Reflections, Visions, and Dreams (Closed Morion and Sulfur)

[Sulfur]

The Smoky Quartz seemed to be having what a human would address as, a dream. His surroundings were peculiar, he was in a cave. The Cave was completely made of some sort of pale blue crystal, no signs of anything except for the crystal could be found. The crystals however were imperfect. They were jagged and unpolished. The floor however was very smooth, but it lacked polishing and showed no reflection.

All but two of these crystals was an exception. Two large rectangular crystals were on either side of him. They were at least three meters tall and five meters wide. They however were so polished that they resembled mirrors and perfectly reflected their surroundings. In the mirror crystals however, The gem could not see himself. Instead he could see a green gem.

This gem had pale green skin and a standard homeworld uniform. His hair was shoulder length and he wasn't very bulky. He looked almost petite due to his lack of muscle. While his build lacked muscle it somehow seemed athletic. The strangest thing about the gem was his uniform. He bore no diamond on it, rather a mixture between a diamond and a star. He stared out at Morion with an unreadable expression.

On the other mirror there was what seemed to be a corrupted gem. It had dark green spiky hair that was also shoulder length. It's body was unnaturally slender and looked strange as if almost liquid. It's face was bare except for a gem in the middle of it, this gem was cracked.

The gem, the monster, and Morion seemed to move together like a reflection. It was hard to tell who was moving the trio because all of Morion's movements felt controlled, but not his own at the same time. For example, if he wanted to do something he felt like he could definitely force the mirrors to copy his movements.

"...So... there is some magic in that old crystal ball..." The gem spoke quietly, almost in a whisper. "Tell me...what is your name?"

[Morion]

"Oh boy..."

The smoky Quartz murmured
The dreams he had last time was from another life, possible futures and past
They were horrible
Painful
But if it wasn't a dreem, then somebody invaded his mind
The poor soul^^
Carbide, beeing a low level empath, could always sense Morion... the Smoky Quartz's mind's "feeling" was that unmistakable dark maelstrom of dark fellings and personalities, angry and bitter thoughts, crimson hunger and the icy coldness of a killer.
Somewhere deep inside Morion's mind, somewhere beyond the event horizon of rationality, the sheer pressure of insanity had hammered his madness into something harder than diamond
An empath could see behind the mask, and the dark, swirling depths of the Assassin mind gazed back to her...
...a telepath?

Morion... was not alone in his mind
Behind him, there were shadowed figures, his inner demons:

The Voice



"Well now, what do we have here...?"

The Voice  whispered, with a soft voice, like silk

The Beast



Its voice was more of a growl really, growls and hisses, not real words, or whisper, just feelings.
Bloodstone could sense its curiosity

The Hunger



Not that the Hunger had any voice... it was silent, really. Just it was there too... strong enough. Primal. Dangerous. Its silence was its voice
And watched... silently... patiently...

The Anger



The Anger's mighty roar filled the dream realm
There were more - including a titanic shape, a tenctacled lovecraftian horror - , but they were the closest; a telepath could see the chains of solid smoke and darkness; Morion tired to hold them back, so they stay in his mind

"We are Morion..."

The Assassin strugled to keep his mind "closed" to keep the intruder safe from his demons... but it was hard

"And we suggest stop this, before we devour your mind and soul!"

He growled

[Sulfur]

Sulfur gazed in wonder at the several beasts before him, before them... It was impossible to tell what exactly was happening. All of the beasts' reflections appeared beside sulfur in the mirrors except for the central, humanoid Morion.

"That's strange... I thought I only visited one gem..." He murmured looking around at the beasts. "Your mind definitely is strange... Morion... if that is what you are called." Sulfur proceeded to laugh quietly as if whispering.

"Devour my mind and soul? I could not possibly be affected by this, this is but a dream I'm having. If my dream has invaded your mind outside of a dream then I am the only one dreaming..." He said, moving in sync with Morion, occasionally wavering due to the demons around him. "Then again, this could break my crystal ball, it is directly what is interfering with your mind..." His joyful laughing stopped as he said this, as if he realized that this would in fact affect him.

