Obsidian listened to the back and forth between the various other parties of this "trial" without a word. His posture changed when Meta regenerated, however as he was now prepared to defend her against Magnetite and Schorl, if need be. Obsidian had begrudgingly played along with this trial up to this point, but it was clear that Meta would not and spoke what he had been thinking from the start. He liked her attitude. He had a choice to make, though. If he sided with Meta, he might render himself a fugitive as well. His loyalty to Meta now conflicted with his remaining loyalty to Homeworld. Without another thought, he found himself stepping toward Meta and drawing his sword, but not toward her, rather toward Alex, who had drawn his own weapon. He took a further step, placing himself between Meta and Alex, his sword pointed toward Alex. "I would stay where you are if I were you." He said to Alex.
(Extremely sorry for being away from the site guys, Like you probably heard I was helping A game developer by making tracks for his game. But I'm back now but will leave to Kentucky on Wednesday so expect absence)
School sat back in his seat watching the argument between the three gems.
"Hey! Aren't you going to intervene! Or help out in any sort of way?!" Peacekeepers voice rang from his ear-piece
"Hey, I don't see how yelling at me is fixing the situation at all" Schorl responded in a irritated tone
"Maybe, Stop them before they switch from bickering to physical combat!"
The gem sighed as he stood up from his seat and brought the rocks back into the walls with a loud thud that shook the room for several seconds. He walked up to the gems "Calm yourselves, There's no good in drawing your weapons against each other's throats."
"Meta, you need to relax. No one needs to be firing anything in here" He turned his head to her.

Meta glared around at the others, expression softening as Alex started to speak..... And then she heard what he had to say. Meta's mouth dropped open an inch or two, and she dipped a foot or two out of the air.
She raised a hand towards him, then realized that the gesture could be interpreted as threatening and not consoling, considering the power she could direct with only a gesture.
"Alex, I would never try to hurt you. Obsidian, please-"
There was a thunderous WUMP that was made worse by the indoors-setting, and Meta fell right out of the air, eyes blinking rapidly. Magnetite seized three bubbled corrupted Gems with one hand, the other clutching at the blast-hole in her stomach, then dashed out the door.....
Although Alex's stance faltered he still shakily managed to hold onto his weapon as he began backing up more towards the exit.
"Alex, I would never try to hurt you. Obsidian, please-"
"Why?" He whispered
The massive sound shocked and scared him to the point that he nearly dropped his weapon, although he fumbled with it he managed to grab it before it fell. Panting as he still looked around at the other gems. He felt Magnetite whizz past him throwing him of balance and causing him to fall into a sitting position on the ground, his breathing was still ragged and on top of that his physical form was malfunctioning again from the stress and other factors.
Magnetite had escaped, which he was both relieved and slightly scared for. He had noticed the bubbles she was holding, were they significant or just grabbed at random. Alex was terrified that he would be blamed for her escape and really it sorta was his fault in the first place. Now that his outburst had ended he was also painfully aware of how intimidating the other gems were standing around the room.
His position sitting on the ground shaking didn't help his confidence and it ended up making him look like some sort of lost defective child in a situation way more complicated for him to handle. He clung to his staff like it was his lifeline, only for the thing to pop back into energy and return to his gem which caused a small moan of pain to escape from his mouth.
"I-I, that, wasn't" He stuttered and trailed off again.

