The wings of the huge moth-creature beat at the water like the fins of a manta. The enormous arthropod glided down into darker, murkier waters, veering around an old wrecked fishing-trawl, and diving into a yawming crevice ahead. The crevice was thin-- nearly too thin for the ship to fit, and CERTAINLY too thin for the ship to manuever. Magnetite, however, managed fine, silver-blue, multi-faceted eyes glittering with triumph in the dark.
Deeper and deeper she swam, the Gems clutched in her forelimb's chitinous grip....... Now she found herself at the bottom. Roughly 3,200 feet below the surface. She would not stay here for long-- relatively sane at the moment, Magnetite knew that Earth's oceans had depths far more extensive than this. She even had a rough idea where a suitable location might be. But for now, the trench would do.
It kept Schorl's pesky ship out, at least. If he wanted to follow her, he'd have to do so on foot.
Alexandrite was still laying lifeless on the ground near the temple entrance. The door sealing shut from the inactivity leaving Alex alone with the bubbled gems. For lack of a better word Alex was in a state of sleep and was dreaming. Or at least something similar. The clarity of this dream seemed to lend itself more towards some form of vision, or perhaps memory.
Standing on a boulder the barren wasteland of stretched before the young gem. Injectors littered across the landscape with the reflection of the two suns in the green sky above, cascading down between them. He glanced down at the holographic display his blue hand taping across it before he turned around to the blue hand ship. His vision seemed to become more and more blurred until it turned straight into darkness.
Her eyes burst open again, panting and running as fast as her stout green legs could take her. Up ahead the the smouldering wreckage of the building laid strewn across the hard grey dirt. Several pieces still burnt with black flames. The sensation of desperation kept increasing and at random she slid down onto her knees and began clawing her way through some of the wreckage. In the corner of her eye she could see a purple gem doing a similar thing. The voices and cries became background noise as all she concentrated on was searching. Yet again the vision of the dream began to blur out again as she noticed a shade of blue through the wreckage and let out a gasp as his dream turned back to black.
The engines of the ship boiled the water surrounding it as he dove deeper after the moth-gem. Schorl was forced to stop once she dove into the narrow crevice. Schorl sighed as he opened the cockpit and tapped his watch, the hatch closed behind him and the ship flew towards the surface back to his "Settlement". He never liked swimming, but that wasn't going to stop from seeking Magnetite and finding out what she planned to do with those gems.
He could have easily spread the crevice open, but he couldn't risk it collapsing on top of them. So he was forced to swim in, He lifted a rock beneath him and used it for flight as he dove into the crevice after her. After some time he found her with the gems.
Magnetite turned her multifaceted insect-eyes up to Schorl, then opened her mandibles and hissed. Bubbles exploded from her open mouth, conveying at least some of the ill-will she was directing the male Gem's way. Then she wriggled her body, fanned her wings, and glided away along the bottom of the ocean trench, moving towards a narrower region. Hopefully Schorl would follow.
As the corrupted Gem came to the narrowest part of the geographical pinch, she slammed her wings together underwater. The sea roiled and exploded in bubbles and arcs of electrocity, an underwater tidal-wave exploding outwards as the force of the shockwave generated a momentary vacuum. Rock cracked and shattered as the wave hit, and mud filled the water, clouding it further. The sound was a force in and of itself. A deep, continous thrum, laced with the distinctive noise of electrical current.
As the seawall collapsed, massive sheets of rock and mud and sediment crashing downwards, Magnetite made good on the distraction and swam up and away, towards deeper, open waters further out at sea.
This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