"It's a pity that you're such a hostile one... It's been five thousand years since I've been able to manifest in this form, even if that is only a dream." He said taking a step toward the mirror. This time it didn't feel like Morion was moving his foot on his own accord. Sulfur too didn't seem completely in control of his actions. They weren't at harmony anymore, at least not completely. "So... why is it that you ask for me to leave?"

[Morion]

"That what WE are..."

The smokya Quartz shook his head, tried to concentrate

"Thats what I am..."

He growled, focusing was harder and harder

"We are.. I AM a Smoky Quartz, from the Morion variant - Facet-7F2R Cut-8YQ; Her Majesty's Blue Diamond's loyal servant, I AM her eye... I am her Wrath! Currently lended for a few missions to Her Majesty, White Diamond..."

Morion closed his silver eyes, to gather his strenght

"...and I am now the Gem Lord and protector of Empire City!"

His hand moved quickly, if he could move it, and grabbed the throat of the intruder (or at least tried^^)

"I am asking you to leave... because I didn't invited you in my mind! And because... if you stay, I will find a way to kill you. Eventually.

[Sulfur]

Sulfur saw that Morion was struggling. It was a familiar image to him, he struggled to control who he was often. His feeling for this gem couldn't be described as pleasure at his suffering or pity at his struggle.

"I see... your power over the dreamscape is greater than even mine..." Sulfur muttered. "But you can't control such power... can you Smoky Quartz?"

"Blue Diamond... I knew... Blue Diamond once... " Sulfur murmured pensively. "She was-" before he could finish his sentence he found himself diving for Morion's throat unwillingly. Their hands phased through the mirror which became a sort of liquid. Morion's hand grasped his throat as he grasped Morion's.

"G...Gah!" He gasped. "I can't wake until I choose to-*cough*..or until I am killed in a dream! Let go of me so that I can leave your mind, if that's what you want!"

[Morion]

"I have danced the courtly dance for thousands of years... I know a thing or two about mind games"

He growled
The Smoky Quartz's inner demons howled, laughed, hissed... or just watched in eery silence

"Killing you... is tempting. I admit."

The silver eyes were full of hate, anger, pain

"It is tempting to find out, who is the stronger... and never killed in a dream before! It would be... an enlightening experience! What an experiment that would be...!"

The assassin hissed, like a cat...
...but released the other Gem's throat

"I will find you. I hope you relaized that Gem... Dreaming or awake we are the apex predator of this msirable Planet! "

Morion rubbed the bridge of his nose with closed eyes; tried to gather his "self"

"Nnn... sorry... You must have a good reason to invade... to visit my mind! Talk! Please..."

[Sulfur]

Sulfur found himself able to release Morion's throat. He sank back into the mirror wearing a look of disgust.

"I die in my dreams practically every night. You may be able to control what happens in my dreams as much as I can, but you are limited to our...'dreamscape'" He said, rubbing his throat. "Find me? ... That's a thought. Why would you look for me? Do you even know who I am?"

Sulfur rubbed the bridge of his nose with closed eyes, attempting to calm down and be civil toward the Smoky Quartz.

"Alright then... I see that this might generally come as a hostile experience to you, I assure you I mean no harm." Sulfur waved his arm and a goblet of crystal appeared in his hand. A similar goblet appeared in Morion's hand. "You see... I am a cracked gem. I can't talk to gems the same way as I used to... so I encased myself in this crystal ball. The crystal ball is made of gem shards that have been harvested. I can use it to enter another gem's mind while dreaming... but apparently you weren't in a dream... This was... an experiment if you may..."

[Morion]

"You invaded my mind! It is enough reason to find you... "

He growled, his hand transformed to clawed paws
But the smoky Quartz forced them to change back
Tried to calm down

"Yes... yes, I guess your intentions were good"

Morion admited, there was no sarcasm in his could dark voice

"I see... so you are a cracked Gem. You are hurt. In pain...."

The Smoky Quartz looked at the goblet, examined it

"Crafty little Gem... nice work! What is your name...? Where are you? Maybe I can help you. You are not the first cracked Gem I helped out."

