"Well, there was a lot of me missing. Let's face it... I am nothing like I was intended to be. So there is probably more me in this than in me... so I think the gem inside is just... trying to figure out what he is. One day he will come out. I am fairly sure of it..." he said. It was just his gut feeling but his warrior instincts were rarely wrong. "They will come... in strenth. Easily enough to wipe everyone that will stand against them," he said. What else was important? "You know where they are right now," he pointed to the ceiling where he felt the Moon was supposed to be. "And you know they will come..." he added.
Light just looked, slightly with pity at him. "Gem creation is more complicated than that. Gems might be hard on the outside, but in the inside it is a complicated mechanism. It is a miracle you have got all 4 limbs and you are still capable of processing thoughts." There was something on his mind as well. "Besides, why do you struggle with something that wasn't alive in the first place, wouldn't it be easier to find a "brother" somewhere else. since... you know..." He waved his hand at him "You are on their side and have got wings, you are free to explore the galaxy and find this soulmate, brother, pal, however you want to call them." He sounded odd, perhaps even slightly hurt. They were all gems. Why did it matter so much to him to find another Fire Opal? Yes, Pearl had no idea how it felt like to be alone like that. Pearls were one of the more commons gems, but he also knew deep down that at the end of the day everyone was different. So did it really matter if the gem had sharp edges or was round with a small pit?
"I do know where they are and that they will come. What I wanted to know is when exactly they will come and what they will bring." He sighed "You know what, nevermind, I can prepare for this." He moved away to the shelf and tried to look for a good material for a new sword "Is there something else you wanted to talk about? I have got important work to do. And they will strike any moment now. Any moment now..."

Chip knew his friend might be correct but he didn't want to believe that. "Yeah, it might be so, but I still feel like it will work! Eventually. And hey... I might be a miracle, but that's the point! Impossible takes me seconds... miracle? A few minutes," well, he didn't really believe it. He knew he had his limits but he didn't like to admit that to anyone. "Hey! Earth is my home... I am not going to leave it anytime soon," he said. He meant it. "I already told you... I have no idea when will they come, but I am not quite sure if you can prepare for this. I don't doubt your courage... but Homeworld is so powerful and vast. They could drown this planet in gems... what can you do about it?" he wasn't sure there can be anything done. And he was afraid that his friend was going to fight it... until the very end. And the end would probably be his.
Light just rolled his eyes. He doubted it would work, maybe something would come out of the gemstone, but it wouldn't be something you can talk with. The fact that he was playing with those shards in the first place was still worrying him, those weren't some toys, it felt wrong... even if they were partially his own shards. And he still didn't understand the point of all of this.
"You will have to at some point. Unless you want to fight." The Opal must have been aware of this, He had to choose a side. It was either the rebelion or Homeworld. Would he stay and help his Diamond destroy rebels? Would he... destroy him? Would he join him? This uncertainty was tearing him apart from the inside. He didn't want to fight against him, against someone he started to view as a friend.
Pearl felt his arm shaking, he turned his hand into a fist before glaring at Chip "I start to think you believe too much in yourself and not enough in others. For your information, there has never been a group before us that has done as much as we did to oppose Homeworld. And if we have to, we will all be shattered to make an example." His words were becoming louder and louder and at the end he moved his head away from Chip.

Chip wasn't discouraged with Light's skepticism at all. He knew one day it will work... one day. "I do believe in myself because there were rarely others that I could believe in. And that is exactly what worries me... I don't doubt for a second that you will fight to the very end. But I just can't see how can you fight the entire Homeworld," he said. "I think you are my last friend on this planet... and I don't want to see you shattered," his voice hinted this was one of the main reasons he came here for. He saw only a small portion of Homeworld's power and it was vast. Surely not something that could be fought by regular means.
Light's expression softened and saddened. He didn't expect this kind of response from Chip, the Fire Opal still cared after all. He looked at him, not sure how to respond. He soon spoke out while looking much more weary. "Chip, I am glad you are worried about me, but it is not about us, it is about Earth. We have to push our emotions aside for the sake of this planet."
"I don't want to be shattered, to be gone forever... It is very depressing when you think about it." He looked down at the ground. "We have already lost some close friends and allies and the war didn't even start. And yes, more of us will probably have to pay the price of freedom." He looked up again, this time with a little bit more, probably fake, energy. "But there are more of us. On Earth, on Homeworld, on different colonies across the galaxy, we are everywhere. And that is why I know Crystal Gems won't die. Never, not as long one of us is still in one piece." His eyes while intense were becoming glassy. He got wrapped up in all of this long time ago. There were times when he was wondering why was he like that. Why couldn't he just remain loyal to his own kind? There were moments where he was given a second chance, but he refused, he remained rebellious no matter what. Deep down he knew that he didn't have future in his old home. Not to mention he learned about the kindergartens and the effect it had on the planet he became attached to. There was also Para and Chip, but with Para gone he wasn't sure how to feel about creating close bonds anymore.