Had Obsidian not been focused on deterring Alex, he might have been able to stop Magnetite from escaping unscathed. Now that it appeared that Alex had lost his resolve, Obsidian put his weapon away and gave him a disapproving glare mostly for enabling the escape of Magnetite. He didn't scold the gem, however and turned away from the gem, no longer considering him a threat and turned to the Schorl, hoping to get this mess finished. "Have you reached a decision?" He asked Schorl, his gaze dead set on him. In Obsidian's mind, there was only one way this was going to end and now it was up to Schorl to determine what path would be taken to get to that end.
"Momentarily PC, She can't get far with those gems with the wound she has."
Schorl turned back to the group of remaining gems, at lease no one else was injured as far as he could tell. Well, except himself from the recent battle with aquamarine. He took the time in those couple of seconds to look at the ignored wounds on his left shoulder and chest. Schorl would have to worry about those later, but not now.
"Have you reached a decision?" "Well, from the explanation and explosive outburst from Meta, She's in the clear. But right now i think the more important matter now is finding out what Magnetite plans on doing with those three specific gems"
(Same here, I'm in Kentucky right at the moment in the mountains with limited internet)
Schorl watched as Meta blasted right past him "If we fought Magnetite once then we can do it again!" He threw his hands to his sides with clenched fists and the rocky ground rippled underneath him.
The earth pushed him forward sending him blasting down the halls of the temple. Behind him the rock repaired it's self back into the ground. In moments he reached the outside of the tple just in time to see the gems head off over the sea. "Well that's great..." He sighed as he tapped his tech-watch several times.
Seconds later his ship came barreling down from the sky onto the beach. With a jump, he climbed himself into the cockpit and began rising the ship in the air. The engines roared as he flew towards the two gems. With thrusters activated, he caught up with Meta. "So are we taking her out or taking prisoners" He yelled after opening the cockpit
For a moment it looked like Meta was going to say something, say something to fix this,to make Alex better again, but she didn't and that was the worst part of the entire situation for Alex. He didn't know why but it crushed him on the inside and went back to looking at the ground. He did not pursue them, or even move at all as both Meta and Schorl whizzed past. Even if he did want to chase them he couldn't fly like they could and more importnatly he wasnt sure whose side he would really be on if they found Magnetite again.
He simply shifted his legs up to his chest and sat in silence in the room, staying with all the other defective and corrupted gem. 'This was probably where i belong' he thought.Alex believed he was probably as much of a loose cannon as these bubbled gems. The only difference was that he still had the audacity to have a physical form, a weak, temperamental and glitched physical form. Let the wiser gems handle it. After all, he was only about 740 years old. Even remembering that detail did nothing to raise his mood.
Schorl and Meta both left, but Obsidian hesitated a moment. He looked at Alex, based on what he had seen and heard, Meta and him knew each other. He seemed to be weak in his current state. Obsidian walked toward the exit, but stopped near Alex and turned to look at him.
"You need to figure out where you stand and who you stand with. You can either sit here and be pathetic or go out and try to fight and help those you stand with. There is more strength in trying to fight even when you can't, then cowering among these corrupt gems." He gestured to the remaining bubbled gems. Then he turned and left to go aid Schorl and Meta.
"You need to figure out where you stand and who you stand with. You can either sit here and be pathetic or go out and try to fight and help those you stand with. There is more strength in trying to fight even when you can't, then cowering among these corrupt gems."
"I Don't" He trailed off again as Obsidian exited. Who was his alliance too, he was so confused as he looked around the room "More strength" He whispered before standing back up. His head turned to the doorway and with conviction he strode towards it. He was a few steps from the entrace when he froze in place. His hands clutched onto his head as he closed his eyes in pain "What?" He began "No" he replied quickly "But" "not safe" "does that" "yeah let us" "No" "Why" "just" "g-St-noo-wa-argh" His form lit up in a glimmering white silhouette as his gems glowed with similar intensity. The upper section of Alex began to pull apart. One section was a tall humanoid with the chest gem shifting onto its chest and it seemed to be clawing forwards the two back gems pulled away from each other to make similar silhouettes and as one of them also tried to pull forward, its leg forming out of the base forms leg, the other silhouette grabbed onto them. Alex stayed like this for a few seconds quivers before like a rubber band the three torsos snapped back into one. Knocking Alex onto the ground where he stopped moving and remained unconscious at the doorway.
Meta hovered 90 ft above the shallow water that covered the seabed around 50 ft from shore, staring sourly out at the dropoff near the continental shelf a few miles out. An impossible feat for a human, but Gems had keen eyes, and Gems who could manipulate and percieve nearly all forms radiation had keener eyes still.
Sighed Meta gustily, lowering herself to polite conversational distance so as to speak with the others.
"She dove about a mile out and took the fragging Gems with her."
Meta curled her lip and flipped her hair.
"I- uh, I can't follow her."
As focused as Meta was on the frustration of being foiled, and at such expense as this, she failed to notice Alex's state back at the Temple.
((Yes, yes, NJRK, I am in fact getting on the issue of Magnetite's profile. I'm just a bit....... Slow.))
"She dove" Schorl signed as he heard these words. "I- uh, I can't follow her."
"Well, I'm capable of diving underwater, You head back to the temple. I'm not letting this gem get away from me!" With those words, Schorl dove his ship down towards the water. Flicking a switch, the flames from the engines roared violently as he activated the afterburners and plunging under the water.
"No ones going to run off with corrupted gems and expect not to be followed" He said to himself as the ship seemed to some-what swim through the water. Luckily, a few improvements were made to his ship and was able to handle the harsh sea-water. Still turned on, the afterburners made it easy to catch up to Magnetite, Slowly but surely he was gaining on her.

Obsidian emerged from the temple, sword in hand. By the time he had emerged, Magnetite had dove under the water and Schorl's ship was heading to sea. He had wasted too much time in the temple talking to that other gem and now he seemed to have missed his chance to deal with the corrupt one. Obsidian frowned in disappointment, trying to think of what he could do to aid in fighting the corrupt gem. He looked over at Meta was was hovering over the shallow water near shore.
An idea popped into Obsidian's head and he ran toward the cliff face near the temple entrance. He melted some of the rock and shaped it into a sphere before running back toward the sea.

Meta registered the movement in her peripheral vision and turned around, cocking an eyebrow.
"Obsidian, what are you doing? You could destabilize the cliffside and bury the temple. If you want rock to work with take it from the-"
Meta looked harder and saw what the Gem was doing.
She hovered towards him.
Meta grinned in surprised approval at Obsidian's idea. She was glad she'd found him on that lonely day at the volcano...... Now, if only she could help Alex.....
((So from now on, Magnetite will have her own seperate account, as I have decided to keep the character. Just pending on N's approval pf the app I submitted last night. Then we can get this thread moving a bit faster.))
This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