Morion nodded

"Yes... I rarely sleep. We are Gems... we don't really need to sleep. And lately I had some bad dreams. Horrible dreams... Usually I meditate."

[Sulfur]

Sulfur seemed oddly fascinated when Morion's hands transformed. The look on his face was disturbing, almost as if he was supportive of Morion's loss of control.

"No I understand what you mean... I infiltrate your mind and you want to find me." He said. "Not to support an attempt from you to cause my demise but it only makes sense. I pose a threat to your privacy if I can infiltrate your mind..."

"I am only in pain of my emotions, you see being alone can get tiring" He mumbled examining his goblet. "My name...?"

Sulfur's voice trailed off as Morion asked the question. It was almost as if he didn't remember his name.

"I Haven't been called by name in so long... I am Sulfur!" He said attempting a pleasant smile. "...I don't believe it would be safe of you to find me. See, you are with the diamond authority and I tend to act on my own agenda. Speaking in terms of war, we are not on the same side."

"As for your dreams..." He said. "I am sure we have changed over the past five thousand years, but I dream quite often. It was wrong of me to assume you were different..."

[Morion]

Suddenly every voice, every demon in Morion's head went silent
His mind was like a shattered mirror, with dancing swirling shards that reflected the part of his soul, his mind from different engles time to time... and in every shard there was a "voice", a personality so to speak. They were Morion
He was many
But at that moment, every inner demon turned to Sulfur
They watched him silently... predators the prey
Like the Smoky Quartz
They were Morion... and all of them hated the Crystal Gems
Except one, whos ghostly form - the form of a long lost lover, the Owyhee Jasper, Demetry - gently put his hand on Morion's shoulder, and whispered one word to his ear: "Please..." then disappeared

Morion growled, but tried to stay calm

"So... you are a Rebel. But you reached out... and enetered My mind... not a Rebel's mind. Why? You changed your mind about the Rebellion?"

[Sulfur]

Sulfur seemed puzzled.

"Rebel? What are you talking about?" He said. " I am alone in my beliefs... Don't make the mistake in lumping me with some filthy squad of gems pretending to understand my opionion."

He sighed and desummoned the Goblet. He looked Morion in the eyes with a cold expression, he hid any emotions he felt at the moment.

"Please... tell me about these rebels. They are a mockery of my art, they are a mockery of my philosophy. Of my destiny" Sulfur hissed, glaring at the floor as if it had wronged him. He took a quick look around. "You must have strong feelings related to them, the thought of them united you."

Sulfur's monster had not moved, it stared blankly at Morion.

[Morion]

Morion felt sorry for the poor Gem

"The is a War on Earth. A four sided war, but most of the Gems don't really want to admit it... Rose Quartz started a Rebellion here and her ilk, the Crystal Gem killers sabotaged and destroyed most of what our Home accomplished here. Thank to them now the Lunar Sea Spire is in ruins, dangerous monsters are all around, and we have lost contact with the Gem Empire.

He shook his head

"The "rebellion" started a bit more than a three Earth's years ago. Give or take a few Earth months. Rose Quartz and her rebels sabotaged and destroyed several Homeworld facilities, temples and most importantly, the Kindergartens, the Communication Hub and the Galaxy Warp. So we are stranded here without the hope to communicate with our Empire. Still... Rose Quartz found a way to send a message to Earth. Or a rallying cry. She explained in her message her reasons, one of them was the destructive nature of the Kindergartens and the Colonzation, and asked the Gems on Earth to join her, to protect Earth and Humanity."

