, if not for the inquisitorial fire that gleamed in her visage. The shadowy figures of her keen-eyed pearl and her caped bodyguard loomed tall over the small investigator.
The Sugar's eyes narrowed at the statement, her body tensing up as she sat straighter against the wall. The Padparadscha didn't appear nearly as much of a threat as she had anticipated, and that Pearl was, well, just a Pearl. But that Jasper... She'd recognize the face of the gem who gleefully beat her within an inch of her life. Diamonds, she didn't even have the strength to stand, and she was already dealing with this? What, were they going to drag her to the courtroom? Sugar let out an agitated sigh as she slumped back against the wall. "If I don't answer, are you going to sic her on me again?" she spat, gesturing to the Jasper with a quick tilt of her head. "I heard what your Amethysts had to say. I'm no traitor."
The pink-caped Jasper couldn't help the sanguine grin that cracked her expression. She glared down her nose at the captive, but stood still, kept at bay behind the much smaller, more delicate sapphire who stood in front of the small posse. Her heavy hands clasped together, the soldier forced her lips together, then bit down her glee. She almost managed to seem neutral.
Padparadscha's gaze didn't budge from Sugar; her visage consumed by focus, she seemed to only see the imprisoned gem; all encompassed in the test of Sugar's truthfulness and willpower. She simply allowed the first question to answer itself; Jasper would destroy what she was bid to, if it were to come to that. She hoped that the agent would honorably see through her punishment, but they rarely did. When the treasonous special agent seemed to believe what she was saying, the sapphire tipped her chin upward. Her enormous eyes narrowed with incredulity. The opulent gem glittered as she sifted, tilting her head. "What do you call a gem who shatters her superiors, D1332? Who attacks her own comrades? What do you call a gem who repeatedly abandons her objectives?" Her tone seeped with sarcasm. The questions rhetorical, she made a motion toward her pearl. The dainty pink gem glided up to the controls, lithe hands motioned through the lock. Though, Padparadscha put up her hand before the pearl could finish unlocking the mechanism.
"Why did you do it, D1332?" She leaned forward ever so slightly, head tilting to cast a dim shadow over her glistening eyes,"What drives you to such extremes?"
Behind her, Jasper prepared holocuffs and summoned her baton. The soldier cracked her knuckles, and the corner of her lip curled.
”My objective was the eradication of the Crystal Gems and the assistance in furthering Homeworld operations on Earth. The Yellow Peridot was unstable and would have drawn too much attention to our operations. Obsidian was a madwoman who’s actions would have killed loyalists and insurrectionists alike. And that Hessonite...” she paused, straightening up against the wall as she considered how to word what she wanted to say. ”Her actions would have brought an armed response from the humans. If left alive, her actions could have led to the complete and utter failure of our operations on Earth. Not once have I abandoned my objectives. I have simply acted with information and clarity that it appears many of our fellow gems lack.” she spat, glaring at the Padparadsha as she finished speaking. Of course, she had no expectation for this gem to understand, but to her, speaking up was at least better than silently accepting her own death.
As Sugar finished speaking, Padparadscha pressed her lips into a line, her brow arched. The story sounded unlikely, but it was clear that the gem believed every word she spoke. Of course, whether or not the gem was right in her actions was another story, something for Pink Diamond to decide. The sapphire took pause; for a moment she contemplated what was said. She was use to being insulted by her prisoners, and easily disregarded the little jabs. Part of her was impressed with this prisoner's tone of impudence; the gem didn't seem to interested in trying to get the sapphire on her side. "Well, D1332, we'll see what our glorious Diamond thinks of your story," She stated.
Then, with a wave of Padparadscha's hand, the pearl lowered the disruption field that separated her from the dangerous gem on the other side. She prepared herself to react if the gem tried anything, but stone-faced Jasper 3JJ moved forward to put the gem in holocuffs.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