Chip was perhaps a bit naive and easily influenced but he wasn't stupid. He understood what was going on and why was his friend willing to sacrifice his life for Earth. Understanding didn't mean he was ok with that. "Yeah... I still don't want you to be shattered. And there is a version of this with Earth saved and you alive and well. I know there is." he tried to lift his spirit a little. He spoke the truth - Light really was his last friend on Earth. Morion left the planet. Ice vanished without a single word spoken. And he didn't even want to think about... certain others. "Without you around Earth just wouldn't be the same, you know?" he said honestly
"Well of course this version exists! It is the version where we win!" He raised his one hand heroically into the air while saying the last words as if he was about to sing. "While there is a chance I will... well.. be gone, that doesn't mean we won't win and stay alive as well." A war is a war - The loss of friends was inevitable. But it didn't mean they would just give up. This friendship, the vision of all those gems living on Earth peacefully. It was like a fuel that kept the rebellion alive. It motivated many rebels to fight.
He sighed "I will repeat myself Chip, there has never been a group quite like Crystal Gems before. Just look at what we did! We created an army, scared of Pink court from this planet, we destroyed the communication hub and the warp pads. Something like this never happened before! And it all happened because of one, ordinary Quartz soldier! And don't even let me get started on the amazing renegade Pearl." He started to act so excited when he was saying that "They are a living proof that we can do more than what we were programmed to be. Not even a Sapphire is capable of predicting what will happen, that is how amazing the Crystal Gems are." He returned to his previous position where he was leaning against the anvil "Besides, you can't just turn the light off, it is always there, you just need to wait for the day to come."

"Well, we don't know that. They easily might have been a rebellion before. Just crushed and everything about it wiped from the memory. Don't forget that history is written by the victors." and it wouldn't even be so difficult to imagine. The Homeworld wasn't exactly a society with free access to information. "At least you have the Crystal gems. But the only friend I have left is you. And I refuse to lose you too. Like all of the others," there was very little he was afraid but losing his last friend was it. And he just refused to allow that. "This was will be much worse before it gets any better... won't it?" the thought was so disturbing. So many gems were lost already and many more will be lost before it ends.
"You think so? I doubt it." He chuckled "I am not an expert, but I doubt something like that would be fully forgotten. Sure, newer gems wouldn't know much about such a rebellion. But it wouldn't be fully forgotten. Surely at least some rumors would survive." Light was sure that at least off colors would make sure that such stories would never die. While he spend most of his life in the reef itself, he heard rumors about off color gems hiding in the old parts of Homeworld. They were constantly being hunted down, but somehow, always someone remained. Light wondered how they were doing now that the war was about to star. He could only hope that Rose and Pearl would recruit and free at least most of them.
"The one and only Crystal Gem I truly cared about is missing..." He looked to the side, definitely resentful about the situation. "We can't just make it all about ourselves. We all have to make sacrifices for the sake of better future. We are doing this for every single gem, you too."
He just sighed and looked down "Yes... The worst part didn't even come yet." It was rather depressing to think about this. But he had a goal that he wanted to archive, everyone wanted to archive. His personal feelings and reluctance to fighting had to be put aside. It was the only way.

"The Diamonds could easily cover an event like that... it wouldn't even be so difficult. I think you underestimate the level of control they have over their Empire." or at least he believed so. The universe was so vast and the Diamond's power was incredible. "Well, I appreciate it, but I can easily take care of myself. I've never met a challenge I couldn't conquer! Well... except for the Old one. But that is more a sport by now" he chuckled. His fighting with the Old one was something he actually treassured. It was the only corrupted gem he couldn't poof! "Well, you do know how to find me if things get worse..." he tried to be supportive for the moment. He really wanted Light to be happy. And alive!
"Stuff like that never die Chip, there will always be someone to tell the tale. We are gems, we won't die out of old age, we might forget details and insignificant events, but stories like that can't be easily forgotten." He said, but soon continued "The story might change, get different versions, but it wouldn't die, no..." And it could be turned against them. Simply describe them as a bunch of defective gems that weren't meant to exist in the first place. Gems in the future would possibly believe such lies about them, but he knew that some gems would live long enough to know the real story.
"You might say you believe in me, but it doesn't feel like it." He furrowed his eyebrows and looked down. "How can you be so confident in yourself yet doubt the whole rebellion?" His eyes looked back up, with a bit of a distained gaze as if he was looking elsewhere. He also wasn't sure who "The Old one" is, but he didn't feel like starting a new topic.
"I... I can use the communicator?" He was never in Chip's place, he knew it was somewhere close to Beach City, but that is it. He didn't live in Empire City anymore. "Visit this place more often, please."