The Assassin frowned

"So there are us, the Loyals, The Rebels, called Crystal Gems... and surprisingly a second group of "rebels", the Independents. They are not Crystal Gems... but they are no longer loyal to the Gem Empire... But I think they are just confused. They are traitors but not without the hope of redemption... The best would be to shatter them naturally, not risk another betrayal, but now we don't really have the manpower to hunt them down. Most of them afraid to join the Rebelion, deep in their heart they know on which side they should be...
And there is a fourth side. The Monsters. You know when Rose Quartz sabotaged the Kindergartens... and other Homeworld facilities something was released! Something terrible. I don't know for sure, what is it, actually. Something from beyond the stars? An Experiment or even a malevolent entity that escaped from imprisonment, we don't have enough information to be sure. Something that the Gems found on Earth then studied? It was an artifical creation? A biological weapon? Hard to say. But this thing is like a disease! We are callig it: "Corruption". Who knows, maybe an unfinished biological weapon... as far as we know it, it could be Alien in origin, like us, or maybe the Human's secret weapon against US... I have noticed the Corruption only affects Gems. Not Humans. Or plants. Or anything from Earth...!

The Smoky Quartz growled

"Rose Quartz is a horrible villain! Only the Diamonds know how many "unborn" Gem died on that day when she and her ilk sabotaged the Kindergartens! How many innocent young Gem are still in the Erath's Crust, sleeping their never ening dreamless sleep... never to awake?"

[Sulfur]

Sulfur shook his head in unison with Morion.

"Such destruction..." He mumbled.

"Rose Quartz hm? I don't agree with her... but her efforts are quite impressive you have to admit. She's foolish going up against homeworld. If she really thinks that us gems are hurting the earth then she should shatter herself of just plain leave... I don't think she's any less harmful than we are..." He clenched his fist. "How do you feel... knowing that we're just parasites. We colonize one world at a time, taking resources to increase our numbers. We destroy other life... other sentient life for that innane reason." Sulfur chuckled quietly.

"I'm curious, what do you think of the war?" He said, looking into Morion's eyes. "Why do you fight? For your diamonds? Do you think it's right? Or... is it just fun?"

Sulfur smirked, as if expecting the last response.

[Morion]

"Don't tempt me to grab your thorat again Gem!"

Morion hissed

"The War... it is pointless. The Rebellion doomed the planet. Yes, the Injectors, the Kidnergartnes slowly drained the Planet of its resources. Slowly! But our Matriarch allowed this primitive species to develope, form a civilization! The Diamonds gave a chance to humanity to be great, and leave before the Planet become unhabitable to them or find a way to adapt, like us! The Crystal Gems robbed Humanity of that chance! We are Conquerors! Our empire is ancient and expanding... but it is part of our life. The law of the Unvierse! The Strong survie, the weak? Perish! We are destroyers? Yes. But we doing it with purpose! And after the colonization, the new colony is eternal, like us! The biological species, like the Humans? They are destroying their own planet... without any purpose! Poisoning their own waters, their own food, exterminate whole species... slowly killing their planet and for what? Money. And they are not the only species that doing this!"

[Sulfur]

Sulfur laughed maniacally. "I'm glad you aren't as shallow as I previously thought... Still... after what I've done, and after what I've seen I can never return to the Diamonds." He said smiling. "Neither do I have any desire to do so... I like to think of myself as a loner with a unique goal. I'm surprised that you limit yourself to any authority, I suppose it is a good way to balance yourself. It's a nice path, simply not the one I picked."

He paced about on his side of the mirror, half forcing Morion to pace with him, but if Morion were to attempt to move in another direction Sulfur would follow. He watched Morion and glanced at the beast on the other side of the cave occasionally.

"Sorry about being dishonest earlier, I only wanted to learn your opinion of the crystal gems." He said. "I actually have met them, I joined them for a brief while... They're wrong... I've slaughtered them a bit."

He suddenly stopped pacing.

"It feels so good...right!? When you extinguish a lifeform that you don't value?!" He said. His eyes filled with a black liquid which trickled down his face and his mouth sealed itself shut. It ripped open allowing more of the black liquid to pour out when he next spoke.  "Don't you understand!? DON'T YOU KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!?"

Sulfur's face returned to normal in an instant. It was so fast that one might have thought it was only an illusion and his face had not changed. He had a look of fear on his face.

"...I..I'm sorry..." He whispered. "It appears I'm not in control of myself either huh? Well.. If we do meet in the real world I'll be happy to hunt the crystal gems with you. I won't join homeworld, but I suppose you will be able to consider me an ally. We both share a common hobby I assume."
