The Conclusion of Steven Universe + The Future of the Site.

“It’s over isn’t it?”

So we really do come to the end of an era, not just for Steven Universe, but an entire era of cartoons aswell, an era that started with Adventure time and ends with Steven Universe Future. I don’t think I can really overstate how much Steven Universe has actually been part of my life, since my junior year of highschool all the way until now, where im well out of school, and uni and have been working for 3 years. Steven Universe has kinda always been there for me, and really this site aswell. I started this site very much still in the infancy of Steven Universe, all the way back in the mythical times…..of 2014, back then we had very little to work off, preluding even the reveals of ‘the return’ I had almost nothing in regards to gem kind to work with. I mean my first gem OC was Alexandrite, completed literally a week before Fusion Cuisine aired. So at the start it was a little dicey, a lot of retcons as new info emerged, but overtime we gained a far better foundation for the world, a world that of course would have been useless without you people, the ones who have stuck around, and even the ones who have not, all of you

Thank you, this site could of never been what it is without each and every one who joined, who RPed, who carved out a little story in this universe.

I digress though.

The thing is, this doesn’t really feel like an End either, while yes Steven Universe is finished it still feels like there is more, in some form or another, maybe it’s the fandom, or how big the show was but it does feel like this is not truly a goodbye.

Now to dispel any small worries about the sites future

No the site is not going away anytime soon. Despite the name of the site this never really was Steven’s story, instead it was a look into another world, a world without Steven, a world about the gems who are preparing to fight for freedom and for liberation and a world about gems fighting for all their ever knew, all they were ever taught, all spurred on by the same message of a certain Quartz, who in this world, waited just a little bit longer to rise up.

Plus, come on, we are maybe like what? ‘Season 2’ of the Sites Story, if we count Pink Diamond returning to the Moonbase as the ‘Season 1 Finale’. We still have plenty more to go.

So what about our Future

I know I sound like a broken record now but there is stuff coming, Light and myself have been doing some setups for things, but once those are done we can really start planning that event. A war is coming, I do promise that, the conflict will grow and that will come with actual mechanical changes and new ‘gameplay’ for the site, actual NPC templates for gems,humans and more, templates that let you create/use your own ships as a reward for levelling up, among other things.

Time for a bit of a Face Lift

Oh and one last thing, I was going to save this for when I do those gameplay changes but it’s a minor enough thing, I figured I should do it now. While I enjoyed the idea of all the site themes being based off Fusions I do understand that perhaps a big image of Sugalite plastered on the default theme is perhaps a little thematically confusing for a Site about the gems during an AU rebellion. So with the show reaching its conclusion, I decided the default theme perhaps needed a bit of a change to something that better represents what I hope the site will soon be about, and I do plan to at some point do a more Homeworld version aswell since I like parallels.