"You underestimate the Diamonds... they could've simple glass the entire rebellious planet from the orbit and destroy the few gems that glassed it to keep it a secret. Everything to protect the stability of their empire" he wouldn't be surprised at all. All Diamonds except Pink seemed a bit trigger happy, willing to eliminate problems instead of solving them. "Do you think anyone on the Homeworld has an idea what is going on here?" he asked. Even if some message did reach the Homeworld, it would be quickly silenced. "I am not trying to tackle a galaxy-spanning Empire, I just fight monsters... and I know I can do that. It is... what I was made to do... I suppose" he was a war machine, built to fight and not much else. "What you are against..." he just shook his head since he couldn't really imagine the scale of the Empire. "Yeah, you can always use the communicator..." that was certainly the one option.
The now tired gem stared into the Opal's eyes with a slightly angered expression "So you don't trust me after all." He approached the anvil in a sluggish speed and sit on it once again, he massaged his forehead as he was thinking what to say next. How many lies did this old smoker tell this young gem?
"You really think that is the case?" He asked seriously and shook his head "You underestimate the importance of Earth. It is Pink Diamond's first colony, but that doesn't mean only Pink played a role in colonizing this Planet." The gem straightened his back and continued "Pink court is small, many gems were either made on Earth or were made on different colonies, they were gifts in a way. But it is still relatively small compared to the other courts - other Diamonds had to intervene and sent some of their own gems to finish the job. You can even use a telescope and see for yourself, more and more blue and yellow ships are landing on the moon."
A hologram was summoned from his gem, presenting a simplistic illustration of Moonbase with numerous designs of ships. "Earth was a big project. Not only in the eyes of Pink Diamond, but also in the eyes of other Diamonds. Many gems from different courts helped in creating temples and spires that are now in ruins." He looked away "And what happened next? Pink Diamond vanished for few years, she came back and still didn't do anything about us. You think that all gems are blind? So many were forced to stop their jobs, so many had to run away... and you want to tell me that gems aren't aware of the current issue?"
"Stable Empire... it hasn't been stable for so many years now. With the way our society function, we are meant to get low on resources sooner or later. And there are so many colonies, they can't possibly have a full control under all of them. It is Rome Empire all over again. They are not even used to gems actually acting on their own. Pink Diamond is so unprepared that she prefers to wait for corruption to spread and turn all of us into monsters than to actually make a stand. Doesn't sound like a perfect empire if you ask me, I would rather die than be a part of this mess again."
He shook his head again, this time more angrily "Just go, if you don't want to help us protect your home, if you prefer to put blame on some pebbles for not wanting you here... then just go."

Chip didn't quite understand why has Light suddenly grown so angry. "I didn't say I don't trust you. All I said is that I am challenging threats of far smaller caliber. I am confident in myself because I know I can handle corrupted monsters. I wouldn't be confident in myself if I would challenge the whole Gem Empire as you did." he's seen the power of Pink and it was quite scary. "And I never said the Empire is stable, but I do believe that if one planet would seriously threaten its stability they would sacrifice it if needed. There are many planets out there... and Earth isn't special enough to risk the future of their Empire. I suppose they never really looked at it... I mean really looked at it," the Earth was his home, it was beautiful and special. If not in the galactic scale it surely was for him. "Other Diamonds don't share Pink's opinion on Earth nor special gems..." Blue was prepared to just get rid of Chip because he wasn't perfect. But Pink understood and saw what Blue couldn't. "If you want me to leave I won't bother you anymore. I don't know what pebbles are you referring to, but I am protecting my home. Always was..." he answered.

This Site will likely have unmarked Spoilers for the entirety of the Steven Universe Franchise, it is recommended that you go watch the show if you have not already before looking around the site.
Note: This Roleplay is an AU to Steven Universe, with its own Story to tell that will deviate from the show. While the show focused on Rose’s Son Steven, The RP instead presents an AU, where Rose started the rebellion conflict in modern day instead of 6000 years ago, and the story focuses on the conflict between the Homeworld loyalists, and Crystal Gem Rebels.
For a more detailed timeline please look at
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
•Within the Show, Rose Quartz Rebelled against Homeworld 6000 years ago. On the Site she waited and only started the rebellion in 2013
•In the Show, Pink Diamond was Shorter then the other Diamonds, and only had a short time commanding her Colony before the rebellion started. On the Site, as Rose Hesitated, Pink has had several thousands of years experience in managing her colony, and additionally is of a height and stature the same as Blue and Yellow Diamond.
•In the Show, the Colony was very early in production before the rebellion happened, thus explaining the lack of frequent Gem structures on Earth. In the Roleplay, the Earth has the same amount of Gem structures as the show, buts its because construction on Pink's colony was very slow due to Earth being on the furthest Edge of the Gem empire
•In the Show, the Crystal Temple was implied to have been built after the Rebellion, On the Site, its implied to have been retrofitted from a Homeworld Temple structure.
