As Pallasite ran off to the pay phone Olivine's first thought was, What is a working pay phone still doing around here. Secondly she knew quite well that there may be another issue with it's use. She smirks in subtle bemusement and reaches into her pockets pulling out a wad of cash. She walks over to a nearby hotdog vendor and smiles to theme. "Hey Fred... usual."
"Com'in righ on up Olive... one dog fully dressed." the darker skin toned man with yellow and red stained apron handed Olivine the hot dog and she handed over some money. "Gonna need some quarters Fred... my umm... ." she shrugs. "Friend may need them in a moment." the man looked at Pallasite and seemed generally confused. He aimlessly handed over some change as if flabbergasted by what he was seeing.
With the change in hand Olive turns around and satisfys her gluttony and shovels half the over dressed dog in her mouth. A relatively long tongue lavishly slurps up the remnants and about that time Pallasite comes over explaining about the quarters. Olivine smiles and reaches in her pocket for a quarter or two when she is pulled a bit to the rooftop corner of a building. Her eyes were directed by the comically drooling fusion to a build up in the storm drain which atop sat one Explorer Gal.
Or that's what she assumed as Pallasite floated off into the air. Moving to where she stood some of her dogs toppings splattered on the ground and her pant leg. Really Olivine didn't mind. She opened her mouth wide and took in the rest of the hotdog leaping to the roof top. She stood there with her hands in her pockets swallowing with an exaggerated gulp. "Well payphone was a good idea I suppose.... but, umm not in the way I expected... also those umm discs... there quarters."
Olivine could only wonder if Pallasite would do the right thing... though the right thing was always in the air. Gems acted in their own interest... even Olivine did. That's why she hated the Diamonds... self serving jerks. Not that this fusion was like that by any means. She just didn't think the kid would be getting his beloved heirloom back.... not anytime soon anyways.
